The Kardashians are caught up in drama again, after brother Rob Kardashian was rushed to hospital over the weekend.
According to reports, after telling his famous family he wasnt feeling well, the 28-year-olds condition worsened and he was rushed to hospital. Doctors then ran a series of tests and Rob, who has been battling a weight problem, was soon diagnosed with diabetes.
While the celebs condition has now stabilised he remains in hospital.
The Kardashians have admitted theyre worried about reclusive Robs health.Hes gained over 100 pounds in the last year, Kris Jenner revealed in April of her son, who hasnt been seen out in public since June. I feel like if I dont help him do something drastic that hes gonna die.
Big sister Kim has been less sympathetic. Its not that mysterious, whats happening with Rob, she said in July. He has gained weight. He feels uncomfortable being on the show, and thats OK.
Do I think he smokes weed, drinks beer, hangs out and plays video games with his friends all day long? Yes.Hopefully this diabetes drama is the wake up call Rob needs to get healthy!
One of the few EGOTs in showbiz-award terms, Rita Moreno is now an EGOTK or, she laughs, How about KEGOT? The owner of two Emmys, a Grammy, an Oscar (for West Side Story) and a Tony, the veteran actress-singer now has another major accolade: the Kennedy Center Honors.
Earlier this month, Moreno and her fellow recipients singersongwriter Carole King, filmmaker George Lucas, conductor Seiji Ozawa and actress Cicely Tyson were feted at the 38th annual event in Washington, D.C. CBS gives the performing-arts-celebrating program its traditional telecast Tuesday, with Stephen Colbert reprising his role from last year as host.
Initially scheduled to receive the latest Honors as well, musics Eagles will be recognized in the 2016 edition, owing to Glenn Freys inability to participate this year. President Barack Obama joined the First Lady and the honorees late, since he gave a televised address the night of the taping, but he and his wife had hosted a related White House reception before the Honors.
In an interview for this article, Moreno discussed the significance of receiving the Kennedy Center Honors (being overseen by new producers this year) as she energetically continues her career encompassing her recently released Spanish-language recording Una Vez Mas, her voice work on the animated Sprout series Ninas World, and an American Songbook concert shell perform at New Yorks Lincoln Center in January.
Q&A
Q: What do you think of the Kennedy Center Honors-receiving company that youre in?
A: Its astonishing! Were together for several days, not just at the event thats televised, but there also are a wonderful dinner hosted by Secretary of State John Kerry and luncheons up the wazoo. Its just an insanely busy, wonderful time. And the honorees are so diverse, theres someone to please everybody.
Q: How is it to be in the company of President Obama?
A: If you look us up together, with both our names, youll see a bunch of pictures where hes putting a medal (the National Medal of Arts) around my neck. And I hug him! I just impulsively grabbed him he has such a dazzling smile, that man and then I looked at his wife in the audience and shrugged my shoulders as if to say, Sorry.
Q: How were you first notified that you were receiving the Honors?
A: It was my manager. He called me up and said, Are you sitting down? I said, Should I? And he said, I think so. Then he told me, and I just came out with such a shriek and a whoop and I started to do a dance, with the phone in my hand. And my feet have not touched the ground since then. With something as wonderful as this, I cannot be cool or reserved.
Q: Does receiving the Kennedy Center Honors make you reflective about your career?
A: With something as astonishing as this, the first thing that happens is that my heart and my head immediately go to Puerto Rico, and I see myself as a little girl playing with these frogs in my hometown with a big, fat bow on my head, because my mother used to make them. I think, Who would have thought this? and it makes me feel very humble. And it reminds me again of what an amazing country this is, that this can happen. Im very moved by all of this.
Q: How do you feel about the endurance of West Side Story, which won the Oscar for best picture of 1961, and your performance in it?
A: Its amazing! I still hear about it, from people my age and recently from younger people who have seen it; Turner Classic Movies plays it all the time, but the true experience is to see it on the big screen. Im reminded then of the enormity of earning that Oscar, and I also got a Golden Globe for it. (Fellow West Side Story Oscar winner) George Chakiris is still a dear friend, and hes my daughters godfather.
In fact, Im still very close to some of the I call them the kids, which is hilarious, because some of them now have paunches and bald heads. But dancers are always the kids, and whenever Im in Los Angeles, we try to arrange an evening together. I guess its because we bonded in a way that most casts do not. Weve all stuck together, Im very happy to say.
