LeBron James, Dwyane Wade & Chris Paul on Vacation | 2016 NBA Offseason
(Mike Ehrmann/Getty) With NBA free agency beginning Friday, the Miami Heat and Dwyane Wade will once again try to agree to a new contract to keep the 34-year-old guard with the team.
But that plan has already hit a speed bump. According to ESPN"s Brian Windhorst, citing unnamed league sources, the two sides couldn"t find a "common ground" in contract discussions Tuesday, leading Wade"s representatives to let teams know Wade would be on the market this summer.
This could easily be a negotiating tactic by Wade and his team to try to force Miami"s hand. As Windhorst notes, Wade and the Heat had several contentious weeks last summer while Wade was a free agent before they eventually agreed on a one-year, $20 million deal.
Yet there"s reason to believe that this summer could actually be different. While a divorce between Wade and Miami, where he has spent all 13 years of his career, seems unimaginable, the Heat are facing some difficult decisions this offseason.
The Heat are considered one of the frontrunners to nab Kevin Durant if he leaves Oklahoma City, and they are also trying to retain breakout center Hassan Whiteside and forward Luol Deng. Simply put, the Heat can"t afford to pay all four players at their market value.
Deng would seemingly be the odd man out, but even then the Heat can"t logistically sign Durant, Whiteside, and Wade to maximum or near-maximum contracts at the same time. It would take major concessions from all three. This is dependent on Durant choosing to sign with the Heat, of course, but they are one of the teams he is scheduled to meet with when free agency begins.
This all leads to an awkward atmosphere for Wade and the Heat to negotiate under. According to Windhorst, the Heat have $40 million in cap space. If they were to sign Wade to a deal that pays him $20 million a year, they won"t be able to afford Durant unless they clear more cap space. Ditto for Whiteside, whose max contract with the Heat would pay him over $24 million a year.
The Heat would have to first sign Durant (or any other big free agent) with their cap space, and then, because they own Wade"s Bird rights, they could go above the salary cap to re-sign Wade. Yet this is asking Wade to wait in limbo while the Heat handle seemingly bigger priorities, something that doesn"t exactly stroke any star"s ego.
There"s also the matter of what Wade"s market value is. Wade was mostly healthy and productive last season, playing 74 games while averaging 19 points, four rebounds, and four assists one of his best regular seasons in several years. But he is 34; how much are the Heat willing to pay him, and for how long?
None of this means a divorce is inevitable, but it is unlikely that these contract negotiations will be settled quickly. At the very least, for the Heat and Wade to remain together it seems as if there will have to be some big concessions from both sides.
NOW WATCH: LEBRON VS. CURRY: Heres how the NBAs biggest superstars match up
This week, "Around the Rim" pays homage to legendary coach Pat Summitt, who died Tuesday morning, by bringing in writers, coaches and players to reflect on her life and legacy.
Women"s basketball analyst LaChina Robinson welcomes freelance writer and editor Maria Cornelius, who covered Summitt for InsideTennessee.com, as well as espnW"s Mechelle Voepel. Both of whom tell stories of Summitt"s relationship with the media and her impact on women"s basketball.
In the second half of the show, Robinson speaks with former player and current South Carolina assistant coach Nikki McCray, who sheds light on what it meant to play for the late coach, Summitt"s influence and the keys Summitt gave her as she left Tennessee.
Robinson also talks with Vanderbilt assistant coach Carolyn Peck, who began her coaching career at Tennessee. She weighs in on Summitt as a leader, as a role model and the late coach"s relationship with her players.
ESPN First Take Today (6/29/2016) - Dwyane Wade & LeBron James? Kevin Durant?
It seems weird imagining Dwyane Wade in anything other than a Miami Heat uniform.
Wade has been there since 2003. He"s a three-time champion with the Heat. He"s as much a part of that organization as Pat Riley, Alonzo Mourning or even Micky Arison. They have a "Heat Lifer" business branding that he embodies perfectly. However, for the second straight summer, we"re looking at the Heat and Wade struggling to see eye-to-eye on a contract for the future Hall of Famer.
Once again, Wade wants more money and security than the Heat apparently are willing to offer right now. That"s causing Wade to look elsewhere to put pressure on the team to come through and pay him. Since he"s at the end of his prime, getting one more big deal makes sense for Wade. But the Heat have an incentive for keeping his cost relatively low and making that agreement happen sooner rather that later.
With the gap between Wade and the Heat happening again, ESPN"s Brian Windhorst went on Miami radio and said Wade"s representatives have recently reached out to a couple of teams, including the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks, about potential interest.
Via Pro Basketball Talk:
Over the last 24, 72 hours, Dwyane"s representatives have been calling around the league to several teams. Not to every team, not to 29 teams, but to a few teams and have said to them, "Hey, Dwyane is going to be available and is going to take offers."
I know San Antonio is one of the teams that"s been contacted. I know Dallas is one of the teams that"s been contacted.
How much should either side try to call a potential bluff here?
For the Heat, Wade doesn"t want to leave Miami. It"s his home and he"s built an incredible career. He could be one of the last superstars, much like Kobe Bryant, to spend his entire career with one team. That"s meaningful for everybody involved. But they also have to make sure they have the flexibility to use any potential cap space when Kevin Durant, Hassan Whiteside or any other free agent target they have this summer is still available.
Wade agreed to a one-year, $20 million deal last summer when he had these same issues coming to an agreement on a long-term deal with the Heat. This summer, he has a $30 million cap hold as the Heat retain the right to go over the cap to sign him. But really, the only way they have an abundance of cap space this summer is either by Wade signing elsewhere right away or coming to an agreement with the shooting guard quickly for a deal with an annual salary number much lower than his $30 million cap hold.
They don"t have Whiteside"s full Bird rights, which means they can"t just go over the salary cap to re-sign him. That limits their flexibility greatly.
For Wade, he has to weigh just how much of this strategy is a threat and how much of it could be a reality. Another future Hall of Famer, Paul Pierce, was supposed to spend his entire career with the Boston Celtics. Then they traded him to the Brooklyn Nets and since then he"s been nomadic in his signings. He signed with the Washington Wizards before finding his way back to Doc Rivers to play for the Los Angeles Clippers. It won"t sully his career in any way, but it does keep him from that one franchise distinction some guys really desire.
Wade on the San Antonio Spurs would likely have to come at a salary reduction. It"s unlikely they"ll give him a huge, long-term deal. They"re trying to find their own flexibility in possibly adding someone like Mike Conley or Pau Gasol or maybe even Kevin Durant. Wade could fit with Gasol in their salary cap space but again, he"s not getting paid the number he"s likely seeking from Miami.
The Dallas Mavericks have much more flexibility in what they can offer, but after committing so much money to Wes Matthews at the shooting guard position, throwing big money at Wade also seems unlikely. Although, they"ve struck out so much on free agency over the last few years that maybe they"d want a win in convincing Wade to come to their team as a lead guard.
Either way, one of these sides will have to blink at some point and do it soon for the Heat"s sake of continuing to strengthen their roster.
Dwyane Wade may look into signing with the San Antonio Spurs or Dallas Mavericks. USATSI
Wednesday afternoon was an absolutely wild one for the hockey world, as some of the leagueselite names were involved in some major deals just prior to the opening of free agency later this week.
First, after years of will they or wont they, the Oilers finally traded Taylor Hall. It was not worth the wait for Edmonton fans.
The 24-year-old left winger and former top overall pick was dealt to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for defenseman Adam Larsson and nothing else. Seriously, thats it. A one-for-one deal.
From what I understand this is a one for one deal @hallsy04 for Adam Larsson..
Gene Principe (@GenePrincipe) June 29, 2016
Sure, the Oilers have a plethora of young offensive talent that tends to happen when you win the draft lottery every year and keeppicking forwards and desperately need defense.
But, with that being said, this trade is absolutely horrendous. As a Bruins fan, I knowa bad trade when I see one. (On that note, its worth recognizingthat current Oilers and former Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli has now traded both the No. 1 and No. 2 overall picks from the 2010 draft, and gotten fleeced on both of them.)
Hall is one of the leagues bestwingers on the left side, with 132 goals and 328 points in just 381 games played. Again, hes still 24 years old. Hes an elite talent. Larsson is a fine 23-year-old blue-linerwith what is likely a bright future ahead of him, but hes not great. Not yet, anyway. He plays solid defense and has point totals of 18/6/3/24/18 in five NHL seasons.
When you trade elite talent away, you should be getting elite talent or a massive package of assets in return. The Oilers got neither.
Then, in a second major movea short time later, the Canadiens traded their franchise defenseman, P.K. Subban, to the Nashville Predators for Shea Weber. For those keeping track at home, thats twoatrocious one-for-one swaps in less than an hour that left hockey fansshaking their heads.

