Lifetime"s OVERSHARING: Jillian Bell is Bad at Meeting Benicio Del Toro | HelloGiggles
Daryl Hannah and Tom Hanks kiss in a scene from the original Splash.
From Buena Vista Pictures/Everett Collection.
Your fan fiction about Channing Tatum as a merman is swimming closer to reality.
The actor is set to star in a gender-swapped remake of Splash, the 1984 hit starring Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah, Deadline reports. Tatum will pay Hannahs role, while actress Jillian Bell (Workaholics) will play Hankss. The remake was also reportedly pitched by Bell, who recently worked with Tatum in 22 Jump Street.
The original Splash, directed by Ron Howard, was a runaway hit, providing breakout roles for both Hanks and Hannah. The script, co-penned by Lowell Ganz, Babaloo Mandel, Bruce Jay Friedman, and Brian Grazer, was nominated for a best-original-screenplay Oscar.
Newcomer Marja-Lewis Ryan will pen the script for the remake. Howard and Grazer are on board to produce, alongside Tatum.
If history decides to repeat itself, the remake could also give Bell a major career boost. The actress has turned in a number of solid performances in shows like Workaholics and Idiotsitter, and shes also set to appear in upcoming comedies Office Christmas Party and Rock That Body, which also stars Scarlett Johansson and Kate McKinnon.
Tatum, meanwhile, will get another high-profile comedic role under his belt. And h**l presumably also be mostly shirtless in the upcoming remake, a skill at which hes proven to be very, very adept.

Its called the Z Ring, and its supposed to be worn while playing Sun and Moon.
Japanese toy-maker Takara Tomy is releasing the kiddy-friendly peripheral. Children wear the bracelet, which blinks, makes noise and vibrates when characters do in-game Z-moves that can be unleashed only once per battle.
There are 18 different Z Ring crystals kids can collect, and they all seem to correspond to a different Z-move.
The Z Ring is priced at 2,600 yen (US$25.60) and comes with one Z Crystal. Each set of Z Crystals is 599 yen ($5.90) and comes with three different crystals. There is a special bundle that includes the Z Ring and six Z Crystals for 4,490 yen ($44.19).
This seems like its taking a page from Yokai Watchs business playbook, but will likely be the hot toy will it launches in Japan on November 18 when Sun and Moon are released. No word yet on an international release.
August 2 5:21am Update: Sun and Moons international site also lists the Z Ring, so expect a worldwide release.

