"Suits" Boss Dishes on the Show"s "New Era" and Taking a Big Risk With Season 6

Suits | Preview - Episode 602

As season six kicks off, USA Networks long-running legal drama, Suits, is turning a new leaf.

The new run of episodes begins with Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) acclimating to his new reality as a prison inmate after the truth about his lack of a law degree surfaces, threatening the livelihood of the firm, Pearson Specter Litt, and those who kept quiet about his secret -- most notably Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht).

With Mike in prison, it is certainly a new era in the show, creator Aaron Korsh told ET of the new season during a recent interview. But it was more my goal to make it feel like the same show.

All the familiar elements that make Suits what it is still remain, though the new season has its own unique test: striking a balance between Mikes prison storyline with everyone elses at the firm, while still maintaining a connective thread between the two worlds.

Our characters talk about Mike and Mike talks about our characters but thats what theyd be doing: thinking about each other and that is a form of interaction, Korsh said. If fans have a yearning for them to be together, the characters are expressing that yearning to be together.

Moving forward, the challenge was to feel like Mike is not completely separate from our characters. Thats why we came up with the idea of Mike being in prison with someone that Harvey put away. Obviously Harveys going to hear about that and find out about it and its going to involve him in Mikes life, he explained.

Though Mike wont be getting out of prison anytime soon -- Korsh says h**l be behind bars for a big part of the season -- there will come a time when h**l find his way out eventually. I dont think Ill have Mike in prison for two full seasons, he deadpanned.

As Korsh tells it, the timing seemed right for Mike to finally get caught in his lie. After five seasons of skirting around the issue, taking the plunge now only seemed fitting in moving the story along and positioning the characters in unknown -- and potentially more dangerous -- territory.

You have to evolve the show or its going to get stale for me as a writer and probably for the actors too. Im sure some people would prefer it stay the same forever and some people appreciate the changes, Korsh said. If you do the same thing over and over again, I would, by definition, lose interest and I would feel it was unsuccessful. But when you make changes and evolve the show, youre always risking alienating or turning off some people.

Suits airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on USA Network.

"The Infiltrator" Review: Bryan Cranston Breaking Good This Time In Drug-World Thriller

THE INFILTRATOR Trailer # 2 (Bryan Cranston, Drug Movie - 2016)

One of the nicest surprises among the loud and sometimes mind-numbing summer movie season is a new adult drama. The Infiltrator finds Bryan Cranston back in the world of drug trafficking, but this time theBreaking Bad Emmy winner is on the good side of the law in apulse-pounding and first-rate true story based on former federal agent Robert Mazurs memoir. In 1986, Mazur went deep undercover, ingeniously following the money trail all the way to the top of kingpin Pablo Escobars drug trafficking empire. Targeting more than100 drug lords as well as the Bank of Credit and Commerce International, the key money-laundering operation for these illegal deals, Mazur risked his life in a remarkable sting operation that could not be more intense and exciting.

As I say in my videoreview (click the above link to watch), director Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer)serves up a nail-biting tale focusing on Mazurs infiltration into the highest reaches of power in this most dangerous of worlds. Under orders from his boss Bonnie (Amy Ryan), Cranstons Mazur invents an alter ego named Bob Musella, a money-laundering businessman who works his way into Escobars network by promising to keep its money safe from the feds. Joined by fellow agent Emir Abreu (John Leguizamo), his tentative steps into this ring are fraught with peril at every turn. During one conversation, he accidentally says he has a fiance, forcing his department to bring in agent Kathy Ertz (Diane Kruger), who poses as his bride-to-be and join him in the operation. Eventually Mazur/Musella makes his way up to Escobars No. 2, Roberto Alcaino (Benjamin Bratt), ingratiating and convincing him thathe has his best interests in mind.