When it comes to professional athletes, there is a fine line between talent and stardom. They"re two different things. One is usually attained because of the other, but talent does not guarantee that a player becomes a star.
The Nashville Predators traded an immense talent for one of the true stars of the game Wednesday afternoon amid a flurry of stunning activity in the NHL. To land defenseman P.K. Subban the Predators traded away the face of their franchise, their captain and a player whose brand was synonymous with all of the things that have become valued so highly in hockey circles.
They lose all that in Weber, who is no doubt a special player. But P.K. Subban is not just a player. P.K. Subban is an event. P.K. Subban is truly a star.
In many ways Subban and Weber are polar opposites in everything but their talent. And that might be exactly what the Nashville Predators need. In Subban, the Predators are gaining a star whose brilliance is unmatched by previous players in the organization. Peter Forsberg and Paul Kariya were Predators once, but that was after their best years were behind them. Many players that Nashville developed in their system, Weber included, turned out to be great talents.
Subban comes in at 27 years old, with a Norris Trophy not terribly far in his rearview mirror. This is peak Subban, which means the Predators are getting something that they have never had on their roster -- an honest to goodness celebrity hockey player with the talent to match.
Weber may have been known in and around Nashville and has been one of the biggest names in the NHL. Subban transcends hockey, though.
There"s a very specific reason for that. He is one of the few that allows himself to be more than a hockey player. He is what hockey has so sorely lacked for so long. He both is and has a personality.
Subban puts himself out there and has ingratiated himself to the world at large by being unflinchingly himself. He is doing that in a sport where individuality can often be viewed as a character flaw instead of a weapon of mass marketing. He is also unafraid to step out from the hockey bubble, and like anyone that lives inside a bubble, those that choose not to aren"t welcomed back.
P.K. Subban can be the star that takes Nashville to the next level. USATSI
Subban celebrates his individuality because it seems like no one else is willing to. He is not marketed as one of the league"s stars. And that was while he was playing in Montreal, the most traditional market the league has to offer.
There are so many things about Subban that make him stand out, and almost all of them are positive. Subban has interests away from the game and pursuits that are solely his own. He is among the NHL"s most charitable individuals, having recently donated more than $10 million to a local children"s hospital in Montreal. He has dreams of being a fashion designer and even custom designed his own skate for last year"s Winter Classic (which were awesome, by the way). He might be the best interview in the league, candid and honest and unafraid of being held accountable. He brings humor and levity to various situations and seems to have a vested interest in those he comes in contact with to be happy.
For whatever reason, all of that clashed with the Montreal Canadiens. That, plus it never appeared that his style on the ice meshed well with coach Michel Therrien. There were also always rumblings of uneasiness in the locker room, things that we may never know fully.
Subban took the high road, even though he received word of the trade while vacationing in Paris. He delivered this message to the fans that treated him so well in Montreal, but also had a very important message for the fans he"s about to make in Nashville: "Get ready."
Get ready, indeed. With the slate wiped clean, Subban goes to a new team with a core that is starting to look like the kind that can go on championship runs together if the right pieces get filled in around them. The Preds got younger at a key position and have Subban under contract for the next six years.
They also have a player that is now better suited for playing coach Peter Laviolette"s attacking style. Not that Weber wasn"t suited for it, because he adapted and fit in fine, but now the Predators can get even faster thanks to Subban"s puck-moving and skating abilities. Speed with talent and smarts kills in the NHL today. Just ask the Pittsburgh Penguins.
With Weber gone, even though he represents the very best of what this team was and what it has become, this is a new era of Nashville Predators hockey. The tide has been turning for a while, but the Subban addition takes things to another level. For too long the Predators have simply been either ordinary or just good enough to get by.
General manager David Poile has been aggressive in his restructuring of the franchise, which is amazing considering he has been with the club from the very beginning. What he tried for nearly 15 years hadn"t been working, but this new approach looks and feels fresh. It also feels like it could work.
Poile nabbed core forwards Filip Forsberg, James Neal and Ryan Johansen through trades. Now he adds Subban to that mix, which also includes defensemen Roman Josi, Mattias Ekholm and Ryan Ellis and goalie Pekka Rinne. Aside from the goaltender, who has trended downward in recent years, those are all players right in the sweet spot of their careers.
And with all of that in mind, the Predators very well could be a team that spends to the cap this year, which is not something we always see from them.
All of this suggests that the time for the Predators to make a move is now. Subban certainly senses that, too, and feels he might be in a better place to help make that happen.
If the Predators do make that move, they"ll be doing it with a player unlike any other they"ve had before.
Nashville may be a small market, but they have loyal and passionate fans. Subban, however, can be a game-changer on so many levels. An attraction in and of himself, he"s one of the players you pay to watch. He"s also the kind of player that demands attention because he is one of the few in the NHL that won"t shy away from it when it comes his way. That"s going to go a long way in attracting new fans and bringing more attention to the Predators than they"re used to getting.
Subban is the kind of player whose impact on Nashville can stretch far beyond his career. He can change the franchise forever. And while he"s doing that, he"ll also be able to make one of the most storied franchises in the history of the sport ask itself what the heck it was thinking when they let a star like him go.
Nigel Farage to MEPs: "most of you have never done a proper job"
It is not inconceivable that MPs could ignore the wishes expressed in the referendum and decide to keep Britain in the EU. After all, at some point the means of leaving has to be put to a vote of Parliament. If Brexit does not get through, it doesnt happen. Which bit of parliamentary sovereignty do people not understand?
But what is constitutionally possible is politically improbable. More likely, because this could secure a majority in Parliament and stop the UK cracking up, is that we leave the political bits of Europe and stay in the single market, perhaps by joining the EEA.
This might entail a deal on immigration, possibly a return to the original Common Market idea of free movement of labour, not of people. But our erstwhile EU partners would need to agree to change the rules; and it will mean seriously disappointing those who voted Leave thinking they would stop immigration outright. They will be angry. And where will they turn? We havent heard the last of Nigel Farage.
As far as the Phillies are concerned, Monday night was noteworthy for a couple of reasons.
Vince Velasquez returned to the hill after his biceps strain and the offense exploded to support him in an 8-0 victory over Diamondbacks in Arizona (see game story).
But that doesnt change the fact the Phils have gone just 7-19 in the month of June and have seen the good vibes from the seasons surprising start evaporate. The midseason malaise has renewed the call of fans for the club to bring up some of its talented prospects from the minors to try and inject some life into the struggling team.
Those fans got their wish as two prospects debuted Monday night well, kinda. Their debuts didnt take place at Chase Field in Phoenix, rather they took place in Tampa, Florida. And they didnt happen on a baseball diamond, but instead in the middle of a wrestling ring on WWE Monday Night Raw.
Yep, Carlos Tocci and Mitch Walding got the call-up from Single A all the way to the big leagues of Raw. Well, sports entertainment fugazi Carlos Tocci and Mitch Walding, that is.
Ok youre probably confused by now, so allow me, a nerd who blew most of his lifes savings at Wrestlemania in Dallas a few months ago, to break this whole thing down.
Raw was at Tampas Amalie Arena last night, just a short drive from Clearwater, home to Bright House Field, which houses the Phillies during spring training and is also the home yard of the Phils Single A affiliate, the Threshers. Tocci, a centerfielder, and Walding, a third baseman, both currently play for Clearwater.
Last night on Raw, there was a squash tag-team match, which is wrestling lingo for lets bring in two random dudes with fake names no one has ever heard of and pay them to get their a***s kicked on worldwide television by two established stars to make the established guys look good. Fascinating stuff, I know.
Last nights established stars were Enzo Amore, a delightfully annoying wrestler with a New York accent who will remind you of your kid on a vicious sugar rush, and Big Cass, another New Yorker whos 7-foot tall and calls everyone S-A-W-F-T. SAAAAAWWWWWFFFTTT. So basically, they trash talk their opponents like you would in your local Philly rec basketball league but then kick their faces in, legally.
Last nights two random dudes were named Carlos Tocci and Mitch Walding. No, really. Heres a vid to prove it. Listen as announcer Michael Cole clearly says their names right before the fake Tocci and Walding get beat down quickly. (h/t Nick Piccone on the vid.)
I have no idea where that whole idea came from or what it even means, but its still kind of amazing to have wrestlers named after two random Phillies prospects.
Heres where things get more interesting. Last nights results on wwe.com have the wrestlers listed as Carlos Hersey and Mitch Walden. But go back to that video and you can tell Cole clearly says the names of the Phils prospects.
Why the switch? I have no clue. Maybe there was some sort of issue or something. But that doesnt change the fact Carlos Tocci and Mitch Walding wrestled on my TV last night.
For those wondering, Tocci, whom MLB.com had ranked as the Phils" 14th-best prospect before the season began, is hitting .286 with six homers and 27 RBI this year while Walding is batting .266 with nine homers and 37 RBI.
Anyway, Ive had my investigative reporting shoes on since this all went down on TV last night and heres what Ive come up with as the *bulletproof* explanation: Vince McMahon is a huge Phillies fan. Case closed. Thanks for reading.
Le basket-ball pleure la mort de Pat Summitt, entraîneuse légendaire
Eight national championships. Eighteen NCAA Final Fours. 38 years as head coach of the Tennessee Lady Vols. 112 victories in NCAA tournament games. 1,098 total wins.
These are the numbers that define the extraordinary success of legendary women"s college basketball coach Pat Summitt"s career. It included more wins than any Division I college basketball coach - whether for a men"s or women"s team.
But as her foundation"s obituary notes, the number that mattered most to Summitt, who died Tuesday morning of complications from early-onset Alzheimer"s disease, was this one: 161, the number of players she coached during her career as the head coach at the University of Tennessee.
She said as much in her remarkable 2013 book, co-authored with The Washington Post"s Sally Jenkins. Summitt wrote about her life, her battle with Alzheimer"s and coaching the Lady Vols, where she was known for her tough, exacting coaching style. She famously had what she called a "death ray stare" and stratospheric expectations for her teams; she once made players put their unwashed, sweaty clothes back on and play more after a loss where she wasn"t happy with the performance.
"It was supposed to be an elite, demanding environment, and it wasn"t right for everybody," she wrote in "Sum It Up." "But it was right for the 161 players who wore the orange, and the real legacy wasn"t the victories, but knowing that they were made of something stronger when they left."
She did that through those demanding tactics, which were not just about being tough, or winning games, she said, but about turning young women into selfless, team-driven leaders. In one telling passage in the book, Summitt describes her decision to give Michelle Marciniak, who she called "a headlong, reckless player who needed curbing," the position of starting point guard after the 1994 NCAA tournament. It offers two powerful definitions of leadership and insight into how she thought about molding the elite players she led:
The point guard position in basketball is one of the great tutorials on leadership, and it ought to be taught in classrooms. Anyone can perfect a dribble with muscle memory; very few people are able to organize and direct followers, which is a far more subtle and multifaceted skill. Leadership is really a form of temporary authority that others grant you, and they only follow you if they find you consistently credible. It"s all about perception -- and if teammates find you the least bit inconsistent, moody, unpredictable, indecisive or emotionally unreliable, then they balk and the whole team is destabilized.
In the obituaries and eulogies over Summitt"s death, many will try to define the kind of pioneering force she was for women"s athletics, the record-setter she was, the powerful influence she had on the sport. But perhaps the best way to reflect on the leader she was is to examine how she thought about the leaders she was trying to create -- emotionally mature, consistently credible, selfless young women who put their teammates before themselves.

