British woman claims this is the real Cindy Crawford, untouched andbeautiful

From: AureliaCotta twitter

(CNN) An apparent image of 48-year-old Cindy Crawford in lingerie is stirring discussion about what real women look like but not for reasons you might expect.

The practice of photo retouching in fashion publications renders most models completely free of blemishes or imperfections to the point of being unrealistic. But this photo of Crawford baring her sun-kissed torso is drawing praise for showing her in a realistic light.

The image of murky origins spread through social media on Friday after British ITV News anchor Charlene White shared it on Twitter, attributing it to Marie Claire magazine. The American version of Marie Claire, a joint venture between Hearst Magazines and French-based Marie Claire Album, called the image real, honest and gorgeous, but denied any connection to the photo.

Its origins are actually from a December 2013 cover story from Marie Claire Mexico and Latin America. It appears that this unretouched version is a leak, the magazine said in an online post Friday. Representatives from Marie Claire Mexico, which is owned by Mexico-based Editorial Televisa, did not immediately respond to CNNs request for comment.

White said she first spotted the image on a friends private Instagram feed and sought it out on Twitter. She said she found it on a fashion blog whose name she couldnt recall, and she shared the image from there.

Regardless of the photos origins, White said she took comfort in the image as a celebrity whose looks are constantly scrutinized.

Women come in all sorts of different shapes and sizes, she said. I think its important to see all sorts of body shapes on our screens and in our magazines so that people have a true reflection of what people look like, White told CNN.

Many agreed, including actor Jamie Lee Curtis, who applauded the image on Twitter and shared an image of herself in skivvies. Bravo Cindy Crawford, she said. Beauty is truth, truth beauty, that is all Ye need to know on earth, and all Ye need to know.

Others, however, questioned the reflex to applaud realistic depictions of women in fashion.

The response has not been entirely positive. But White said it matters not what detractors say.

I want people to feel like magazines arent responsible for their happiness when it comes to their bodies but magazines also have a responsibility to show us an array of images, she said.

Bottom line? No one has the right to tell other people how to feel about their body.

Top Five Moments From The 2015 NBA All-Star Game

Bryan Altman, CBS Local Sports

I can say with relatively certainty that you probably wont remember who won the 2015 NBA All-Star Game years from now (West 163, East 158 for the record). The game did set a few records, most notably the records for most combined points scored and most three-pointers made. But still, these games arent the basketball games we find ourselves reminiscing about further on up the road. That being said, there were plenty of great moments at this years game along with a few less-than-memorable ones as well. Here are the top five moments from the 2015 All-Star Game and a few that werent so great.

Best Moments:

1. LeBron Goes Off

When someone first mentioned to me that LeBron may go off because the All-Star Game record for total points was within his grasp I kind of chuckled. Does LeBron really care about a record as trivial and meaningless as total points scored all-time in the All-Star Game? Well, the man answered the question within the first few minutes of the game as he quickly had scored 10 points within the opening quarter. LeBron finished with 30 pointsand moved into second place all-time on the total points list, meaning h**l have to wait until next year to take over the top spot from Kobe Bryant who leads him by a mere three points. James also showed off a little bit, with some great dunks and a few long-range threes to go along with them.

2. Russell Westbrooks 41 Points

Russell Westbrook just started upchucking threes early on in the second quarter and he was making it rain inside of Madison Square Garden. He hardly slowed down after that and his entire All-Star Game MVP performance was pretty impressive. Westbrook set an All-Star Game record with 27 points in the first half and as is par for the course, he did it by shooting a lot. Westbrook finished with 28 shot attempts and scored 41 points, only one shy of tying the record set by Wilt Chamberlain. Westbrook definitely put on a show and connected on some beautiful dunks as well, which he should be grateful for because well just disregard the one that he completely botched. But dont count on seeing him in next years Slam Dunk Contest.

3. Dirk Dunks

Its not too often that you see the big German get up over the rim but Dirk Nowitzki did just that in what might just be his final All-Star Game ever. Nowitzki actually looked pretty good doing it too considering he isnt exactly known as a dunker and it can safely be assumed that he didnt practice for the occasion. Still, it was nice to see Dirk let loose and have some fun, because thats really what this game is all about.

