ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Anderson Police Chief says they still don"t know how Kala Brown and Charles Carver"s car ended up on Todd Kohlhepp"s property in Spartanburg County.
On Thursday, Brown was found chained around the neck in a metal container on Kohlhepps"s property. On Friday, authorities confirmed they found human remains on that same property.

Brown and Carver lived in Anderson. Their apartment complex manager said Carver lived at Anderson Crossing Apartments for about three years. The manager said Carver"s mom called her asking for information. The manager said she went to their apartment and found their dogs looking hungry.
Neighbors said Carver wouldn"t have just left his dogs. His pets are what neighbors think of when they hear his name.
"How he used to walk his dog around here. They had a little poodle and a like a little greyhound dog. They walked it faithfully every day," said Kathy Stewart, a neighbor at the apartment complex.
Stewart said Carver lived there with his wife, and then in late spring Brown moved in with them. Stewart said Carver fell in love with Brown and separated from his wife.

The apartment is rented to different people now.
"You never think that would happen right here, right above me, you know? They always ask me did I hear anything? I heard noise up there, but nothing I could say that was significant," Kathleen Matkovic said, who lived below where Carver and Brown lived.
Brown worked for Kohlhepp according to the Anderson Police Chief. He said she started cleaning properties for him shortly before she went missing.
Matkovic said she"s had a hard time sleeping.
"I was afraid if they were taken from that apartment, if they thought I knew something, they might come down here next. So, I had a hard time," she said.
Several people said they"ve been praying for their neighbors.
"I just love people, and my heart goes out to her, her family, her friends, everybody that knew her," Stewart said.
The office manager said she knew something was wrong when Carver didn"t pay rent.