Dead of Summer"s Camp Stillwater Is About to Scare the Parachute Pants Right Off of You
byBilly Nilles|
The "80s are alive and terrifying on Freeform. And we don"t just mean the fashion choices, either.
In this clip from new series Dead of Summer, exclusive to E! News, the scene has been set for plenty of bloodshed among the fresh faced camp counselors attempting to re-open Camp Stillwater after closing under suspicious (read: deadly) circumstances five years back. Don"t believe us? Allow Joel (Eli Goree) to explain.
"We"re in the middle of the woods," he tells his buddies around the campfire. "No phones, no cars, no weapons. No locks on the cabin doors. Anyone could come in through the forest or on the lake. Through that one little gate on the main road, someone could come in and kill each and every one of us. They wouldn"t find the bodies for days."
Freeform/Tyler Shields
While Joel"s not exactly winning anyone over with his sunny disposition, could his fears about Stillwater turning into Camp Crystal Lake (you know, from Friday the 13th) be about to come true? Well, you"re going to have to press play on the video above to find out.
Hailing from Once Upon a Time co-creators Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, as well as executive producers Ian Goldberg and Steve Pearlman, Dead of Summer stars Elizabeth Mitchell as Deb, the former camper who"s taking on the clearly doomed task of reopening Stillwater as its dark, ancient mythology reawakens. Starring as her collection of disposable camp counselors are Elizabeth Lail, Zelda Williams, Mark Indelicato, Alberto Frezza, Ronen Rubenstein, Amber Coney, and Paulina Singer, as well as Goree.
Are you ready for a summer of evil at Camp Stillwater? Sound off in the comments below!
Dead of Summer premieres Tuesday, June 28 at 9 p.m. on Freeform.

