Pittsburgh Penguins: In The Room / Forging an Identity
In the social media age, many people mark their baby"s growth over the first year of life with monthly photos in decorative onesie. Some even pose babies next to the same stuffed animal each month to show how much the baby grew. But Pittsburgh Penguins forward Nick Bonino has a unique twist on that trend.
He is marking the Penguins" progress through the playoffs with photos of his newborn daughter, Maisie. The little girl was born on January 5, and by April, she was ready to assist her dad with playoff coverage. This was Maisie on April 2 when the Penguins clinched a playoff spot.
Three weeks later, the Penguins topped their first-round opponent, the New York Rangers, and Maisie celebrated by rocking a Penguins outfit.
By the time the Penguins beat the Washington Capitals in the second round of the postseason, Maisie celebrated her four-month birthday and was ready to attempt to befriend a Penguin, although she seemed skeptical of the animal at the time.
It took just two weeks for Maisie to realize penguins are alright after all. Meanwhile, her dad and his Pittsburgh teammates beat out the Tampa Bay Lightning to make it to the Stanley Cup Finals.
Should the Penguins win the Cup, it seems like Maisie is destined to become one of the many babies through the years who has been propped up inside of the Cup for a parent-pleasing photo. But win or lose, these photos should make for a unique baby book.

"Mistresses" is the epitome of soapy summer fun, with gorgeous women having torrid affairs and encountering more than their fair share of crazy people along the way. It also manages to sneak in some lovely moments that have real heart, which is why the show is entering its fourth season even after being panned by some when it first premiered.

Four seasons in, however, the show keeps getting crazier and crazier. Zap2it doesn"t feel that all is lost with "Mistresses" just yet, but we have a 12-step program for the drama in Season 4 (and hopefully beyond) to help it return to its earlier glory days.
1. No more babies
We already know from the Season 4 premiere episode description that there"s a time jump and Karen (Yunjin Kim) has given birth to baby Vivianne, born out of Karen"s surprisingly sweet threesome situation in Season 3. However, fingers crossed the new baby is seen and not heard -- or better yet, not even seen that much.
There"s already one kid on the show in the form of April"s (Rochelle Aytes) daughter Lucy (Corinne Massiah), and one kid is plenty. This show so does not need to turn into "Mom-stresses."
2. A permanent fourth woman
It would have been nice in the wake of Alyssa Milano"s departure that the show booked a fourth woman who was going to be a permanent fixture in the other women"s lives. Unfortunately, Calista Raines (Jennifer Esposito) was not that woman. Let"s get somebody in the door who will stick around should the show get a fifth season.
3. A fourth who interacts with all of them more
And while we"re at it, let"s get a fourth who is more involved with the group. Calista"s interactions were primarily with Joss (Jes Macallan), which made the group feel very fractured. Sure, it"s fine to have two women off together away from the other two for an episode, but the best part of the early seasons was how cohesive the group felt. Let"s aim for that again.
The introduction of Harry"s sister Kate (Tabrett Bethell) as a series regular in Season 4 is fine, but she needs to find ways to connect to Karen and April, not just Joss.
4. Most all-lady, wine-fueled scenes
Along with a more cohesive group is naturally going to come more scenes that feature all four main characters. Give them some wine and let them make a day of it. It keeps what can at times be kind of a dark show more light and fun.
5. Give April something to do outside men
Out of all the women on the show, April"s non-man life feels the most boring. She runs a store (boring) and had to deal with the awful mess her ex-husband put her in for several seasons, which was dramatic but not overly exciting. It"s time for April to be allowed to gallivant around town like Joss or get shot at by Penelope Ann Miller like Karen. Liven that lady"s life up a bit!
6. While you"re at it, kick Marc to the curb
This may be controversial, but Marc (Rob Mayes) kinda sucks. He seems flighty and easily distracted by shiny objects. April can do better. Frankly, it"s kind of a shame Daniel (Ricky Whittle) is gone, but how about in Season 4 April gets someone more worthy of her awesomeness?
7. Give Lucy a storyline
We"re not done with April. Her daughter Lucy is one of those rare kids on TV who isn"t annoying as all get out. She has spent three seasons being adorable, sad about her father and coolly supportive of her mother. It"s time she gets her own storyline.
8. Let Joss and Harry be happy (for a while)
Sure, it"s still a little weird that Joss would be falling for her ex-brother-in-law. But Joss and Harry"s (Brett Tucker) romance actually came around quite organically, so can they just have a moment"s peace for a bit? Maybe hold off til midseason to drop some kind of Jarry-killing bombshell.
9. Make Karen"s life just slightly less insane
Where April"s life needs some more drama in it, Karen could use a break. She"s been through a lot lately. Is there a way to have her find a new man that"s relatively drama-free? Obviously not 100 percent free of drama because that would be boring, but maybe make it a teeny, tiny less crazy.
10. Road trip!
The girls haven"t had a getaway in a while, which is understandable since the last one took a horrible turn. But it would be fun to watch the ladies get outside of their lives for an episode and have some kind of stand-alone adventure in a new location.
11. More extended family
We"ve met Joss and Savi"s mom, Janet (JoBeth Williams), Savi"s dad Bruce (John Heard) and April"s mom Marjorie (Lynn Whitfield), so how about some one-off appearances by Karen"s mom and/or dad, Joss or April"s dad or even a sibling for one of the women we haven"t yet met. Maybe a long-lost sibling even they didn"t know about!
12. Get Alyssa Milano back
No, not permanently because as awesome as that would be, it"s not going to happen. But what a great guest-starring turn that would be. The viewers were totally cheated out of the Joss-Harry-Savannah fallout, so it would be nice to watch the sisters deal with that.

