Mark Teixeira hits Mets and Matz hard, riles up Robles
Yankeesfirst baseman Mark Teixeirasaid in spring training that he would like to play for another five years with the club. Yet when his eight year, $180 million contract expires after the 2016 season, Teixeira reportedlyplans to retire.
The natural assumption is that Greg Bird wouldtake over for Teixeira in 2017.
But remember, Bird is missing all of 2016 while recovering from shoulder surgery.