Witness accounts are pouring in following the suicide bombings at Istanbul"s international airport that left at least 36 dead on Tuesday.
The witnesses described a scene of terror and chaos as the attackers detonated their explosives and opened fire.
"There was blood and injured passengers everywhere," one witness from Iran told BuzzFeed:
"We heard gunshots when we were checking in. I grabbed my family and ran," Jim Hyong Lee of South Korea told The Telegraph. "Someone waved us into the prayer room and hid us there until the police came."
One traveler at the airport, Laurence Cameron, told CNN he had just gotten off an airplane to find a scene similar to "a disaster movie."
"It was just a massive crowd of screaming people. Some were falling over themselves. A poor chap in a wheelchair was just left, and everyone just rushed to the back of the building, and then people ran the other way and no one really seemed to know what was going on," he told CNN.
"It looked like someone had gone around with a bulldozer and just shredded the entire entrance to the terminal."
Another witness told CNN that authorities herded her and about 30 other people into a women"s prayer room. She said when they were released into the main terminal hall, she saw b****y boot marks on the floor.
"There was a lot of blood," she told CNN. "There was so much glass on the floor they were scuffing it aside so we didn"t slip."
Judy Favish described a similar scene in the main hall.
"Chaos and blood and people running around and anxious and worried. It was just horrible," witness Judy Favish told CBS News.
She said authorities huddled her and other travelers in a basement cafeteria for more than two hours after the explosions. Some of the people she was with had been shot and were bleeding, she said.
"There were a couple of people who had really bad panic attacks, and were literally convulsing they were so anxious," she told CBS News. "And then another woman, I think she must have had a heart attack, again from anxiety."
Former NFL star Tim Tebow and the Delta Air Lines flight crew lept into action over the weekend to help a man experiencing a medical emergency.
Richard V. Gotti wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday about the in-flight medical emergency on a Phoenix-bound flight from Atlanta that he witnessed.
Gotti said that a man a few rows ahead of him began suffering what appeared to be heart problems. He said that everyone onboard the plane helped whether it was it was chest compressions, starting an IV, helping breathe life into this man, or praying
The crew of Delta Airlines were amazing. They acted in a fast and professional manner! Then all of a sudden, I observed a guy walking down the aisle, Gotti continued.
He then noticed a man starting to walk down the aisle toward the family that was in distress.
I observed a guy walking down the aisle. That guy was Tim Tebow. He met with the family as they cried on his shoulder! I watched Tim pray with the entire section of the plane for this man. He made a stand for G*d in a difficult situation, Gotti added.
He also said when the plane landed in Phoenix, the man got a pulse back. However, People Magazine reported the man later died in a hospital
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Delta Air Lines spokesman Brian Kruse confirmed that there had been a medical emergency during the flight and that paramedics were there to greet the plane to give the passenger immediate care.
We cant say enough about the Delta professionals who care for our customers every day and we are grateful to our customers who are so often quick to extend kindness and care to one another, he said.
Gottis Facebook post has been shared more than 5,000 times since his posting.
Tebow has made no mention of the incident on the plane and Delta Air Lines doesnt release information about who is onboard their flights.
A separate Instagram photo posted by Pamela Rainey shows Tebow sitting in front of her and a mention of the medical emergency that was on the flight.
Nigel Farage first speech post-Brexit vote: You"re not laughing now
Nigel Farage has backed Donald Trump for US president and said he would never supportHillary Clinton, just days after the Republican congratulated the UKs decision to secede from the European Union.
Speaking to CNN from Brussels, UKIP leader Mr Farage praised Mr Trump but said he had far bigger problems than that of his counterpart.
Donald Trump dares to talk about things that other people want to brush under the carpet, he said.
My problems in politics are far greater than Donald Trumps. We literally have lost our sovereignty, we have lost our borders, lost our ability to regulate, he added.
The problem youve got in the US is illegal immigration. Our problem is legal immigration to half a billion people, he said, referring to the free movement between EU countries.
Mr Trump heard about the Brexit result on a visit to his golf course in Scotland, and claimed the UK had "taken back its country", echoing the words of Mr Farage.
Mr Farage, who was crowing over his EU victory last week, said that Mr Trump would be better for the UK than president Barack Obama, and thathe would not vote for democrat HillaryClinton.
There is nothing on Earth that could persuade me ever to vote for Hillary Clinton, he said.
She represents the political elite, its almost as if she feels she has the divine right to have that job.
While Mr Obama has said the UK would move to the back of the queue in terms of trade deals if it left the EU, Mr Trump has insisted the UK would remain at the front of the line.
Mr Farage"s comments comethe same day that he was widely mocked in the European parliament.MEPs booed and shouted over him as he tried to talk about EU-UK trade deals.
Lets stop threatening, lets stop being silly. You need us far more than we need you, he told CNN.
Since the referendum result on Friday, Mr Farage has admitted that he feels betrayed by members of the Tory government who appear to be backtracking on whether or not the UK can clamp down on immigration and still keep access to the single market.
Asked why he did not challenge his fellow Brexit campaigners" claims that leaving the EU would free up 350 million per week for the NHS, a claim that has since been widely discredited, he laughed:Im just too soft, too kind and too easy."
The UKIP leader was then asked how much damage to the EU and the economy he was willing to put at stake in order to leave the union.
Freedom, independence and democracy and not being slaves to anyone else - you cant put a price on that, he replied.
Nigel Farage Reacts To Global Turmoil After British Vote To Leave European Union - Cavuto
Amid the shocked dismay of Brexit on Friday morning, there was some small, vindictive consolation to be had from the discomfort of Boris Johnson as he left his handsome home in EU-loving Islington to cat-calls from inflamed north London europhiles. They werent alone in their displeasure at the result. Soon, a petition calling for Londependence had gathered tens of thousands of names and Sadiq Khan, Johnsons successor as London mayor, was being urged to declare the capital a separate city-state that would defiantly remain in the EU.
Well, he did have a mandate of a kind: almost 60 per centof Londoners thought the UK would be Stronger In. It was the largest Remain margin in England even larger than the hefty one of 14 per centby which Khan defeated Tory eurosceptic Zac Goldsmith to become mayor in May and not much smaller than Scotlands. Khans response was to stress the importance of retaining access to the single market and to describe as crucial London having an input into the renegotiation of the UKs relationship with the EU, alongside Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Its possible to take a dim view of all this. Why should London have a special say in the terms on which the UK withdraws from the EU when it ended up on the wrong side of the peoples will? Calling for London to formally uncouple from the rest of the UK, even as a joke to cheer gloomy Inners up, might be seen as vindicating small-town Outer resentment of the metropolis and its smug elites. In any case, it isnt going to happen. No, really. There will be no sovereign Greater London nation with its own passport, flag and wraparound border with Home Counties England any time soon.
Imagine the practicalities. Currency wouldnt be a problem, as the newborn city-state would convert to the euro in a trice, but there would be immediate secessionist agitation in the five London boroughs of 32 that wanted Out: Cheam would assert its historic links with Surrey; stallholders in Romford market would raise the flag of Essex County Council. Then there is the Queen to think about. Plainly, Buckingham Palace could no longer be the HQ of a foreign head of state, but given the monarchs age would it be fair to turf her out?
Step away from the fun-filled fantasy though, and see that Brexit has underlined just how dependent the UK is on Londons economic power and the case for that power to be protected and even enhanced. Greater London contains 13 per centof the UKs population, yet generates 23 per centof its economic output. Much of the tax raised in London is spent on the rest of the country 20 per centby some calculations largely because it contains more business and higher earners. The capital has long subsidised the rest the UK, just as the EU has funded attempts to regenerate its poorer regions.
Like it or not, foreign capital and foreign labour have been integral to the burgeoning of the world city from which even the most europhobic corners of the island nation benefit in terms of public spending. If Leaver mentality outside the capital was partly about resentment of rich London, with its bankers and big businesses handy targets for Nigel Farage and fuelled by a fear of an alien internationalism London might symbolise, then it may prove to have been sadly self-defeating.
Ensuring that London maintains the economic resilience it has shown since the mid-Nineties must now be a priority for national government,(once it decides to reappear). Pessimists predict a loss of jobs, disinvestment and a decrease in cultural energy. Some have mooted a special post-Brexit deal for the capital that might suit the interests of EU member states too Londons economy is, after all, larger than that of Denmark, not to mention larger than that of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland combined though what that might be and how that could happen remain obscure.
There is, though, no real barrier to greater devolution of powers to London other than the political will of central government. Allowing more decisions about how taxes raised in the capital are spent in the capital, both at mayoral and borough level, would strengthen the city in terms of managing its own growth, addressing its (often forgotten) poverty and enhancing the skills of its workforce.
Handing down control over the spending of property taxes, as set out in an influential 2013 report by the London Finance Commission set up by Mayor Johnson, would be a logical place to start. Mayor Khans manifesto pledged to campaign for strategic powers over further education and health service co-ordination, so that these can be better tailored to Londons needs. Since Brexit, he has underlined the value of London securing greater command of its own destiny.
This isnt just a London thing, and neither should it be. Plans are already in place for other English cities and city regions to enjoy more autonomy under the auspices of directly elected metro mayors, notably for Greater Manchester and Liverpool and its environs. One of the lessons of Brexit for the UK is that many people have felt that decisions about their futures have been taken at too great a distance from them and with too little regard for what they want and how they feel.
That lesson holds for London too 40 per centis a large minority. Boris Johnson was an advocate of devolution to London when he was its mayor and secured some, thanks to the more progressive side of Tory localism. If he becomes prime minister, it would be good for London and for the country as a whole if he remembered that.
US Dollar vs the British pound The UK economy is headed for recession say a number of analysts, something that will ensure the headline GBP to USD exchange rate remains under pressure for some time.
We expect cable to fall into the mid-1.2000s in the second half of this year" - Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi.
"We would, however note that sharp sell-offs in GBP have historically proved short-lived." - Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
1.20 is worst-case scenario say CIBC Markets
1.30 appears to be first major level of support
The GBP/USD exchange rate gapped lower on the open to Monday trade as traders return to their desks.
The pair closed at 1.3679 on Friday and it opened at 1.3497 on Monday. Hence the term "gap".
Gapping has predictive powers in that it usually occurs at the start of a trend. No guesses as to the direction this trend is likely to take!
In short, not enough political developments occured over the weekend to convince traders that the Brexit-inspired turmoil seen since Thursday the 23rd would soon come to an end.
Look for the 30 year lows at 1.3238 to be tested over coming days.
"Technically, GBPUSDs pace of drop is likely to slow but there are no indicators to pinpoint where the bottom will be when declines finally abate. We view 1.30 to be a firm support and could trigger a modest bounce," says a client breif from Hong Leong Bank Berhad.
With the UK in something of a political vacuum it is unsurprising that investors, despite soothing words from the UK Chancellor, continue to prefer to play Sterling from the short side.
After a brief relief rally in GBP we have seen fresh GBP lows versus the USD.
"We warned ahead of the event that Sterling could depreciate by around 15-20% on an out vote," says Jeremy Stretch, analyst with CIBC Markets.
That would suggest seeing GBP-USD trading back towards 1.20-1.2750 on CIBC"s worst case basis forecsats.
In order to facilitate such negativity that would likely require the UK political infighting to extend.
This comes as the opposition Labour party are in meltdown while the governing Conservatives decide who will contest the leadership vacancy.
PM Cameron stated last week that he wants a new Conservative leader in place by October.
UK Recession Ahead?
The British people have voted to leave the European Union, and this time they will take full ownership of any negative economic consequences - there are no bankers to blame for any negative economic impacts.
Bank of America"s Ralf Preusser believes the UK is headed for recession as a result of the increased uncertainty businesses now face, noting:
"Prolonged uncertainty could lead investors - including residential investors - to postpone decisions. We think a recession in the UK will ensue, which cuts our calendar year 2017 GDP growth forecast to 0.2% from 2.3%, even with the Bank of England (BoE) stimulating."
A country is termed to be in recession when it experiences two successive quarters of negtive growth.
Barclays have confirmed they see GDP growth falling to -0.1% in the third and fourth quarters of 2016.
Credit Suisse are in agreement:
While the actual path to exit is not yet clear, there are nonetheless profoundimplications for the UK. We expect a recession in the second half of the yearand policy easing from the Bank of England. The domestic political turbulencemay complicate the process of actually leaving the EU, says Ric Deverell, Research Analyst at Credit Suisse.
For currencies, when central banks cut interest rates a necessary downward adjustment takes place.
This is because lower rates attract lower capital inflows as investors direct their money elsewhere.
The increased risk of recession in the UK and looser BoE policy in the year ahead justify a weaker pound. Capital inflows into the UK will also be dampened making it more challenging to the finance the UKs elevated current account deficit requiring a weaker pound, says Lee Hardman, Currency Analyst at Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi.