After 10 hours with the Rayburns, its hard to tell if that crashing noise you hear is your own body keeling over from mental exhaustion, the lives of each and every Rayburn falling down around them, or just the opening credits. Either way, were here at the end of the road, and theres still a lot of puzzle left to be solved. In Marcos mind, hes basically one vowel away from asking Pat to solve the puzzle, but I have a feeling its going to get a bit more complicated for him before it gets resolved. Lets jump in.
We kick off the episode with Angry Di back out on the deck, asking John about the drowning. At this point, Johns face is both completely devoid of all feeling and also dripping with sadness. He dodges the question and just scoots over to the fact that he said hed tell Diana if theyre ever not safe and its not looking so hot for the Rayburns. He tells her to do whatever it is that she has to do, but I dont think he means it because she looks like shes about to drown him herself.
Back on the beach of broken families, Marco is doing a little exploring after his conversation with ODirtbag. And the big joke of the whole season is that its actually ODirtbag that figures out that John was at the beach, not Marco. And in return, Marco promises him immunity. Two steps behind any actual breakthrough, Marco stumbles upon that private camera the one with footage of John and Meg and Kevin and Ozzy and Eric and Greg and Marcia and Jan you get the point. John shares the same footage with Meg but promises he will take the responsibility, but Meg makes a valid point: Theyre on the camera. Theres no avoiding it. But Meg says shes sick and tired of lying. Preach it, girl. And thats when our old friend Ghost Danny makes a welcomed return, smoking a cigarette. Ghost Danny is so much more chill than real Danny, yall.
Sally is hanging out at the inn, and guess whos waiting on her? Everyones favorite livewire, Ozzy. He tells her she looks just like Danny, which is super shady. Anyway, he comes in and drops all the things that Sally hates about her life, but in a super cheerful tone just like only John Leguizamo can. Just in time Eve comes out and she gives Ozzy this, WTF bro? look. Eve just wants to take her dead boyfriends son and live with her almost-mother-in-law, ya know? Its the new American dream!
Unfortunately, its not dreams for everyone because Marco and Aguirres operations have been shut down until Internal Affairs lifts their suspension, even with all the information they have on John. It appears that everyone is starting to have to face their demons, so its nice to see an innocent face come along in Lil Jake, who Kevin rehires back onto staff. But then he finds out that will probably be his last hire because Luis and Mr. Gilbert will be running the show soon. And on top of that, Meg drops the information on Kevin that ODirtbag is involved with the cops.

