Surreal standoff ends with Chris Brown under arrest, but the R&B singer says he"s the victim

CHRIS BROWN: ILLUMINATi SET-UP or UNSTABLE DRUG ADDICT??

Chris Brown and the Los Angeles Police Department spent much of Tuesday locked in a surreal standoff at theR&B performer"s Tarzana homeover allegations that he threatened a woman with a gun.

The woman said Brown pointed the gun at her and she fled in fear, then balked at signing a nondisclosure agreement before escaping from the singers property.

For hours, LAPD officers along with an army of reporters stood outside the house asBrown refusedto let them in. During theimpasse, the 27-year-oldposted a series of videos on social media in which he railed against the police and said he was being unfairly demonized.

This latest peculiarchapter in L.A.sannals of celebrity justice ended late in the afternoon when Brown was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. He was released around 11:15 p.m. after posting $250,000 bail, according to Los Angeles County jail records.

The incident began early Tuesday when the LAPD received a 911 call about a woman claiming she had been threatened by the performer, police said. Officers arrived about 3 a.m. at the estate in the 5000 block of Corbin Avenue.

The woman, Baylee Curran, told The Times thatBrownpointed a gun at her during a violent ragebefore she ran outside.Curran said she and a friend went to Browns home with a business associate, who was invited by the musician. She wanted to talk to Brown about future projects, she said.

Inside the home, a fewpeople were milling about and talking, she recounted. She eventuallywent to Browns backyardto get some fresh air. Her confrontation with the musician erupted soon after she walked back into the house, she said.

A man was showcasing diamond bracelets, necklaces and watches inside the home, and Curran said she was admiring the jewelry.

I dont know if it was Chris friend or how he was related, but thats when he told me to back away from the diamond necklace and started cussing me out and calling me names, she said. Thats when Chris pulled his gun and told me to Get out,he said. Im sick of you girls, get the ...out!

Curran said she fled outside with a friend, but they were forced to wait by the homes gate until Browns associates retrieved her phone which she had to hand over as a condition of entering the residence, she said. One of Browns associates walked over with the phone but said hed return it only if she signed a nondisclosure agreement, she said.

Curran said she refused, snatched her phone from the mans hand and ran away. The man ran to a Jeep to give chase, but Curran and her friend escaped to a neighbors property and hid under an SUV when the Jeep drove by, she said. The neighbor contacted police.

When officers arrived, they were instructed to obtain a search warrant, police sources said. As detectives waited for the warrant, Brown shared videos on his Instagram account, praising his own talents as both a performer and father, and criticizing the media for portraying him as a villain.

In thevideos, he said he woke up to helicopters overhead and officersat his gate, and maintained that he was not guilty of the accusations.

Good luck. When you get the warrant or whatever you need to do, youre going towalk right up in here and youre going tosee nothing, you idiots, he said in one video, occasionally taking a drag of a cigarette. Im tired of ... dealing with yall.

Detectives eventually entered the residence shortly before 1 p.m. and at least half a dozen peopleexited the home, a few of them holding their hands behind their heads as police patted them down.

Were getting the cooperation of everyone that came out, said Lt. ChrisRamirez, an LAPD spokesman.

Mark Geragos, Browns longtime attorney, told The Times that during the search of the home, he waswith the singer, who denies any wrongdoing.Brownis scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on Sept. 20, according to jail records. He has not been formally charged. It is common for prosecutors to announce a decision on whether to file charges close to the date of arraignment.

The results of the search, as well as other witness testimony, will weigh heavily in the prosecutions decision to charge Brown, experts say.

At the end of the day it is a he-said she-said scenario, said Dmitry Gorin, adefense attorney and a former s*x crimes prosecutor in Los Angeles. The prosecution must find other witnesses, surveillance footage, the firearm in question, to corroborate what happened to ever be able to prove this case in front of a jury."

Its unclear what police recovered from the property. A law enforcement source confirmed that officers found a duffel bag that had apparently been tossed from a window. The bag contained evidence related to the case, the source said.

Previous incidents at the residence includea home-invasion robbery and multiple complaints aboutBrownand his friends riding all-terrain vehicles up and down the street.

Brown, a native of Virginia, rose to fame as a teenage heartthrob but became one of R&Bs more notorious bad boys following the 2009 attack on his then-girlfriend Rihanna. He spent six years on probation after pleading guilty to the attack, and his probation was lifted in March 2015.

The singer completed about 1,000 hours of community service. He was also ordered to attend anti-domestic-violence classes.