Pound Appears to Stabilise, But Beware the Falling Knife
We saw the GBP bounce from its Brexit-shock lows as a swathe of buyers jumped into the market to buy a discounted currency.
For instance, on Friday the 24th, foreign exchange brokers UKForex saw a 400% increase in customers making currency transfers while HiFX saw a 500% increase as clients flocked to buy sterling at an exceptionally cheap rate.
There will certainly be a temptation for speculators to buy into the market in anticipation of the bounce extending.
"There are at least three reasons why the exchange rate has not fallen further," says analyst John Higgins at Capital Economics.
The first, according to Higgins, is the rapid shift in the rhetoric of pro-Remain policymakers Project Fear has been by replaced Project Reassure.
The second is the recognition that not much is likely to change in the short run in terms of the UKs relationship with the EU a lengthy period of negotiation lies ahead.
And the third has to do with expectations for monetary policy "while investors have wasted no time in discounting more easing in the UK and less tightening in the US, there has not been that much change in the spread between expected interest rates in the two countries," says Higgins.
Ultimately GBP Will Continue Lower
The outlook for the pound is understandably negative with in light of forecasts for a UK recession.
Those looking to buy into any recovery bounces should be aware that such moves are likely to be short-lived.
Bank of America are wary of trying to capitalise on any bounce in the pound noting:
"GBP has fallen sharply across the board following the vote to Leave with losses concentrated versus USD, JPY and CHF. The move has been particularly strong given the recent rise in optimism that the Remain vote would prevail, thus propelling GBP higher.
"Further GBP losses are likely over the near-term and a move towards 1.30 in GBP/USD cannot be ruled out. We would, however note that sharp sell-offs in GBP have historically proved short-lived. For now, this may not be the time to catch a falling knife."
Credit Suisse also believe that there is further downside ahead.
While we acknowledge the risk of a technical bounce back, we think the repricing in many markets has further to run, says Credit Suisse"s Deverell.
The dollar rally is forecast to continue, with the GBP to USD conversion moving into the 1.20s.
The only note of caution is the possibility of central bank intervention possibly in a coordinated fashion, says Deverell.
Bank of Tokyos Lee Hardman is also seeing a GBP into USD conversion in the 1.20s.
We expect cable to fall into the mid-1.2000s in the second half of this year before rebounding modestly back above the 1.3000- level in 2017 as heightened uncertainty gradually eases.
The pound is already significantly weak according to Bank of Tokyos long-term valuation models which should help to dampen further downside unless there is a run on the pound.
A Red Cross safety poster has provoked some backlash. (Photo: Margaret Sawyer)
KUSA - The first time Margaret Sawyer saw the Red Cross safety poster in Salida, she was perplexed.
"I thought "It must be really outdated. This can"t possibly be a recent poster,"" she said.
When she saw it a second time at a pool in Fort Morgan, she was stunned.
"I saw this one and I just kept thinking "It looks like they"re trying to do something here that shows all kids together of all different backgrounds but they"re clearly not hitting the mark,"" she said.
She was traveling across the country with her young children last weekend when she spotted a Red Cross poster depicting "cool" and "not cool" behavior by children at a pool.
The only examples showing "not cool" behavior involve dark-skinned children.
"I felt really angry," she said.
The poster also caught the attention of Ebony Rosemond of Largo, MD.Rosemond runs an organization called Black Kids Swim, a group dedicated to helping African-American youth engage in swimming.
She said America has a history of racism surrounding pools and swimming. She noted a history of violence toward African-Americans to discourage them from swimming in public pools, and beaches that banned African-Americans which forced them to swim in dangerous locations.
She called the poster step backwards.
"When I saw the poster, I just, was just very saddened that the Red Cross had chosen to put out an image that might one, discourage African-Americans from trying swimming if they were new to it, and also something that would extend a negative stereotype," she said.
"How can an organization that prides itself on being so open-minded, so understanding of the diverse populations of the world create something like this?" Rosemond said.
9NEWS spoke with William Fortune of the Red Cross, who said the children in that photo "were more designed to be children rather than any racial motivation."
Fortune said the poster was never meant to be offensive, and the organization strives to be inclusive.
"We"re committed to diversity and inclusion in everything that we do," he said.
Fortune added that when producing materials, they undergo several layers of scrutiny before production.
"It makes me really question who is sitting at the table at the executive levels at the Red Cross? What is the representation like? What is the diversity like in the people who really get to say "yes or no?"" Rosemond said.
Fortune said the posters have since been removed and the organization is developing "more appropriate material.
Rosemond said she wants the Red Cross to think harder about the impact of their material and send out a more deeply felt apology.
"I think the Red Cross can go further, they can issue a much more public apology and a much more nuanced apology that really gets to the root of what they did and what community specifically they hurt,"" she said.
Cristiano Ronaldo Vs Croatia [Euro 2016] HD 720p By zBorges Croatia coach Ante Cacic said his side were punished by Cristiano Ronaldo in the 1-0 loss to Portugal.Croatia coach Ante Cacic said his side were punished by Cristiano Ronaldo in the 1-0 loss to Portugal.Croatia coach Ante Cacic said his side were punished by Cristiano Ronaldo in the 1-0 loss to Portugal.
Poland goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny says there is much more to Portugal than Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of their Euro 2016 quarterfinal meeting in Marseille on Thursday evening.
Real Madrid star Ronaldo, who went into the tournament amid concerns over his fitness, as not at his best as Portugal drew 1-1 with Iceland and then missed a penalty in a goalless draw with Austria.
However, he provided two goals and an assist in the 3-3 draw with Hungary in the final game and was involved in the late winner when Portugal saw off Croatia 1-0 after extra time in the round of 16.
Speaking from the Poland national team camp, Arsenal goalkeeper Szczesny, who spent last season on loan at Roma, told reporters: "I would like to have Ronaldo in the Poland team, even if not in his best form, but Portugal is not just Ronaldo. They are a strong team."
He added that new Bayern Munich signing Renato Sanches is "very impressive."
Wojciech Szczesny has returned to training after injury but is unlikely to face Portugal.
Szczesny began the tournament as Poland"s first choice, but after suffering an injury against Northern Ireland in their opening Group C game he has been watching Swansea"s Lukasz Fabianski, his former Arsenal teammate, impress between the posts.
Szczesny has now returned to training but admits he is unlikely to face Portugal.
"It is difficult to say if I can go out and help the team with little more than one full training session completed," he said. "I am able to deal with the pain, but the injured muscle is not perfect yet. I just want to help the team in whatever way I can."

