New Kids on the Block returns to SAP Center

New Kids on the Block is heading back to San Jose.

The multiplatinum pop act, known for such smash singles as "Hangin' Tough" and "Step by Step," performs May 3 at the SAP Center in San Jose. The band will be joined by hitmakers TLC and Nelly.

Tickets are $29.50-$99.50 and go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Jan. 31, www.livenation.com. American Express card members have access to a presale beginning 9 a.m. Jan. 23. Also, fans can get presale tickets, starting Jan. 28, by signing up for a Facebook RSVP at http://smarturl.it/NKOTB_RSVP.

New Kids on the Block last performed in San Jose in 2013, headlining two nights at the SAP Center.

New Kids on the Block Announce Tour with TLC and Nelly

Fans who thought that New Kids On The Blocks unforgettable on-stage collaboration with Dropkick Murphys at 2013s Boston Strong concertwould lead to the former boy bands new direction may be a bit disappointed. On the other hand, fans of Top 40 radio from the mid-80s to the mid-00s will be happy about NKOTBs tour announcement earlier today (Jan. 20).

New Kids On The Blockwill hit the road this summer with TLC and Nelly on the bill. The tour is called The Main Event, and kicks off inLas Vegas on May 1. Tickets go on sale Jan. 31.

The band made the announcement on ABCs Good Morning America. Donnie Wahlberg (who stars in CBSsBlue Bloods) noted that the stage will offer some fans a rather intimate experience (at, we gather, high VIP ticket prices). He said there would bebar seats around the stage so our fans can literally sit right on the stage and converse with us, hang out and heckle us, and we can share their snacks and drinks if we want to.

Wahlberg also told TLCs T-Boz and Chilli that the band is donating $10,000 to TLCs Kickstarter fund for their upcoming and final album. TLC launched their Kickstarteryesterday (Jan. 19) and are already more than a third towards their $150,000 goal.