In recent years, he has also faced charges in connection with driving without a license and accusations of a hitand run. He admitted in May 2014 to violating his probation after assaulting a person outside a Washington, D.C., hotel.

Browns former manager, Michael Guirguis, known as Mike G, filed a lawsuit in June that alleged the singer attacked him. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, contends the singer punched Guirguis four times in the face and neck during a May 10 incident.

The complaint states:The assault was unprovoked and, regrettably, just another attack in Browns long history of violent and abusive behavior.

The cast of Dancing With The Stars 2016 has been recently revealed and it looks like fans have their early favorites. Despite Ryan Lochtes live appearance in Good Morning America most recently, Calvin Johnson, not the Olympic swimmer, is the most talked about contestant. It looks like the former Detroit Lions wide receiver has easily won the hearts of fans and is now the early favorite in the show. But then theres Terra Jole who might also be one of the favorites. Jole happens to be the first little person to join the show and that sole fact can be her biggest asset.

Fans are delighted to know that Dancing With The Stars features an athletic flavor led by Johnson and Lochte. Its entirely new for the two athletes who agreed to join the hit competition show.

Johnson shocked the world of football when he confirmed his retirement earlier this year at age 30. Thus, Detroit fans are truly delighted to know that he will be seen on the ABC hit reality show. Johnsons former teammates were reportedly surprised about him joining a dance competition and commented that hes going to do awful.

Meanwhile, Lochte shared that hes really excited. He also admitted that being part of a show like Dancing With The Stars is completely new for him. The 32-year-old swimmer exclaimed that its time for him to hang up the Speedo, put on his dancing shoes and get in the ballroom.

The Little Woman with No Shortage of Talent

Aside from the two athletes, Jole, a 36-year-old Little Women: LA star, is also the apple of the eye now. She stands 1.27 metres tall but she has no shortage of charm and talent. Jole has been in the entertainment industry for 15 good years and we just cant wait to see her dancing in the show.

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater has dislocated knee, completely torn ACL

Gottlieb: Teddy Bridgewater injured

Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater suffered a season-ending torn ACL and dislocated knee on a non-contact injury during practice, the club confirmed Tuesday evening.

"Teddy Bridgewater suffered a non-contact injury today at practice," head athletic trainer Eric Sugerman said in a statement. "The injury was quickly identified as a dislocated knee. The injury was stabilized, and he was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and evaluation. After undergoing an MRI, it was determined that Teddy suffered a complete tear to his ACL and other structural damage. Fortunately, there appears to be no nerve or arterial damage. Surgical repair will be scheduled within the next few days. Although the recovery time will be significant, we expect Teddy to make a full recovery. I would like to thank all of the medical professionals and our athletic training staff for all of their help today. Teddy has already displayed the attitude needed to overcome this injury and attack his rehab."

Bridgewater went down on a dropback approximately 25 minutes into practice, which was quickly canceled as an ambulance arrived. The traumatic scene reportedly included some of Peterson"s teammates vomiting on the field.

"Well you know today is a disappointing day," Mike Zimmer said about in a news conference shortly after injury. "Number one Teddy is such an amazing kid. Everybody loves him. So it was disappointing for them and I didnt think we were going to get much out of practice. Well get back in heretomorrowand well get back to work. Were not going to stick our heads in the sand. Were going to tuck our tail between our legs. Were not looking for excuses. Were going to go out and fight like we always do. We got some great football players on this team. Well figure ways to win football games if hes not here and thats what were going to do."

Zimmer said he"s leaned on a pair of mentors, Bill Parcells and, in spirit, his late father Bill, who passed away last August, in the immediate aftermath Tuesday.

"I"ve talked to Coach (Bill) Parcells a couple times today. Ive talked to well, in spirit, Ive talked to my dad, and he always found a way to do it," said an emotional Zimmer. "So, were going to figure out a way. Were not going to stick our heads in the sand. Were going to figure out a way. Everybody can count us out if they want, but I think thatd be the wrong thing to do."

Zimmer didn"t rule out the possibility of acquiring a veteran as the Vikings" Plan B, but he expressed confidence in 36-year-old backup Shaun Hill, who"s been "great this preseason," he said.

After losing his father last summer, and following the sudden passing of his wife seven years ago, Zimmer said he"ll channel the experiences into helping his team battle this adversity.