David Yates is one heck of a Muggle. The director, who helmed the final four Harry Potter films, releases The Legend of TarzanFriday, a $180 million live-action film starring Alexander Skarsgrd as the storied jungle hero.
This fall, Yates will follow Tarzan with FantasticBeasts and Where to Find Them (in theaters Nov. 18), the highly anticipated Potter spinoff starring Eddie Redmayne as magizoologist Newt Scamander. USA TODAYspoke with Yates on how he pulled off two massive filmsin one year.
Q: Youve dealt with suspension of disbelief with the "Harry Potter" films, but Tarzanspeaks to animals, fights gorillasand is a lord living in London when we meet him. What attracted you to this take onThe Legend of Tarzan?
A: There were so many projects I was reading. I was getting sent all these scripts from here, there and everywhere and they all felt very one-note. ... It had lots of good, fun elements that you would enjoy when you went into the movie theaterthere was a lotof action, great landscapes, amazing animals. I wasnt seeing those kinds of things in any of the other scripts. I just thought this is all great, we havent been to Africa, this big, beautiful, amazing country, in a movie in awhile. And I havent seen this sort of action/adventure/romance film for awhile.

Q: In a summer tentpole movie so full of CGI, what was the hardest thing to get right?
A: The challenge was really creating the world and making it feel romantic and big and heightenedbut believable. ... (In one scene),Margot (Robbie) ischained to the rail and the boats traveling up the river. Thats a pure drama scene, but actually its a visual effects sequence (with a real river shot in Gabon, Africa, added into the background). We can only do that now. We couldnt do that a few years ago, but weve gotten better and better at that kind of technology.
Q: How did you manage the overlapping production schedules of "Tarzan" and"Fantastic Beasts"?
A: I was still shooting Tarzan when I got sent a script for Beasts. So I went straight onto Beasts. ...My editor, bless him, Mark Day, would have one machine that had Tarzan on it and one machine that had Beasts, and I would flip-flop between the two all the time. ...All doable, all perfectly fine, but literally there wasnt a single day when I was working Beasts that I didnt at least peek at Tarzan in some shape or form.
Q: Did "Fantastic Beats" feel like a "Harry Potter" homecoming?
A: It feels the same but different. In the sense that its Jos (J.K. Rowlings) universe extended, but it feels different because its not Hogwarts, its not about kids. Its about grown-ups. Its dealing with very adult themes.

Kino-Held mit starker Faust: Bud Spencer ist tot Italian actor and filmmaker Bud Spencer died on Monday at age 86, national media reported.
"My father died peacefully at 18:15 and did not suffer from pain, he had all of us next to him and his last words were "Thank you"," his son and film producer Giuseppe Pedersoli said in a note to media. Pedersoli could not be immediately reached for additional comment.
A post on his official Facebook page read, "With our deepest regrets, we have to tell you that Bud is flying to his next journey".
Born Carlo Pedersoli in the southern city of Naples, he was known to his public as the "big friendly giant" of the screen due to his height and weight.
He played in action and comedy films in the 1970s and 1980s, mostly working at the side of his friend Terence Hill.
Often cast as a cowboy or policeman, his biggest successes included "They Call Me Trinity", a parody of Spaghetti Western movies, the "Flatfoot" films and "A friend is a Treasure." He had many fans abroad, especially in South America where he lived at various times in his life, and in Germany. Before turning to acting, Spencer was a professional swimmer and the first Italian to swim the 100 metres freestyle in less than one minute. He twice participated in Olympic games.
On several occasions he said he sympathized with the country"s centre/right parties and also ran for the Rome area regional elections in 2005 with Silvio Berlusconi"s Forza Italia party.
Mike Bloomberg: The Harder You Work the Luckier You Get
London may have just shed its safe-haven property market tag with the U.K.s vote to break away from the European Union. Thats good news for real estate markets in Asia that offer stability.
Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia, which face headwinds including oversupply and high prices, may see money flowing into property as investors flee to safer assets as volatility picks up, according to global commercial real estate services firm CBRE Group Inc.
Capital will look for safe havens, countries that offer stability, Henry Chin, head of research for Asia-Pacific at CBRE, said in an interview in Singapore.Mature, developed markets will look attractive again.
Britains vote to secede from the EU wiped almost $4 trillion off the value of global equities, with investors selling riskier assets amid concerns that trade snarls and political paralysis will disrupt an already-fragile global economic recovery.
Japan may also benefit from the Brexit fallout.
The world recognizes Japan as a safe haven, Takeshi Akagi, national director at Jones Lang LaSalle Inc., said. Because of that, Asian money that has been looking to invest in Europe will come to Japan. As uncertainties unfold in Europe and spread out to global markets, Japan would, relatively, be considered as a predominant place to be.
Why Britain Is Saying Adieu to the European Union: QuickTake
Commercial property values could fall about 10 percent over the next year, led by declines in oversupplied central London, BlackRock Inc. said in a note. Reduced tenant demand and a shift toward shorter lease terms are anticipated, while overseas investors are set to demand a larger risk premium, or more compensation, for holding U.K. assets, BlackRock said.
London office rents could fall 18 percent within two years of Article 50 -- which would set in motion the process to extricate the U.K. from the EU -- being invoked, Jefferies LLC analyst Mike Prew said on Friday. International businesses could move 100,000 jobs out of the U.K. following the vote as they may lose their passporting rights, Prew wrote. Thats bad news for developers, which plan to build the equivalent of 50 skyscrapers the same size as the Gherkin, the iconic London office tower, in the next four years, he said.
Private banks are also urging investors away from U.K. property, with UBS Group AG predicting pressure in the real estate market , especially in London, as banks move to other locations in Europe. While Credit Suisse Group AG is neutral on U.K. property as interest rates could remain very low for long, the banks wealth managers expect U.K. real estate investment trusts to underperform other real estate markets.
Whos on the Hook for Real Estate in Post-Brexit London: Q&A
Investor sentiment will deteriorate further, subduing capital flows in the short to medium term, Chris Ireland, chief executive officer for the U.K. at JLL, said. London sectors remain most vulnerable to a correction given current keen pricing and their multinational occupier base.
Still, for opportunistic funds, the U.K will become attractive as the currency declines and prices drop, according to CBRE and JLL.
With the Brexit event, one thing is a given: that interest rates are going to remain low for a long time and thats good for the property markets, CBREs Chin said. We will see value emerge in the U.K. over time but no deals are going to happen in a hurry.

