Despite a rather large field of GOP presidential candidates, few have made their faith a cornerstone of their campaign like Dr. Ben Carson has.
While on the campaign trail, Dr. Ben Carson has made it clear that he isnt afraid to talk openly about his faith and wont shy away from challenging those that want to rid America of their Christian history.
Earlier today, Dr. Carson issued a challenge to Americans, urging them to use Facebook and change their profile picture to include the words, In G*d We Trust.
Regardless of how you feel about Dr. Carsons presidential bid, it is refreshing to see a politician courageously share his faith during a time in which Christianity is under fireas clearly evident by some of the responses below:
Do you support keeping In G*d We Trust as a fundamental part of how we govern America? Take Dr. Ben Carsons challenge and spread the word!
LA Clippers vs Sacramento Kings | Full Game Highlights | January 16 2016 | 2015-16 NBA SEASON
The Clippers won a wild one after almost losing it,pulling out a 140-132 victory in overtime against the Houston Rockets on Monday night at Staples Center. Here are five takeaways from the game:
1. J.J. Redick made just about everything. He was 11 of 19 overall and a more impressive nine of 12 from three-point range on the way to a career-high 40 points. Most telling might have been his expression after making the three-pointer that put the Clippers up by six points early in the overtime. Its funny, he misses two and he thinks its the end of the world and then he makes the last one and he looked around like, I hadnt made one all day, Clippers Coach Doc Rivers said. I mean, if you hadnt seen the game and you saw his reaction you wouldnt think he had made a shot all game and he was nine for 12 from three. I guess that tells you hes a perfectionist. Redick, who has now made 50% of his three-pointers this season, said there have been discussions about him participating in the three-point contest as part of All-Star weekend next month in Toronto. Its one of those things I dont know whats going on, really, Redick said. Theres a lot of variables, from what Ive been told.
2. The Clippers won a game they could have easily have lost. It felt like a repeat of Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals toward the end as the Clippers lost a 14-point lead over the last 4:17 of regulation. We were running the clock out on offense, we werent getting back on defense, we didnt match up on defense and we allowed them to get back in the game and then they made shots, Rivers said. Our execution down the stretch the last couple of plays was poor. Luc Mbah a Moute committed a foul before the Clippers wanted, leading to a pair of free throws by Trevor Ariza with 11 seconds left in regulation, and then the Clippers failed to adequately defend Marcus Thornton on the tying three-pointer, the last of the Rockets 42 points in the fourth quarter. You cant play with fire like that, Rivers said. Typically, you dont win games like that. The Clippers emerged winners after holding the Rockets to 10 points in the overtime. What I liked about it was everyone was furious going into overtime and we came out, got our composure and played well, Rivers said. So thats the best sign for your team.

3. DeAndre Jordan looked great in his return from a two-game absence caused by pneumonia. I was going to try to play [the last two games], but it was tough, Jordan said after getting 16 points to go with 15 rebounds in 41 minutes. I couldnt stand up, so I knew I wouldnt be very effective. It was pretty bad. Jordan looked lively in scoring the games first points on a putback dunk, but Rivers, mindful of Jordans recent illness, subbed him out for Cole Aldrich midway through the first quarter, much earlier than usual. The thing is, Rivers said of Jordan before the game, hes an energy player so what Im going to have to judge is, does he have any energy? And if he does, h**l keep playing. He kept playing.
4. The three-pointer continues to be extra valuable to the Clippers. They made a franchise-record 22 against the Rockets, with Redick (nine) and Paul (five) leading the way. Paul Pierce and Wesley Johnson added three apiece. We did have a lot of good looks and we made them, Rivers said. But you can show up in a gym sometimes without defense and not make that many. We have guys who can make threes; we made them tonight. Rockets Coach J.B. Bickerstaff said Jordans presence in the interior opened up the outside looks for the Clippers. With the threat of DeAndre at the rim, youre worried about the lob all the time, Bickerstaff said. We were just late, we were trying to protect the basket and so we were late getting out to them.
5. Blake Griffin appears doubtful to make his return against Cleveland on Thursday. Blake is looking a lot better, Rivers said. I personally doubt it, but I know he wants to. Hes going to give it a try, but I personally doubt he makes that game. I think theres a better chance now h**l play on the road trip, I just cant tell you when. The Clippers will have four games left on the trip after playing the Cavaliers and have fared just fine without the All-Star power forward, winning nine of 10 games since Griffin was diagnosed with a partially torn left quadriceps tendon.

A daughter of human rights activist Malcolm X stood at a podium, looking out at a sea of faces Sunday at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Burlington during an annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day remembrance.
Ilyasah al Shabazz smiled andsaid she used to visit Vermont when she was a young girl to attend camp in Pittsford. At that time, Vermonters she met were not accustomed to meeting black people, and she was very aware of the color of her skin, she said.
"They used to touch our hair and they would touch our skin, and it was just something new," Shabazz said. "I"m really astonished to see so many colorful faces here today."
Shabazz provided the keynote address for the annual remembrance, organized by the Greater Burlington Multicultural Resource Center. The one-hour program also included performances by the New Alpha Missionary Children"s Choir of Burlington and the Montreal West Gospel Choir. Mayor Miro Weinberger also attended to provide an update on the city"s diversity plan and introduce Shabazz.
Shabazz"s remarks touched on her experiences growing up with Malcolm X as a father and Dr. Betty Shabazz as a mother, and how she came to see the world as the "daughter of two great leaders."

Shabazz, one of six daughters of Malcolm X, is now an educator, social activist and motivational speaker, and she has written several books about her life and her family. She was three years old when her father was assassinated in 1965, she said.
Shabazz encouraged young people to continue speaking out against hatred and injustice, andto seek out solutions to the problems, as did her father and Dr. King. Shabazz said her father was in his 20s when he began traveling the world and speaking to other leaders about human rights and social justice.
"As protesters, this generation of young people expressed discontent and skillfully used social media to organize, galvanize and educate the masses on the important human rights issues," Shabazz said. "What we must understand is just because we"ve tweeted a social media hashtag, it does not end there. It does not make you an activist, or a social change agent. You must have a well-thought-out plan, a strategy for getting from point A to Z, colleagues to discuss and assign leadership roles to your task at hand."

Compassion, humanity and equalitywere large parts of thevisions of Malcolm Xand Dr. King, Shabazzsaid ideas which still have not been fully implementedyears later. Those behaviorsmust be taught as children grow, so they might learn to work together and give back to their world, Shabazz said.
"We teach our children to hate, and if we teach our children to hate someone else, then in actuality we"re teaching them to hate themselves," Shabazz said.
She later added, "I believe that every child must have the opportunity to be their greatest selves, to conquer all obstacles that stand in their way, to be inspired, motivated, and truly believe they are worthy of quality education, so that each and every one of us is properly prepared and recognizes his or her true value."

Speaking in 2010 about his diagnosis, Griffin said the disease hadhad a huge effect on his life.
Supporting an Alzheimer"s Society campaign, he said: "I used tobe fearless, but Alzheimer"s has stopped me in my tracks. It is mydreadful little bug and I have to fight to keep it from controlling me.
"Alzheimer"s has prevented me from doing a lot of the things Ilove - like reading and writing - but I try to keep as relaxed andeasygoing as possible."
He told how people began to avoid him because they felt awkward.
He added: "It is really important for people to "remember theperson" and look beyond someone"s diagnosis of dementia. Many oldfriends now avoid me as they do not know what to say, which is really hurtful.
"I just wish they would realise that inside, I am still thesame old "Buffin" I always was."