4. Stephen Curry

It serves John Wall right for not playing more stout defense on Steph Curry. Curry made him look a little bit silly early in the game with a behind-the-back move and was all over the court in the early going. Curry finished with 15 points and the three-point king was 3-8 from downtown. Oh, and he did this with James Harden. Talk about nasty stuff.

5. Pau and Marc Gasol

Pau and Marc Gasol became the first brothers to ever start opposite each other in the NBA All-Star Game. While the Gasol boys pretty much let the show-stopping play makers run amok during the actual game, the brothers embrace during introductions and their opening tip-off against one another were nice moments.

Worst Moments:

Carmelo Anthony

If this was Carmelo Anthonys final game of the season it was an extremely disappointing one. Anthony wasnt even the best number seven on his own team as Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors claimed that title. Anthony missed wide open threes and didnt do anything to separate himself from the rest of the crowd even though the game was being held in his own backyard. He came alive a little bit at the end but not exactly the best showing for one of the most prolific scorers of the last decade.

Crowd Noise?

The entire opening ceremony of the All-Star Game was a rousing one. The special effects were fantastic, the national anthems were majestic, heck even the little kids dancing managed to induce a smile. The issue came when the players were introduced to the usually ravenous Madison Square Garden crowd. Call me a conspiracy theorist all you want but you expect me to believe that the crowd at the Garden didnt overtly boo any player that was introduced? All I heard was the same lukewarm cheer for everyone and after a while it sounded like canned laughter off a bad sitcom. It might be too early to start talking #cheergate, but something isnt right if I cant hear any boos for LeBron James or Dwayne Wade. Just saying.

LeBrons Air Ball

LeBron had a pretty successful All-Star Game. He suspassed Michael Jordan and is second all-time in scoring in All-Star Game history, but theres no excusing this shot. Even the unusually tame Madison Square Garden crowd peppered James with a few chants of air ball.

Theremighthave been a missed dunk too

Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber announces resignation

PORTLAND, Ore. When the end finally came, the most ubiquitous politician in the history of Oregon had all but disappeared from public view.

Gov. John Kitzhaber (D) retreated from the State Capitol on Friday afternoon and announced his resignation in a letter, completing the sudden unraveling of his political career. Just one month after becoming the first Oregon governor to start a fourth term in office, Kitzhaber became the first to resign because of alleged misconduct, as he and his fiancee, Cylvia Hayes, continue to be investigated for misusing their influence for personal financial gain.

His resignation will take effect Wednesday, at which point Secretary of State Kate Brown (D) will replace Kitzhaber, becoming the first openly bisexual governor in U.S. history.

I have always tried to do the right thing and now the right thing to do is to step aside, Kitzhaber wrote in his statement.

For most of the tumultuous week leading up to his resignation, Kitzhaber seemed unsure about his own future. He twice made plans to resign, then changed his mind. He admitted making mistakes in judgment but later said he hadnt.

Even in his final, defiant statement of resignation, Kitzhaber remained inconsistent, first saying that he had become a liability to the very institutions and policies to which I have dedicated my career but adding that he was confident he had not been dishonest or dishonorable and would be cleared of all wrongdoing.

The governor spent 30 years as the popular stalwart of Oregon politics, only to watch nearly all of his supporters fall away as he tried to hang on to his job in the final days. The states attorney general launched a criminal investigation into allegations of public corruption. His allies in the Democratic Party held a news conference calling for his resignation. Brown, his successor, called his behavior strange and bizarre. Members of Kitzhabers staff quit before he decided to do so himself.

By the end of the week, the most significant relationship Kitzhaber had left was also the one that had led to so many problems: his engagement to Hayes, a clean-energy consultant and the governors longtime girlfriend. I am in love, Kitzhaber said often during the past weeks. It seemed to be both a statement of fact and his most cogent explanation for all that had gone wrong.