Shortly before the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union last Thursday, two of the countrys leading supporters of Brexit Boris Johnson, the Conservative former mayor of London, and Nigel Farage, leader of the far-right UK Independence Party argued that the vote could turn June 23 into Britains "Independence Day."
On Sunday, Last Week Tonight host John Oliver slammed the claim and mourned his countrys decision to leave the EU. "First, Britain was already independent. In fact, its what many other countries celebrate their independence from," Oliver said. "Second, the sequel to the movie [Independence Day] actually opened this week, and features the wholesale destruction of London, which is beginning to feel pretty f*****g appropriate right now."
Oliver pointed to the swift, destructive fallout of the UKs vote. Over the past several days, global and British markets have dropped, the British pound was historically weak, and Prime Minister David Cameron, who signed off on the Brexit vote, announced hes stepping down. And it could get worse, given that no one knows how, exactly, UK-EU negotiations for a British exit will end up.
"It seems like whoever the next UK prime minister is going to be, whether its Boris Johnson or a racist tea kettle, they are going to be in for a rough few years," Oliver said.
The situation also, Oliver pointed out, left many people living in the UK out in the cold. One such victim is a Portuguese mother, who took advantage of the EUs open border policies to live and work in the UK. "I have two daughters one was born in Portugal, the second one was born in UK," she said in a video played by Oliver. "They asked me this morning, Mom, what is going to happen to us? And I told them at this point no one knows. I dont know my future; I dont know how to explain [to] my children what is going to happen to their future."
Oliver responded, clearly upset with the situation: "Perhaps I can help you with that, because its easy. Just tell them that they might be screwed, because a pig f****r called for a vote, a bus had some bullshit written on it, and then two idiots named Nigel and Boris quoted President Bill Pullman. Theyll get it. Theyll totally understand!"
But lest Americans think theyre spared from the politics behind Brexit, Oliver finished the segment with a warning to the US regarding Donald Trump: "You might think, Well, that is not going to happen to us in America. Were not going to listen to some ridiculously haired buffoon peddling lies and nativism in the hopes of riding a protest vote into power. Well, let Britain tell you it can happen. And when it does, there are no f*****g do-overs."
As the WWE brand extension approaches, more information is slowly being released about how the company will be structured once Raw and SmackDown are separate entities.
Splitting up the shows may be the biggest thing on WWE"s plate, but there were still plenty of other headlines from the past week to keep us busy.
Roman Reigns Suspended
In a bit of shocking news, Roman Reigns was on Tuesday suspended for 30 days following a wellness policy violation according to WWE.com.
It"s been a long time since a top star has been suspended for a violation such as this, and it could seriously affect how he is booked when he returns.
Reigns was still mentioned as being part of the Battleground main event on SmackDown, so it appears he still has his top spot.
The former WWEworld heavyweight champion took to Twitter to apologize to his friends and family for letting them down:
WWE Bringing Back WCW Show Concept
WWE.com has a strange listing that seems to indicate a past WCW theme is returning. When you click on the page for Night of Champions, it shows Clash of Champions as the title.
With the brand extension coming up in a few weeks, we still have a lot of unanswered questions about how the pay-per-view schedule will be structured.
It"s possible Clash events will replace NOC moving forward, but there"s always the possibility WWE will use both names and give each one to a different brand.
For those who don"t remember, Clash of the Champions events were like PPVs, but they were aired for free on television instead of being available to purchase through cable and satellite companies.
Over the years, WCW produced 35 Clash events, and all of them are available on the WWE Network for anyone who has never seen one.
CM Punk"s UFC Debut
CM Punk revealed his official UFC debut will take place at UFC 203 in September during a recent interview with UFC Unfiltered.
This means Punk will enter the octagon just under two years after signing with the company. He would have had his first fight already had it not been for a few medical issues along the way.
Punk will be fighting Mickey Gall, who has won his first two professional fights with UFC. If Punk can secure a win, it will silence many of the critics who feel he isn"t cut out for MMA.
We have to remember, Punk is no longer a young man.At almost 38 years old, he is getting into MMA much later than most of his peers, but his years of taking bumps in the ring five nights a week should help him deal with the pain of being punched and kicked for real.
Kurt Angle Returning to WWE?
During an interview with Mark Madden on Monday (h/t Wrestling Inc), Kurt Angle revealed he has had talks with Triple H, and his return to WWE is more a matter of when than if.
Do you want Kurt Angle back in WWE?
He also revealed he has interest in managing Jason Jordan and Chad Gable once he decides to hang up his boots and focus on doing other things.
Jordan and Gable have drawn comparisons to Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haasthanks to their looks and patriotic gimmick.
It will be interesting to see whether anything comes of this. Angle has spent more time working for TNA than he ever did wrestling for WWE, but wanting to end his professional wrestling career where it started is understandable.
We have heard wrestlers go into business for themselves by talking about a possible return, only to see nothing come of it, so we will have to wait to see what happens.
WWE Announces Draft
WWE issued a press release on Monday (h/tWrestling Inc), and the main topic of discussion was the return of the draft.
TheRaw and SmackDown GMs will pick their rosters during the live debut of SmackDown on Tuesday, July 19, marking the first time the draft has taken place outside an episode of Raw.
Despite the issues the original brand extension had, the draft was always one of the best nights of the year because it shook things up for both shows.
This year"s draft is especially important because it will outline what the next year will look like for both Raw and SmackDown.
It"s also reasonable to assume a few NXT Superstars will be brought up to the main roster to add some surprises to the lineup and help fill out the rosters.
Which Superstars do you want to see end up on Raw, and who should go to SmackDown?

Of the 30 blue-chip stocks in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, only Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) is showing a gain in Friday trading, up about 0.5% in the noon hour. Other blue-chippers are down anywhere from 5.8% (Goldman Sachs) to 0.3% (Verizon).
Wal-Mart owns U.K. low-price supermarket chain Asda with more than 500 stores in the country. It is safe to say that the performance of those stores has been disappointing at best and dismal at worst. Same-store sales tumbled 5.7% in the first quarter of this year, with store traffic down 5% and average ticket size down 0.7%. It was easily the worst performer in Wal-Marts international empire.
The good news for Asda came earlier this week with a report that Britons discretionary income was at its highest level since 2008, helped along by lower costs for food. The report, compiled by Asda and called the Asda Monthly Income Tracker, cited falling costs of essential items, a lower unemployment rate, and an increase to the countrys National Living Wage as the reason for the rise in discretionary income.
And given the sharp drop in the British pound following the Brexit vote, U.K. consumers are going to need all the spare cash they can get to pay for more expensive imported goods. Thats where Asda and competitors like Tesco come in stretching those discretionary pounds further.
In the noon hour Friday Wal-Mart stock traded up 0.55% at $72.49 in a 52-week range of $56.30 to $74.14.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. >> Pat Summitts family said Sunday that the last few days have been difficult for the former Tennessee womens basketball coach as her Alzheimers disease progresses.
Amid reports of Summitts failing health, her family issued a statement asking for prayers and saying that the 64-year-old Summitt is surrounded by the people who mean the most to her. It also asked for privacy.
Former Tennessee player Tamika Catchings was flying to Knoxville to visit the coach instead of returning to Indiana with the WNBAs Fever. Other former players and those in the University of Tennessee and the womens basketball communities were issuing support on Twitter through the PRAYFORPAT hashtag.
Summitt stepped down as Tennessees coach in 2012, one year after announcing her diagnosis of early onset dementia, Alzheimers type. She went 1,098-208 with eight national titles. She has the most career wins of any Division I mens or womens basketball coach.

Since her diagnosis, Summitt has played a leading role in the fight against Alzheimers. She launched the Pat Summitt Foundation, which is dedicated to researching and educating people about the disease while also providing services to patients and caregivers. The Pat Summitt Alzheimers Clinic is scheduled to open at the University of Tennessee medical center in December.
When she fights this disease, what she has taught all of us is how to do it with courage, former Tennessee womens athletic director Joan Cronan said at a 2015 charity event honoring Summitt. Shes done that from Day One. Its been about (how) we can find a cure for this disease, and she has done it facing it straight-on and shes done it giving back as she always has.
Summitt continues to hold a position as head coach emeritus of the Tennessee womens basketball team. She attended nearly every home game and many practices in the first year after stepped down as coach, though she had a less visible role in subsequent seasons. She cut back on public appearances in recent years.
When she won here last year, Williams held all four of the Grand Slam singles titles. Now she holds only Wimbledons.
Djokovic, her dancing partner at last years champions dinner, is the one on the history-making roll now. Hes the first man to hold all four major titles since Rod Laver in 1969 and the player with a chance to do what Williams could not quite manage last year by completing the Grand Slam and winning all four majors in the same calendar year.