Guns N Roses, with founding members Axl Rose and Slash, will headline the Coachella Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif., set for April 15-17 and April 22-24, according to multiple sources. The reunited band is also negotiating with promoters to play as many as 25 football stadiums in North America in the summer of 2016, and is scheduled to be one of the first acts to play the new Las Vegas Arena, set to open April 6. Guns N" Roses is said to be asking as much as $3 million per show, with tickets topping out in the $250-$275 range.
The last show Axl Rose and Slash played together was on July 17, 1993 at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires. Guns N" Roses" most recent tour, which only included Axl Rose from the original lineup, took place primarily in South America and The Joint in Las Vegas, grossing $15.2 million.
Slash Opens Door to Guns N" Roses Reunion
Representatives for the band, as well as Coachella producer Paul Tollett and agent Ken Fermaglich at United Talent Agency, could not be reached for comment. Executives at AEG, which will operate the new Vegas arena, also did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The band"s first album, Appetite for Destruction, is the biggest-selling debut in U.S. history, with 18 million sold. It spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, and launched the No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 single "Sweet Child O" Mine." They have sold 44.5 million albums total in the U.S., according to the Recording Industry Association of America.
Billboard"s confirmation comes on the heels of two rumor-inducing hints dropped over the past week, the first a cryptic update to the Guns N" Roses website and the second during screenings of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, where footage of a concert crowd was shown with GN"R music overdubbed. Though longtime fans may be understandably wary after the decade-plus wait for Chinese Democracy, which became a totem of sorts to frontman Axl Rose"s sometimes unpredictable behavior, this reunion bears no sign of that record"s bumpy road.
Coachella has a pedigree for coaxing much-loved acts out of retirement, or being the linchpin to plans that had already been simmering. The fest has previously hosted the reunions of Rage Against The Machine in 2007, My b****y Valentine in 2009, Pulp in 2012 and Outkast in 2014 -- not to mention Tupac"s posthumous return to the stage in 2012. Guns N" Roses will arrive a year after two other legendary acts, AC/DC and Steely Dan, headlined the 2015 edition. Last year"s edition drew 198,000 to the California desert, generating $84.2 million in revenue, according to Boxscore.
The Tony Award-winning hit "Beautiful - The Carole King Musical" is playing at the Oriental Theatre for an extended 12-week limited engagement Dec. 1, 2015 - Feb. 21, 2016.
"Beautiful-The Carole King Musical" is a smash-hit musical about the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter.
Chicago native, Abby Mueller, stops by Windy City LIVE to talk about the show and perform "Will You Still Love Me." Mueller"s sister, Jessie Mueller, won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 2014 her portrayal of King in the show"s Broadway production.
Long before she was Carole King, chart-topping music legend, she was Carol Klein, Brooklyn girl with passion and chutzpah. She fought her way into the record business as a teenager and, by the time she reached her twenties, had the husband of her dreams and a flourishing career writing hits for the biggest acts in rock "n" roll. But it wasn"t until her personal life began to crack that she finally managed to find her true voice.
"Beautiful" tells the inspiring true story of King"s remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history. Along the way, she made more than beautiful music, she wrote the soundtrack to a generation.
Please settle a disagreement. What was the first song Carole King recorded?
Bob B., Worcester, Mass.
A: The Grammy-winning singer-songwriters firstofficial recording was her 1958 single The Right Girl, which didnt chart. She kept writing songs for others, like Will You Love Me Tomorrow, a No. 1 hit in 1961 for the Shirelles. It wasnt until King released the album Tapestry in 1971 that she became a singing star herself. This month, the native New Yorker, 73, was among the recipients of one of the arts highestaccolades at the 38th Annual Kennedy Center Honors, airing Dec. 29on CBS.
New York- Two months ago, former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson publicly endorsed Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for U.S. President.
He should be president of the United States, Tyson told HuffPost LivesAlex Mirandaduring an interview about his Adult Swim showMike Tyson Mysteries.
According to Tyson, the country needs a business-minded leader to take over after President Obama, and he feels that Trump is perfect for the position.
Lets try something new. Lets run America like a business, where no colors matter. Whoever can do the job, gets the job, Tyson said.
When asked by host Miranda if he would officially endorse Trump, the American former boxer did not even hesitate to say, yes!
I would [endorse him], yeah. I like Trump, he said with conviction.
Donald Trump has allegedly assisted and supported Mike Tysons career in the past. Photographs of the pair can be found from his championship days.
Tyson had four wins by knockout at the Trump Plaza Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey back in 1985-1986. It seems like the former champ is returning the favor with his controversial endorsement.
The real estate mogul has lashed out at the Latino community, calling Mexicans rapists and drug addicts among other insults.
He proposed that Muslim Americans carry a special identification card in the U.S. His anti-Muslim rhetoric has gone when he called for banning all Muslims from entering the United States.
