Ariel Winter praised for strapless SAG Awards gown that showed surgery scars

Ariel Winter - Opens Up About Why She Opted for Breast Reduction - GMA

LOS ANGELES (KABC) --

"Modern Family" star Ariel Winter received major praise for what she decided to wear to the SAG Awards.

She is quickly becoming an inspiration to teens everywhere, especially with her body positivity. The 18-year-old actress recently went public with her decision to have breast reduction surgery.

While attending the SAG Awards, she wore a strapless black down and photographers were quick to notice they could see her scars from the operation.

Reaction to the look has been mostly positive, but some viewers criticized her and thought she should have covered up.

But many praised her for bearing her scars and embracing her decision to have the surgery.

Winter took to Twitter to explain why she didn"t cover up.

Body shaming was partially why she decided to have the surgery last summer, after facing cyber bullying and dealing with what she said was "excruciating back pain."

Trump Hits Cruz for "Fraud," Calls for Do-Over in Iowa

"Hillary Clinton: Bernie Sanders Is ‘Trying to Divert Attention" | NBC Nightly News

Less than 48 hours after an Iowa caucus defeat, Donald Trump is calling for a do-over. The New York business man accused the Ted Cruz campaign of fraudulent activities during the Iowa caucuses, after controversial voter mailers and reports that Cruz staffers lied to caucus goers by indicating Dr. Ben Carson was dropping out in order to gain votes for Cruz. Cruz has since called for the firing of those people and apologized.

Trump took to Twitter to air his grievances against what he called Cruz"s "fraud" and in subsequent tweets made the case for why he believed "a new election should take place or Cruz results nullified."

Cruz won Iowa with 28 percent of the vote with Trump finishing second at 24 percent. Trump, who was polling just ahead of Cruz in the days before the Iowa caucus, has argued that his second place finish was actually a success, especially when he was warned early on that he "would be lucky" to make the top 10 there, he told crowds in Milford, NH Monday night. "We did really well," Trump assured his supporters. But despite touting his success, it seems Trump is still trying to tear his rivals" wins down.

Responding to Trump"s tweets, Cruz spokesperson Rick Tyler said, "reality has hit the reality star. Since Iowa, no one is talking about Donald Trump. That"s why he"s popping off on Twitter. There are Twitter addiction therapy groups, and he should check in with his local chapter."

And Cruz responded with his own Tweet:

NASCAR great Tony Stewart hospitalized with back injury

NASCAR"s Tony Stewart Fights With A Heckler At Chili Bowl After Racing Fan Flips Him Off(VIDEO)!!!!

CHARLOTTE, N.C. Three-time NASCAR champion Tony Stewart was hospitalized Tuesday with a back injury and Stewart-Haas Racing said the team was unsure of the extent of his injuries just a week before he is expected in Daytona to prepare for his final season in Sprint Cup.

The 44-year-old Stewart was injured Sunday during an accident while he was riding an all-terrain vehicle somewhere on the West Coast, SHR spokesman Mike Arning told The Associated Press. He was being evaluated at an undisclosed hospital and able to move all extremities.

Arning indicated Stewarts condition will not be updated again until Thursday. Stewart was in Arizona on Saturday night at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale and interviewed on live television from the event.

Stewart is retiring at the end of this NASCAR season, and he was due to report next week to Daytona International Speedway to begin preparing for the Feb. 21 Daytona 500.

We have received word from Stewart-Haas Racing of Tony Stewarts accident and injury, NASCAR chairman Brian France said in a statement. On behalf of everyone at NASCAR, I wish Tony a full recovery and look forward to seeing him back in our sport when hes ready to return.

Stewart turns 45 in May and missed a third of the 2013 season with a broken leg he sustained in a sprint car accident. A year later, his car struck and killed a fellow driver at a dirt track in New York. Stewart was cleared of any criminal wrongdoing, but faces a civil suit from the family of Kevin Ward Jr.

Stewart spoke last month of his excitement over his upcoming final season, and said hed likely return to racing in non-NASCAR events upon his retirement. He has not competed in anything out of a Sprint Cup race since Wards death in 2014.

But he also spoke of what hed like to accomplish in this final season with a focus on winning his first Daytona 500. Stewart is 0-17 in the crown jewel event and came heartbreakingly close to winning it several times during his career. It remains one of the few holes on a resume that includes the three championships, 48 victories and more than $122 million in winnings.

He goes into the year with a new crew chief his third change since he won the title in 2011 and hopes to find some success on the track after three long years. Both the injury to his leg and Wards death took a toll on Stewart, and he has not won a race since 2013, before he was injured.

Stewart was 28th in the final Sprint Cup standings last year with three top-10 finishes and 24 laps led, both career lows.

Speaking to reporters at the Rolex 24 at Daytona last week, AJ Foyt expressed sympathy for Stewart and said the driver has not gotten over Wards death. Stewart considers Foyt his hero and idolized the four-time Indianapolis 500 winner as a child.

I feel sorry for Tony, I think people dont realize that wreck really hurt him more, Foyt said. Hes really a soft-hearted person and something like that really bothers you. I know I had an accident years ago when I ran IMC and a guy ran through the cockpit with me and threw me out on the race track and he lost his life. That bugged me and I had nothing to do with it.

Things like that bother you for a long time. If you dont have no feelings, it wouldnt bother you but Tonys got a lot of feelings. And I just hope he goes out on top.

"Moonshiners" star convicted of possessing an illegal firearm

Part 4 of the 9 p.m. Fox News-Google GOP Presidential Debate

A Virginia man known for his role on the television show "Moonshiners" has been convicted of possessing an illegal firearm.