The story of Kitzhabers sudden undoing was also the story of his relationship with Hayes, who has lived with him in the governors mansion for several years and who often refers to herself as the first lady. An ethics commission and the attorney general are investigating charges that Hayes used her relationship with the governor to earn tens of thousands of dollars from private organizations to perform contracting work as a clean-energy consultant while also advising the governor on those issues for the state. On Thursday, the U.S. attorneys office in Portland filed subpoenas seeking state records and electronic communications relating to Kitzhaber, Hayes and 15 others in the governors administration, the Associated Press reported.

The apparent conflict of interest was just the latest allegation in a relationship saga that has dominated the news cycle here for several months.

Kitzhabers scandal seemed uniquely fitted to Oregon, a place of progressive politics and low-key politicians where the governor once dressed for his inauguration in blue jeans. The first couples strange downfall involved accusations of a marijuana-growing operation and economic zealotry, with one of the biggest conflicts of interest revolving around an attempt to popularize a new economic measure called the Genuine Progress Indicator.

In his resignation statement, even Kitzhaber seemed surprised and hurt that political scandal had made its way to good-government Oregon, writing that the events of the last weeks were something we might expect in Washington, D.C., but surely not in Oregon and saying that he was troubled on a very personal level that so many of his longtime allies had turned against him and his fiancee.

It was only in August that Kitzhaber, 67, proposed to Hayes, 47, with an eco-friendly ring on the banks of the Rogue River. An announcement through a spokeswoman said the couple could not be happier or more excited. In the months since, their engagement has been disrupted by the ethics commission review, two recall campaigns, a criminal investigation, a possible FBI inquiry and a series of personal embarrassments. First Hayes admitted to a fraudulent marriage in 1997 with an 18-year-old undocumented immigrant who paid her $5,000 to help legalize his status. Then she admitted to having purchased a property in rural Washington state, also in the late 1990s, where she had hoped to grow large quantities of marijuana.

Through it all, Kitzhaber defended Hayes and their engagement, even as some of his allies framed his future as a choice between maintaining his relationship and saving his career. Late last month, during the first news conference of his fourth term, he spent the entire 20 minutes talking about the most tumultuous love story in the history of Oregon politics. He winced into the cameras. He stammered until his voice went hoarse and asked an assistant for water.

He spoke about their common interests: climate change being one, low carbon fuels being one, measuring outcomes and metrics being another, he said.

He addressed their apparent conflicts of interest: We have attempted to draw a very clear line between her public role and her outside work.

He announced his final assessment. Marriage is still on, yes, he said. I have no regrets over my personal relationship with Cylvia Hayes. She is a wonderful lady.

Theirs has been an unlikely and unconventional romance. Kitzhaber is an Ivy League- educated physician who served in the states House of Representatives and Senate before rising to governor; Hayes was raised in abject poverty outside Seattle, in a house with no running water or electricity, and dropped out of school and ran away from home at 16.

During Kitzhabers first term as governor in the late 1990s, Hayes was broke and desperate in Washington state, sometimes living out of her car and bathing in a pond. She worked at a chicken plant and drove heavy machinery. She eventually fled an abusive relationship, moving to Oregon with her two dogs and living for a time in a tent on government land.

Hayes put herself through college at age 26 and then earned a masters degree in sustainability. She came to Oregon to start a nonprofit environmental advocacy group. She ran for state office in 2002 and lost, but she met Kitzhaber during the campaign. The two, both already married and divorced twice, started to date, going on trips together to ride horses and fly-fish.

When Kitzhaber decided to run for a third term as governor in 2010 after several years out of office, he made environmental sustainability a major part of his campaign platform. He won election and made Hayes an official but unpaid adviser, focusing heavily on clean energy, even as she continued to get lucrative contracts to push environmental policies for private companies. She sometimes worked from a desk in the governors office. She traveled to give clean-energy speeches and introduced herself as the first lady.

In many of those speeches, Hayes framed her relationship with the governor as proof of how quickly a life could transform. I mean, can you believe it? she said once, referring to the unlikelihood of a woman who had once lived on government land moving into the governors mansion.

Everything can change so fast, she said then. A decade later, their relationship has again proved that.