The 49-year-old former boxer converted to Islam during his time in prison back in 1992. He made a trip to Mecca and married the daughter of a Muslim scholar.
During a television interview in 2008, Tyson admitted that he does not follow the Muslim tradition like he should (such as not always praying five times a day), adding that Islam is a very big part of his life.
Being a Muslim is who I am as a person, he said, admitting that being a Muslim has made him a better individual.
What will Mike Tyson say now about Donald Trump? Will he keep endorsing the man who does not want Muslims in America, or will he defend his faith and the millions of Muslim Americans who feel targeted with the hate speech championed by by his candidate-friend.
Tysons endorsement of Trump went viral with many social media users lashing out at him.
He said where no color matters? Donald trump has used racist scare tactics as a means to win votes that alone should be means for him to be disqualified! But also every person has freedom of speech, a Facebook user said.
Other users, doubt that Tyson he will still endorse the GOP candidate after his anti-Muslim comments.
This was before Trump went full-out r****d and insulted Muslims. I doubt Mike would vote for him now, Mike Tyson being a Muslim convert, a user posted.
Breaking News: Eagles Release Head Coach Chip Kelly | NFL News
By: Jason Lisk| 9 hours agoFollow @jasonlisk
Chip Kelly is out in Philadelphia. His reign of terror in the City of Brotherly Love has come to a swiftly-guillotined end. Things starting going south last year, as the offense began to regress and the Eagles went from 9-3 to out of the playoffs. This year, after Kelly won a power struggle behind the scenes, his moves faltered and he paid the price.
He never could get a really good quarterback, and that was at least in part his fault. Sure, the Eagles werent in a position to draft a franchise QB, and they dont go on trees, but he went in on Sam Bradford this year in a trade, after signing Mark Sanchez (who has still been awful), and riding Nick Foles. That, along with jettisoning other talent on offense (that didnt meld personality-wise) led to the offensive demise.
DeMarco Murray Reportedly Told Jeffrey Lurie He Had No Confidence in Chip Kelly as a Coach10hr ago
Even with all that, the Eagles are 9th in Net Yards per Pass Attempt since the start of 2013 season. Look at the other teams on the list in front of Philadelphia and directly behind them, in terms of who the primary quarterback during that success has been. Its not even close in terms of doing more with less, personnel-wise, than what the Eagles have done with who theyve had at the most important position.
Of course, theres one team out there with a top QB prospect and a supporting cast set up to have more success than theyve shown to date. Its one that ranks solidly behind the Eagles in terms of passing production over the last three years. And no, Im not talking about the Tennessee Titans. Plenty of folks will point to the Mariota connection, and the Titans having a high pick.
Indianapolis Colts are the Most Painful Team to Watch in the NFL This Year3w ago
But if Im Kelly, Im angling for the Colts job. Maybe dont go down the road of trying to find success from someone like Sam Bradford or Mark Sanchez again, Chip. Andrew Luck is in place. T.Y. Hilton, Donte Moncrief, and Philip Dorsett are in place and dont seem to be as abrasive in the locker room as DeSean Jackson (and yes, removing that type of playmaker cost the Eagles dearly, and hopefully Chip learned that). Your #1 hurdle to longevity and success is removed.
Add in that Indianapolis is arguably even bigger of a disappointment than the Eagles. In the division they are in, what they have done this year is a major letdown, even with the Luck injury. Chuck Pagano and Ryan Grigson are at odds. If you think that Kelly made poor decisions with personnel, consider where the Colts roster is with Grigsons major decisions (Luck was a no-brainer).
This is the opportunity for Jim Irsay to clean house, bring in a new personnel person to work with Kelly (dont let him shop for the groceries on defense) and embark on the next era. Im confident that Kelly can work in the NFL if he learns from his mistakes and gets a QB.
Barring that, I think his other move (and this assumes that the Eagles would be on the hook for his coaching salary) is not to rush it and go into television for a year, charm the establishment and the media. He can be a funny guy and I think he would play well on TV. ESPN and the other networks would crave him. His demand for a NFL job wont be any worse a year from now, and he can sit back and take stock, and h**l also have the college options as a leverage point (even though Kelly insists he still wants to coach in the NFL).
After that, I would rank his options as:
3) Tennessee with the Mariota connection, and cap space and young team with small media market and suppressed expectations;
4) San Francisco, if they want to give Colin Kaepernick another go and move on from the easily-replaceable Jim Tomsula;
5) Miami, where he could see if he could get something out of Ryan Tannehill and look like a genius.
6-98) anywhere else outside of Ohio;
..
99) the Browns.