And if you remember, Ozzy did not endorse that plan at all, so its no surprise when he shows up with his open-track jacket and gets p****d at ODirtbag. Eric pushes him, and thats when Ozzy pulls a gun. But guess who has a bigger gun? Chelsea, who comes out with a solid over under 12 gauge meaning business. Meanwhile, Nolan has another flash to the past, remembering his meeting with Robert and Danny. He thanked Robert for all those nice checks he sent to Eve, but now Eve and Nolan live with Sally, who is curious about why Ozzy came to visit them. Eve explains that Ozzy is her ex and that Ozzy and Danny once robbed a drug store for pills to sell, as one does. Sallys confused why he didnt ask Robert for help, but he did
AND THATS WHEN WE FLASH BACK! Danny excused Nolan so that he could ask Robert for money for the restaurant. Turns out Danny tried kind-of-hard to be a decent dad to Nolan. I might be using the term decent loosely, but in comparison to making out threeway style while hopped up on pills last season, this version of Danny feels pretty tame. Robert agrees to give the money to Danny for the restaurant, but if he takes it, he has to provide for Nolan on his own. So Danny chose Nolan. Not sure why he didnt, you know, open up the restaurant and then take care of Nolan, but I guess parenthood is a tricky beast. Anyway, Nolan overhears all of this goes down, which cant be great for his already bruised psyche.
Chelsea and John, my personal favorite duo ever, meet back up. I love Chelsea so much because shes just trying to live her life, get her mom to take her medicine with her Ho Hos, and not have to use her shotgun. John asks if shell come down and try to identify Ozzy so they can get him off the street because John doesnt want him hurting anyone. Chelsea apologizes, as if she ever had anything to apologize for. Even John admits she has nothing to apologize for because shes practically the Princess of the Florida Keys. Anyway, Chelsea heads down to the station and identifies Ozzy and you can practically see John fist-pumping from the next room.

14-time Grand Slam singles champion RafaelNadal said Fridayhe is pulling out of the French Open with a wrist injury.
He announced his withdrawal the day before he would have been scheduled to play in the third round.

"It"s a little surreal sometimes, because it has been so long. They"ve both been out here almost 20 years," said their sister, Isha Price, who was in the stands for both matches.
"It was nice to have them play back-to-back and not have to move," Price added with a laugh. "It"s so interesting that their scoreline was the same. It was really nice to be there for that."
The sisters No. 1-seeded Serena, No. 9 Venus even got a chance to cross paths and catch up briefly between their nearly identical matches. Serena faced one break point; Venus zero. Serena compiled a 31-6 edge in winners; Venus"s margin was 22-6. Serena made 17 unforced errors; Venus 15.

Besides X-Men and Alice, theres also Love & Friendship at the box office this weekend. Thats Kate Beckinsales new comedy set in 18th century England. Decos good friend, Chris Van Vliet has all the lovely deets.
Lynn, Shireen in Love & Friendship, Kate Beckinsale is a woman of high society and questionable virtue. It may be a mans world but Kate plays by her own rules.
Love & Friendship is based on an early work by legendary English author Jane Austen. Kate Beckinsale is Lady Susan Vernon, dodging rumors of her many affairs. The lady could be bitter and cold, but shes not.
Kate Beckinsale: In that my character is quite naughty and ruthless and manipulative and cunning and actually, the whole movie is sort of not what you expect cause its very, very funny.
It didnt take much to get Kate to commit to the role. It was love at first sight.
Kate Beckinsale: I love the characters where youre looking at them on the page going Oh my goodness, I cant believe shes doing this stuff, yet at the same time, youre also applauding her for her spirit and all that. Im attracted to those kind of characters.
Lady Susans views on love and marriage seem very modern but thats not the case, says the woman whos come to know her quite well.
Kate Beckinsale: She is of her time. Shes very much observant of all the social codes and conditions. Its just that shes found very clever ways to kind of subvert them and kind of squeak past them.
Chlo Sevigny plays Ladys Susans close friend, Alicia Johnson. The two worked together on The Last Days of Disco back in 1998, so Love & Friendship was a reunion for them.
Kate Beckinsale: There wasnt this kind of gulf of several decades in between. We did sort of quite easily fall back into a fairly familiar pattern with each other, which was lovely.
Dressing up in 18th century clothing was part of the job for Kate on this film, and it took a bit of getting used to.
Kate Beckinsale: Its quite difficult walking around in those costumes, especially if the doorways very wide. I had some outrageous hats on quite a lot, so you know, youd have to devise a sort of special technique to get through doors sideways.
You can find Love & Friendship in theaters now. And if youre going to have a celebrity crush, do they get any better than Kate Beckinsale? Kate Hot-insale as I like to call her? Isnt she the best??