Whats truly fascinating is that this basically is Mazurs day job. At night he goes home to his wife (Juliet Aubrey) and family but soon finds that the mission might be costing him his personal life as he goes deeper and deeper into the heart of the Escobar world. One scene where Mazurtakes his real wife out to an anniversary dinner nearly turns disastrous when he runs into one of Escobars men and quickly must revert to his alter ego which horrifies his wife. This is the kind of thing Cranston just excels at. He has been on a real roll of late and never has been better than as Mazur, a juicy part enhanced by the fact he is playing a still-living man who pulled off one of the greatest drug ring busts ever.

Leguizamo also is very lively and fun to see as a key associate, and Kruger is simply excellent as thewoman who has to join Mazur in pulling off a miracle of deception without missing a beat. Bratt is perfectly cast, a seemingly ordinary and successful businessman with a brutal personality simmering underneath. Oscar winner Olympia Dukakis is a hoot as Mazurs Aunt Vicky, who at one point finds herself part of her nephews ruse. The adaptation of Mazurs book is skillfully penned by Ellen Brown Furman, the directors mother, who has done a fine job, never drifting into the cliches of this movie genre. Producers are Miriam Segal, Don Sikorski, Paul M. Brennan and Furman. Broad Green Pictures is releasing the film Wednesday in about 1,600 theaters, a perfect adult alternative for these hot summer months.

Ariel Winter Says She Supports Taylor Swift"s Alleged Plastic Surgery

Taylor Swift & Calvin Harris Break Up Over Rihanna Collab?

The internet is abound with rumors that Taylor Swift underwent a breast augmentation, but the 1989 hitmaker has remained silent, not confirming or denying the alleged plastic surgery.

The ladies of CBS show The Talk discussed the rumors surrounding Swift on Tuesdays episode of the show. Special guest Ariel Winter, who has been open about having a breast reduction, weighed in.

It took me a while to feel that way, you know, accepting myself. I just hope girls can learn to accept themselves, whatever they look like, however big or small their b*****s are, the Modern Family actress said. And even, I have to say, you know, even if Taylor Swift did get her b***s done, good for her if she felt like she wanted to.

Winter also spoke about being body-shamed both before and after her breast reduction surgery, for not only what she wears, but also for openly showing her scars on the red carpet.

After revealing her scars at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the 18-year-old tweeted, Guys there is a reason I didnt make an effort to cover up my scars! They are part of me and Im not ashamed of them at all.

On social media, the actress consistently calls out critics who dare to shame her for various outfits she wears or revealing cleavage.

We live in a day and age where everything you do is ridiculed, she told Glamourin 2015 interview. The internet bullies are awful. I could post a photo where I feel good, and 500 people will comment about how fat I am, and that I am disgusting.

Check your inbox for that squad invite, Winter.

"The Infiltrator": Danger is drug of choice in this thriller

The Infiltrator Official Trailer #2 (2016) - Bryan Cranston, John Leguizamo Movie HD

Set in the seamy world of the drug trade, The Infiltrator is a tale of addiction but not to drugs.

Danger is the narcotic thats got the pictures principals in its grip. They know it could kill them, but they cant break free of its hold. In dangers thrall, where the slightest misstep could bring ugly, agonizing death, thats where they feel most alive.

The story of the Infiltrator is based on actual individuals and incidents. Set in the mid-1980s, it follows a trio of federal agents, Robert Mazur (Bryan Cranston), Emir Abreu (John Leguizamo) and Kathy Ertz (Diane Kruger) as they go deep undercover to disrupt the financial underpinnings of narco kingpin Pablo Escobars Medellin cocaine cartel.

The Infiltrator, with Bryan Cranston, John Leguizamo, Benjamin Bratt, Diane Kruger. Directed by Brad Furman from a screenplay by Ellen Brown Furman. 127 minutes. Rated R for strong violence, language throughout, some sexual content and drug material. Several theaters.

Mazur poses as a sharp-witted money launderer, Ertz as his glamorous fiance and Abreu as his street-smart, lowlife partner in crime.