The Danville Register & Bee reports that 39-year-old Steven Ray Tickle of Blairs was found guilty Thursday in Pittsylvania County Circuit Court of possession or use of a saw-offed shotgun or rifle.

Prosecutor Bryan Haskins says a deputy spotted the weapon inside Tickle"s truck during a traffic stop July 12.

Attorney Joe Garrett says Tickle was in a vehicle on his own property. Haskins says the deputy began the traffic stop on the highway and Tickle pulled into his own driveway. Garrett says there was no search warrant or consent to search.

Tickle stars in the Discovery Channel series, which depicts how the liquor moonshine is made.

Carson accuses Cruz camp of spreading false rumors on campaign suspension

Part 4 of the 9 p.m. Fox News-Google GOP Presidential Debate

Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson on Tuesday pointedly accused Ted Cruzs campaign of spreading false rumors during the Iowa caucuses claiming the retired neurosurgeon was suspending his bid, in a coordinated effort to seal Cruzs victory Monday night.

The stunning charge came as a Carson spokesman declared, There has never been a more tainted victory in the Iowa caucuses.

Early reports that Carson who was directly competing with Cruz for social conservative and evangelical supporters was leaving the campaign trail started to surface as caucusing began Monday evening.

Upon hearing reports that their candidate was leaving the trail to return to his home in Florida, Team Carson responded swiftly, saying the retired neurosurgeon was only going home for clean clothes but was then headed to New Hampshire for the Feb. 9 primary.

But Carson told Fox News Tuesday morning that Cruz supporters and representatives took that narrative a step further, and began telling caucus-goers at many precincts that he was dropping out.

Speaking on Fox News Hannity, Cruz apologized on Tuesday. He said their political team had forwarded an initial news report that said Carson was taking a break from the campaign trail, but did not forward an update to that same story.

Unfortunately, they did not then forward the subsequent story, that was Bens campaign clarifying that he was continuing the campaign and was not canceling the campaign, Cruz said. And so I apologize to Ben for that. They should have forwarded that subsequent story. That was a mistake on our part.

Carson"s campaign issued a statement Tuesday evening saying he "accepted" Cruz"s apology.

On Tuesday morning, Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler also told MSNBC that the campaign simply repeated what Carson had said: that after Iowa, he was returning to Florida for a couple of days, then going to Washington for the National Prayer Breakfast.

That told us he was not going to New Hampshire, Tyler said. That was not a dirty trick.

Carson, interviewed earlier on Fox & Friends, said that his supporters were told Monday that voting for me was wasting their vote, and that they should reconsider.

Carson ended up finishing a distant fourth in Iowa, with 9 percent, while Cruz claimed a big victory over Donald Trump. Cruz, a Texas senator, had 28 percent, and Trump had 24 percent. How much the drop-out rumors may have affected that count is unclear. But the interactive caucus process does offer an opportunity for supporters of one candidate to be persuaded to change sides before casting their ballot.

The usually mild-mannered Carson accused the other side of using the process to execute dirty tricks.

Its the exact thing the American people are tired of, he said. Why would we want to continue with this kind of shenanigans?

He said his suspicions were also confirmed by tweets, other correspondence, and a first-hand experience by his wife at a precinct.

Carson said his wife Candy arrived at the precinct to learn that a Cruz supporter was disseminating the misinformation and was asked to set straight the record.

She did, and we won that precinct, he said.

One of the tweets, Carson noted, came from Rep. Steve King, a Cruz supporter and an influential Iowa Republican.

King later tweeted that he respects Carson and regrets any "miscommunications."

Carson said if Cruz was unaware of the tactics, then he should find out who was involved and fire them. And if Cruz knew about the effort, he should admit his involvement and offer a solution, Carson said.

The Cruz campaign is also taking heat for a mailer it sent out to potential voters before caucus night that seemingly accused them of voting violations.

Tyler earlier told MSNBC that Iowans are used to getting similar ones and that the campaign modeled ours after them.

Report: Warriors heavy favorites if Kevin Durant leaves Thunder

Kevin Durant The Offseason Full Documentary

The Golden State Warriors are significant favorites to sign Kevin Durant should he leave the Oklahoma City Thunder as a free agent this summer, reports Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski.

Durant becomes an unrestricted free agent for the first time at the end of the season, and though he is reportedly far from a decision to leave the Thunder, the 27-year-old forward will have a serious suitor in the defending champion, 444 Warriors.

Wojnarowski reports Warriors forwardDraymond Green, one of the teams leaders, is behind the potential push for Durant in an unflinching manner. Fitting him into Golden States salary situation would take some maneuvering, most likely including the departures of forwards Harrison Barnes and Andre Iguodala, for cap purposes. But from a financial standpoint, the Warriors in theory have the flexibility to make a serious bid for Durant.

WOO:Everything you need to know about Kevin Durants free agency

Oh man, thats part of the business, Barnes told the San Francisco Chronicles Rusty Simmons. Hes a great player. If thats the move they want to make, you know, hopefully, it works out.

Washington, Houston and Miami are all expected to be suitors and have been tied to Durant previously. Wojnarowski reports the Clippers can be added to that mix, and that the Lakersare an extreme long shot.

Warriors continue to build case as best NBA team of all time

SI staff writer Ben Golliver breaks down the Golden State Warriors" blowout victory over the San Antonio Spurs and explains why it"ll be difficult for any team to knock off the Warriors in Oakland.

Durant will team with Green, reigning MVP Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson as teammates during next weekends All-Star festivities, and has also trained with them as part of USA Basketball.

WOO: Latest Power Rankings: Warriors have a real shot at 72 wins

Adding one of the NBAs top players to its top team would be a major shakeup to the league landscape. Durant becomes a free agent on July 1.