I asked Williams what she might tell Djokovic after her unsuccessful chase last year, which ended two rounds short of the Grand Slam when she was stunned in the United States Open semifinals by Roberta Vinci.
You know, he has every opportunity to do it, she said. I think h**l get it easy, so he should be fine.
Easy sounds unlikely, given the pressure and fatigue that will surely build up in a year that also features the Olympics.
Less than an hour after Djokovic won the French Open this month for his first Roland Garros title, the former star Henri Leconte walked past the Djokovic camp in the players lounge and said theatrically: Two to go! Two to go! Oh, my G*d! Two to go!
Marian Vajda, one of Djokovics coaches, laughed. This was Leconte, one of tenniss class clowns, after all. Vajda, in typical fashion, then acknowledged the reality.
Real Grand Slam, now we can think about it, Vajda said. This was a real mental breakthrough for Novak, to win in Paris. And now he needs to focus on going to Wimbledon fresh and going for the U.S. Open, and theres obviously the Olympic Games in the middle, so its too many goals in a row. It makes it more complicated.
More compelling, too, and all the more so because Djokovic surely never gave the Grand Slam too much serious thought earlier in his career. He was too preoccupied with leveling the playing field with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to think about outclassing the field to this degree.
Even Djokovics biggest supporters his family were not thinking about it. Vajda said he ran into Djokovics father, Srdjan, at a restaurant in Paris during the French Open. Srdjan was with a group of friends and asked Vajda to tell the group what Srdjan had told him when they first met.
You told me he will be No. 1, Vajda replied, and I started laughing because I thought you were joking with me. And Novaks father said: No, I was not joking. I knew he was going to be No. 1, knew it, but I forgot one thing. I didnt know he would be dominating so much in the tennis world one day.
But here Djokovic is, undoubtedly the worlds top player on all surfaces, with a 47-6 record against the top 10 during the past two seasons. He has done it, in part, by learning how to conserve his physical and emotional energy unplugging from the game when necessary, which he did again before Wimbledon.
Winning Roland Garros was obviously one of the most memorable and beautiful moments of my career, said Djokovic, who will face James Ward of Britain in the opening match on Centre Court on Monday. Also, it took a lot out of me. I thought that its more important for me to just rejuvenate and rest a little bit from tennis and then come back preparing for Wimbledon.
He does not plan to overplay. Defend his title at Wimbledon, and it is entirely possible that he will play only the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and the United States Open in the two months that follow. But there are other temptations, including a Davis Cup quarterfinal versus Britain (and Andy Murray) in July and the Rogers Cup in Toronto, which could serve as a hardcourt warm-up for Rio.
The Grand Slam is such a rare prize that it bears sacrificing other worthy goals, as Williams is better placed than anyone to grasp. She has not been the same irresistible force since that loss to Vinci in September, and Wimbledon is full of ghosts as well as big victories for her.
Not that she remembers them all. On Sunday, she could not recall any of the details of her first appearance in 1998 (she retired in the third round versus Virginia Ruano Pascual of Spain). But she surely remembers losing to Sabine Lisicki in the fourth round in 2013 and to Aliz Cornet in the third round in 2014, just as she surely remembers beating Muguruza in straight sets last year to win her sixth Wimbledon singles title.
This year, I dont feel as much tension as I usually do, she said. Well, theres some years that I havent felt any tension, either. Im feeling pretty good. I dont feel any pressure or stress.
In truth, it was a challenge to sense what Williams was feeling on Sunday, and she will now let her racket do the talking, beginning with her first-round match on Tuesday versus Amra Sadikovic of Switzerland, 27, who retired in May 2014 but is now back for more and making her Grand Slam debut.
Williams, at 34, knows too well that life is full of such surprises, and surprise has been the rule of late in the womens game, with the now-retired Flavia Pennetta, Kerber and Muguruza winning the past three major titles.
Think about how many women now know that they have an opening, said Pam Shriver, an ESPN analyst.
During most of the Serena era, the players have felt there was no opening for them, she continued, so the question is, who is big enough to walk through it, especially at Wimbledon, where theres more media and where you better have control of your breathing and know how to manage your nerves more than anywhere else? Because theres a quietness and an aura about the place, and if youre not firmly planted with two feet with your confidence, it will knock you off balance.

Jesse Williams Steals the BET Awards With Impassioned Speech Calling for Justice and Equality
Its safe to say that 34-year-old Grey"s Anatomy star Jesse Williams stole the BET Awards on Sunday night with a wildly inspirational, confrontational speech that is bound to become a cornerstone ofthe Black Lives Matter movement. Later in the show, Samuel L. Jackson said he hadn"t heard a speech like it since the 1960s.
Williams has appearedin multiple films, but he was honored withBETs Humanitarian Award for his activism. In October 2014, he joined protests in Ferguson, Missouri to protest the shooting of Michael Brown. He was also an actor and executive producer of Stay Woke, a documentary about the movement that premiered in May. He has written extensively on Black Lives Matter and met with President Obama earlier this year to discuss his humanitarian work.

BET CEO Debra Lee presented his award for his continued efforts and steadfast commitment to furthering social change.
He began by thanking BET and all involved in the video that preceded his appearance, his wife and his parents for teaching me to focus on comprehension over career, they made sure I learned what the schools are afraid to teach us.
This award is not for me, he continued. This is for the real organizers all over the country, the activist, the civil rights attorneys, the struggling parents, the families, the teachers, the students that are realizing that a system built to divide and impoverish and destroy us cannot stand if we do. Its kinda basic mathematics: the more we learn about who we are and how we got here the more we will mobilize.
This award is also for the black women in particular who have spent their lives nurturing everyone before themselves -- we can and will do better for you.

Now, what weve been doing is looking at the data and we know that police somehow manage to de-escalate, disarm and not kill white people every day. So whats going to happen is were going to have equal rights and justice in our own country or we will restructure their function and ours. [Standing ovation.]
I got more, yall. Yesterday would have been young Tamir Rices 14th birthday so I dont want to hear any more about how far weve come when paid public servants can pull a drive-by on a 12-year-old playing alone in a park in broad daylight, killing him on television, and then going home to make a sandwich.
Tell Rekia Boyd how its so much better to live in 2012 than 1612 or 1712. Tell that to Eric Garner, Sandra Bland.
The thing is though, all of us here are getting money, that alone isnt going to stop this. Dedicating our lives to getting money just to give it right back to put someones brand on our body -- when we spent centuries praying with brands on our bodies, and now we pray to get paid for brands on our bodies?

There has been no war that we have not fought and died on the front lines of. There is no job we havent done, there is no tax they havent levied against us, and we have paid all of them.
But freedom is always conditional here. Youre free! they keeping telling us. But she would be alive if she hadnt acted so free. Now, freedom is always coming in the hereafter, but the hereafter is a hustle: We want it now.
Lets get a couple of things straight. The burden of the brutalized is not to comfort the bystander -- thats not our job so lets stop with all that. If you have a critique for our resistance then youd better have an established record, a critique of our oppression.
If you have no interest in equal rights for black people then do not make suggestions to those who do: sit down.
Weve been floating this country on credit for centuries, and were done watching and waiting while this invention called whiteness uses and abuses us, burying black people out of sight and out of mind while extracting our culture, our dollars, our entertainment like oil -- black gold! -- ghettoizing and demeaning our creations and stealing them, gentrifying our genius and then trying us on like costumes before discarding our bodies like rinds of strange fruit.
Just because were magic doesnt mean were not real. Thank you.