"Bachelorette" JoJo Fletcher Gives Out Her Final Rose | E! News
Jordan Rodgers may not have lasted long as anNFL quarterback, but he approached his stint on The Bachelorette this season with all the precision of an eliteathlete.
From his very first appearance, Jordan employed a shrewdstrategy that ensured his victory on ABCs reality dating competition. His dedication paid off: On Monday nights finale, Jordan was crowned the winner when JoJoFletcher accepted his marriage proposal, choosing him over runner-up Robby Hayes.
[The Bachelorette finale: The (real) winners and losers this season]
Like any hard-fought victory, the road was noteasy. The After the Final Rose special was unusually somber, asJoJo and Jordan admitted its been a rough few months. As the show aired, they had to seeone unflattering tabloid story after another, many withthe same narrative: that Jordan is a fake, fame-seeking narcissist who is just using JoJo to become a celebrity or get a football commentator job. (Not to mention theories about why hes estranged from his famous brother, Green Bay Packers star Aaron Rodgers.)
JoJo told host Chris Harrison that althoughshe should have been basking in the glow of being newly engaged, she was instead bombarded with negative headlines about how her fiance doesnt really love her. That hurts me, JoJo said. Not because I think its true, but its just hard to have that on you when it should be a really amazing time in your life.
If Jordan inspired this much vitriol, how did he even get this far?Again, its all about game strategy and after watching this entire season, heres how he pulled it off, easily becoming the most calculating winner in Bachelorette history:
1. He started strong.
First impressions really are everything. In the premiere, in May, Jordan landed the prime first contestant out of the limo spot and was the very first guy to greet JoJo at the Bachelorette mansion. Unlike some contestants, who arrive with nerves or terrible pickup lines ora Santa costume, Jordan strolled in as thoughhe owned the place. JoJo was immediately taken with hissuaveconfidence and spectacular hair; that same night, Jordan snagged the seasons first kiss as the two demonstrated they had immediate chemistry. Jordan also got the coveted first impression rose, cementing him as a front-runner.
2. He was honest about his faults.
Unlike Robby, who lookedpanicked when confronted with rumors that he broke up with a longtime girlfriend to film the show, Jordan was smooth when JoJo asked him about his past demons. Its clear that Jordan had issuesafter the premiere, one ex-girlfriend took to Instagram and accused him of cheating on her. Anyway, before The Bachelorette started filming,JoJo heard something along those lines about Jordan from a girl who dated him. On a date about halfway through the season, JoJo asked Jordan to clear up these rumors.
[The embarrassing history of Bachelorette contestants lying about past relationships]
Instead of clamming up, Jordan did not deny that he was a terrible boyfriend, and he admitted he was too consumed with his fledgling football career to think about other people. As Yahoo recapper Kristen Baldwin put it, it was a fairly mature answer for a dude who wears so much hair product.
3. He confided an emotional (and juicy) personal story.
Its especially crucial for every Bachelorette dude to prove that he has a sensitive side, and Jordan passed this test with flying colors several episodes ago as he confessed to JoJo that hehas no contact withhis brother, Aaron. Not only did the story show that Jordan could open up about his feelings, it provided a rare look into the inner workings of the family of a celebrity. Jordan did not go into much detail, but he demonstrated that he trusted JoJoenough to open up about something painful in his past while also earning him sympathy points and even more publicity. It was a genius move.
4. He presented a challenge.
Playing hard-to-get is infuriating, but of course it usually works everyone wants what they cant have. But how does one appear not too available when theyre on a reality dating show? Just look at the masterful moves of Jordan in the penultimate episode. Jordan told JoJo he loved her early on, but when it came time for her to pin down his future plans, he was pretty shifty. Check out this conversation:
JOJO: We have not talked at all about what the future would be like. So in your mind, what does the next year look like for you?
JORDAN: Um (long pause) itsa tough question to answer.
JOJO: (nervous laugh)
JORDAN: It kind of depends. I dont know what its going to look like exactly, 100 percent.
JOJO: I think that makes me nervous.
JORDAN: Really? Why?
Hmmm, Jordan, why do you think? Maybe because shes on a reality show where the whole point is to get engaged? After a prolonged discussion, Jordan finally relented with an answer that did not really reflect her original question (Ihave a feeling when Im with you that Ive never had before, I truly think I am a better person with you.) Yet JoJo professed to the camera that she felt much better after their talk. Somehow, Jordan was able to reel her in even more while maintaining an air of mystery and unavailability which, as everyone knows, is annoyingly irresistible.
[When The Bachelorette talks love and marriage, Jordan Rodgers gets suspiciously quiet]
5. He knew JoJo was in love with him and he told her exactly what she wanted to hear.
Jordans language while talking about JoJo, both to her and to the camera has always been as cliche as it gets: Im here because I am so in love with JoJo. And she is exactly what I want in my wife. While thats par for the course in Bachelor land, Jordan took it to a new level in the finale, which featured another frustrating conversationafter Jordan failed to ask JoJos father permission before he proposed.
JoJo was angry about this, and they went around and around in circles about Jordans intentions and whether he was ready for marriage. Finally, Jordan implied (in so many words) that he did not want to look like an idiot if he asked for JoJos hand in marriageand she choseRobby.
Instead of this being a deal-breaker, JoJo seemed to take this as a sign of Jordans vulnerability they worked through it, and in the end, Jordan broke the rules and contacted her parents by phone, just to get their permission before he proposed. He confessed this all in a letter to JoJo, which naturally drove her to tears of joy, just before she accepted his proposal of marriage.

Warren Buffett challenges Donald Trump to release his tax...

USinvestor Warren Buffett, speaking at a campaign rally for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, challenged Republican Donald Trump on Monday to release his tax returns.
Trump has said he would not release his returns until the Internal Revenue Service has completed an audit.
"Now Ive got news for him, I"m under audit too and I would be delighted to meet him anyplace, anytime, before the election," said Buffett, the chief executive officer of Berkshire Hathaway. "I"ll bring my tax return, he can bring his tax return ... and let people ask us questions about the items that are on there."
Youre only afraid if you have something to be afraid about, Buffett continued to take on Trump. "He"s not afraid because of the IRS. He"s afraid because of you."