Directed by Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) and scripted by his mother, Ellen Brown Furman (based on Mazurs 2009 memoir The Infiltrator: My Secret Life Inside the Dirty Banks Behind Pablo Escobars Medelln Cartel), the pictures great strength is its powerful performances.

Cranstons Mazur, a family man with a background in accounting, makes a choice early on to turn down the offer of a safe retirement to instead pursue corrupt bankers and cartel higher-ups.

The execution-style murders of some of the people with whom he has dealings, which leave him literally soaked in their blood, frighten him but dont deter him. Disciplined and almost insanely brave, he keeps his nerve and moves up the chain of cartel figures. He does this by earning their trust, trust which by the very nature of his role he will betray.

As he grows close to a cultured, ruthless upper-echelon cartel figure played by Benjamin Bratt, Cranston persuasively conveys how morally conflicted Mazur feels about bringing down the man who considers him to be a valued friend.

Leguizamo gives a looser, edgier performance as a guy who freely admits to loving the rush of living on the edge, while Kruger is silky smooth as a rookie agent whose composure and intelligence matches Mazurs own.

Though The Infiltrator breaks no new ground in its storytelling, it is nonetheless a riveting piece of work.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg faces criticism over Trump attacks

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Continues War Of Words With Donald Trump | MSNBC

Donald Trump called on Wednesday for the resignation of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.Trump took to Twitter in a rant against Ginsburg. USA TODAY

The back-and-forth between Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Donald Trump is getting messy and critics are saying some things may be better left unsaid.

Ginsburg has taken to criticizing the presumptive Republican nominee in recent days, saying she doesnt even want to contemplate the effects a Trump candidacy would have on the Supreme Court.

Its no surprise that Ginsburg isnt a big fan of Trump (she is known for her liberal views and was nominated by former President Bill Clinton.) But justices usually avoidcommenting on politics; particularly politics related to who should be the next president, likely to nominate at least one other justice theyll work with.

Trump has called on her to resign over the comments.

But Trump isnt the only one complaining. Many others are calling Ginsburgs comments inappropriate.

Both The New York Times and Washington Post editorial boards called her comments out-of-line.

The Washington Post wrote: However valid her comments may have been, though, and however in keeping with her known political bent, they were still much, much better left unsaid by a member of the Supreme Court.

The New York Times said these comments could force her future rulings to be called into question.

In this election cycle in particular, the potential of a new president to affect the balance of the court has taken on great importance, with the vacancy left by the death of Justice Antonin Scalia. As Justice Ginsburg pointed out, other justices are nearing an age when retirement would not be surprising. That makes it vital that the court remain outside the presidential process. And just imagine if this were 2000 and the resolution of the election depended on a Supreme Court decision. Could anyone now argue with a straight face that Justice Ginsburgs only guide would be the law?

House Speaker Paul Ryan a reluctant Trump supporter who does not hesitate to differentiate his views told CNN Tuesday that Ginsburgs comments are proof of the need for a Republican president to choose who goes on the Court next.

"I think it is out of place in an appointed branch of government. That shows bias to me," Ryan said during a CNN town hall. "I don"t think that is something she should have done."

And Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (who has endorsed Trump but makes it clear he doesnt support him on a variety of issues) had the businessmans back in this one.

But it wasn"t just Republicans who were critical, Democrats saw issues as well.

We all know that the justices on the Supreme Court have political views. Im not sure were well served by them airing them out in the open, said Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn. according to Politico. Those of who have been concerned about the open political leanings of conservatives like Clarence Thomas also have to be bear the same concerns about judges on the other side of the bench.

She may have got out over her skis a little bit and [been] more forthright and political than she should have been. Its very unusual, said Senate Minority Whip d**k Durbin, D-Ill., said according to Politico.

But The White House stayed out of the comments (kind of) when asked about them Wednesday.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest declined to comment on Ginsburgs Trump remarks, but observed, She didnt earn the nickname The Notorious RBG for nothing.