"Yeah, thats our job, find a way," said Zimmer. "No one is going to feel sorry for us, no one is going to cry. The Tennessee Titans or the Green Bay Packers, we can go down the schedule, no one is going to feel sorry for us if thats the case. So Im not going to feel sorry for us either. Im not going to let this team feel sorry for itself. Were going to grieve today and upset about it. Its more about our feelings for Teddy and him as a person and getting better than it is about anything else. Teddys a great kid and h**l be back as soon as he possibly can if it is real bad. But were going to keep fighting."

Bridgewater, 23, was set to enter his second full season as the starter for the defending NFC North champions. After sitting out the second preseason game with reported shoulder soreness, he returned Sunday and was outstanding in the team"s final tuneup and, as it turns out, his final outing of 2016.

Katharine McPhee has "no regrets" about cheating on husband

Katharine McPhee - Terrified ft. Zachary Levi

Katharine McPhee has no regrets in life even when it comes to her infidelities.

The "Smash" actress came clean to Ocean Drive magazine about her headline-making love life, where she cheated on her husband with the married director of the series, Michael Morris.

McPhee married her husband Nick Cokas, who is 19 years her senior, back in 2008 and the two split in 2014 after news broke that the singer was having an affair with her "Smash" boss Morris.

Morris is married to actress Mary McCormack and they have two children together, while McPhee and Cokas officially divorced in February 2016.

"I don"t have any regrets. All of the choices I made I learned from in a really deep way," McPhee told the magazine.

"I have always been fortunate to have strong influences in my life who have forced me to look at my own choices and my own failures. I think we are all on that journey to have more awareness about who we are as a person and to grow and learn."

The single actress who was last linked to her "Scorpion" co-star Elyes Gabel in 2014 is now unsure how to approach dating in her 30s.

"I"m trying to date in a way that doesn"t lock me down," she said. "There is still a certain level of attachment with the prior relationship that I was in, so emotionally to be suddenly dating other people is not as easy."

While she"s been told that she should just get around and "hook up with a bunch of people," the "American Idol" runner-up said she would much rather fall in love.

"I"m a one-man kind of gal and a kind of true romantic at heart," she said.

Watch Hope Solo react to U.S. soccer suspension, termination

Hope Solo Go Crazy After She Found Out That She Had Been Suspended by U.S. Soccer

Hope Solo cried, hugged her husband and then lashed out when she received the news: U.S. soccer terminated her contract and issued a six-month suspension after she called Sweden "a bunch of cowards" following theUnited States" Olympics elimination.

"Six months, suspension, no pay. Terminated contract, effective immediately," Solo says in a newly-released video trailer from Fullscreen, a media company making a docu-series called "Keeping Score" that follows the U.S. national team goalkeeper and teammates Megan Rapinoe and Crystal Dunn.

"Terminated contract, not just a suspension," an emotional Solo continues.

When her husband, former NFL player Jerramy Stevens, asks, "How can they do both?" she replies, "It"s both. Seventeen f---- years and it"s over!"

Solo will miss only international friendlies in the next six months, but by then a new keeper may have solidified the No. 1 spot since Solo will be 38 years old when the next World Cup rolls around in 2019. Orlando Pride keeper Ashlyn Harris and Alyssa Naeher of the Chicago Red Stars are the two likely candidates battling for the starting job. Naeher was Solo"s backup in the Olympics and Harris was the U.S. reserve.

Solo"s comments after the U.S." quarterfinal elimination did not sit well with teammates, either. Rapinoe openly spoke out against Solo"s reaction, and Pride forwardAlex Morgan also made a statementlast week to the Orlando Sentinel, saying: "The players dont control any of the consequences that happen, that are enforced by U.S. Soccer. So, its a bummer that happened to one of my teammates, but at the same timeI dont agree with the things that she said in the Olympics.

Pride coach Tom Sermanni was head coach of the U.S. women"s national team from 2013-14, so he is familiar with the level of competition and with Solo.

"I thought it was probably a little bit clumsy, is what I"ll call it," Sermanni said. "I think it"s getting players in the heat of the moment, right after the game, where you"ve just lost a critical game. So, players are emotional at that time and they"re liable to come out and say something a little bit untoward.

"And then there are certain players who are a bit more outspoken than others, and obviously Hope"s one of those. So, when you put all of that together, you"re likely to get an explosive remark and that"s what"s happened."

U.S. Soccer, the sport"s governing body, released a statement Aug. 24 announcing Solo"s suspenion and making clear thepunishment was due to an accumulation of actions over the past few years and not solely her remarks after the Olympics.

Earlier this week, Solo"s National Women"s Soccer League team, the Seattle Reign, announced Solo has taken an indefinite leave.