The eagle-eyed sheriffs of the Twitterverse are constantly vigilant, ready to blow their whistles at any possible offensebe it fashion, feud, or folly. Last night, it was fashion. Ohio congresswoman Joyce Beatty spoke at the Democratic National Convention, but it was her outfit that made headlines. You might be thinking, Ugh, can we recognize women for more than what theyre wearing? But in this case, its an interesting conversation. You see, Beattys dress was identical to the $2,190 Roksanda one Melania Trump sported to deliver her now-infamous speech at the Republican National Convention (which coincidentally was in Beattys state of Ohio) last week.
DRESS PLAGIARISM, @NYDailyNews tweeted.
Did Joyce Beatty just plagiarize Melania Trumps outfit? @mashable asked.
Some people saw it differently, as more of a power play. In a complete baller move, Rep. Joyce Beatty wears Melania Trumps RNC dress at the DNC, @annehelen wrote.
It was unintentional mimicry turned power play, actually. Beatty told a local news affiliate that her husband bought the dress and asked her to wear it at the convention, and now its blowing up all over the nation that its the same as Mrs. Trumps. Shes not entirely sure if the two garments are identical, but she does know one thing:
I just know that I used my own words when I wore the dress.
Beatty then laughed things off, as if to remind us all that we were talking about clothes on a night of extreme historical significance.

Over the weekend, the Internet was outraged that Malia Obama decided to go to the annual music festival Lollapalooza instead of the Democratic Nation Convention. Let"s be honest here, Malia is an 18-year-old teenager. As a teenager myself, I would have preferred a music festival over the DNC. The problem is people hold Malia to such high standards, because of course she is the daughter of the president of the United States and also because she is black. Mainly the people outraged about her having fun are Republicans. Many conservatives find any reason to criticize the Obama family -- whether it"s Obama"s failure to fulfill many of the promises he made, Michelle Obama"s appearance and now the behavior of their children.
Black people have to work 10 times harder to get the same things white people have -- one of them being respect.
These complaints are always unwarranted and laced with racist undertones. Never before have they put so much pressure on such a president over things so unrelated to what"s important... like politics. Black people have to work 10 times harder to get the same things white people have -- one of them being respect. Malia has always been meek alongside her dad during his entire presidency. She has lived up to the standard of a good presidential daughter. She decides to have fun one time, and people are up in arms about it. She has always worked hard to have an admirable reputation. It shouldn"t be overshadowed by her enjoying herself at a music festival.
This isn"t the first time people have been outraged by the Obama daughters. In November 2014, GOP staffer Elizabeth Lauten wrote on her Facebook,
Dear Sasha and Malia, I get you"re both in those awful teen years, but you"re a part of the First Family, try showing a little class. Rise to the occasion. Act like being in the White House matters to you. Dress like you deserve respect, not a spot at a bar.
This statement was met with criticism, and she resigned. People hold Obama"s daughters to a standards that not even the past children of the prior presidents could achieve.
People hold Obama"s daughters to a standards that not even the past children of the prior presidents could achieve.
During George Bush"s presidency, his daughters Jenna and Barbara Bush had a reputation for being unruly party animals. Photos of Jenna drunk and on the floor would circulate on the internet. In 2001, Jenna Bush was charged with an underage drinking charge at 19 years old. Many regarded them as Secret Service nightmares. Yet the Republicans weren"t outraged about this. The media now is too busy trying to vilify Malia Obama, who has always been a classy young lady. Malia is at the same age as the Bush girls were, and she has not done any of the things that they have done.
Malia never asked to be in the spotlight. At a young age she was thrusted into the spotlight when her father announced his presidency. Since then she hasn"t been able to get much privacy. During her college visits last year, a photo circulated of her playing beer bong. As a teenager that"s a time-honored tradition. The outrage was unwarranted. It seems that anytime Malia is actually enjoying herself, people are outraged. There"s no reason why Malia should be viewed as a puppet. She is her own person; she isn"t Barack and she isn"t the White House. She shouldn"t be viewed in such a way. She is on her way to Harvard next fall -- an accomplishment many wish they could achieve. She has a good head on her shoulder and parents who have taught her so much class.
Malia is at the same age as the Bush girls were, and she has not done any of the things that they have done.
Yes, Malia is the daughter of the president of the United States, but before that she is a teenager. She shouldn"t be hindered from enjoying herself because of who her father is. She shouldn"t be confined to a cage just to appease others. Malia is an adult now, at 18 years old, she is able to make her own decisions and we shouldn"t respect that. d**n, can we let Malia Obama live?
