Playing EXCLUSIVE: Maureen McCormick Is Ready for "Dancing With the Stars" Despite Her Fear of Dancing in Public

Maureen McCormick is headed to the dance floor of Dancing With the Stars despite her fear of dancing in public, and ET was first to join her in rehearsal on Thursday.

"You can conquer anything at any time in your life," McCormick told ET.

The former Brady Bunch star will make her DWTS debut on Monday with pro partner Artem Chigvintsev. While she"s not naturally drawn to dancing, she"s bravely facing the competition at the insistence of her former TV mom, DWTS alum Florence Henderson.

"She was like, "Mo, you have to do Dancing With the Stars,"" McCormick explained.

And apparently mom knows best, because she"s having a ball! Plus, the iconic actress, who just turned 60 last month, is feeling better than ever thanks to a change in diet.

"I"ve had weight issues in the past," McCormick said. "I"m gluten free, and that took off weight immediately."

McCormick can hardly go anywhere without hearing "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!" but her 34-year-old DWTS partner admitted he never watched the show growing up in Russia.

"I haven"t seen Brady Bunch at all, but week two, we"re going to be doing something Brady Bunch," he teased.

Dancing With the Stars returns to ABC on Monday at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

The IT lowdown on iOS 10, Android Nougat, and MacOS Sierra

7 astuces sur iOS 10

iOS 10 will be released today, and you can expect most users to upgrade their iPhone and iPads within weeks. Google released Android 7.0 Nougat on a handful of devices in late August, but it"ll be months before it"s running on a meaningful number of smartphones and tablets. And MacOS Sierra, which will be released on Sept. 20, has several enhancement for its management policies. (Remember, since 2011"s OS X Lion, Macs and iOS devices can be managed from the same servers.)

Nonetheless, with iOS 10"s release today, it makes sense to update your mobile management approaches to account for these operating systems" changes.

What iOS 10 does that IT should know

Apple actually made more changes to iOS management in its iOS 9.3 update earlier this year than it has in iOS 10.

For supervised devices, iOS 9.3 gave IT control over the home screen layout, the ability to hide and thus block blacklisted apps that users may have downloaded (not merely prevent their downloads, as in the past), configure notifications to keep sensitive data out of them, force devices to report their location if lost (even if users have deactivated location services), and -- for devices managed from your mobile management server through Apple"s Device Enrollment Program -- both enforce activation lock on the device and override it the activation lock if necessary.

iOS 10 adds a new management policy that lets IT set the default app for audio calls for contacts in corporate-managed directories. iOS 10"s CallKit API lets third-party apps directly handle audio calls, fully integrated with iOS features like notifications and raise-to-answer. The related management control lets IT ensure that only approved apps can take calls to and from business contacts. This can be especially relevant if you require BYOD users to go through a second-line or VoIP app for work so that your business customers and partners are accessing your number or address, not your users".

iOS 10 enhances support for IKEv2 VPNs. It now supports EAP mode, which many organizations require to enable VPN access. As a result, iOS devices can now access such VPNs, assuming you allow VPN usage from them in the first place via management policies.

The other changes to iOS 10 don"t involve mobile management policies, but IT should be aware of how they work to get the desired level of security:

  • Universal clipboard: iOS 10 devices and Macs running MacOS 10.12 Sierra automatically sync their clipboards (for text, images, and more) if they are signed into the same iCloud account. iOS"s management APIs let you restrict data copying from and to corporate apps, a capability for which management servers such as MobileIron"s provide additional controls. The new universal clipboard should pose no extra risk of data leakage.
  • Raise-to-wake lock screen: iOS 10 now shows notifications in an iPhone"s lock screen when the user raises it, not waiting for a user to activate the screen. If you don"t already manage notification display to exclude sensitive information, you should now.
  • Auto-unlock of Macs: WatchOS 3, released today with iOS 10, can unlock a user"s Mac (if running MacOS Sierra) automatically via Bluetooth when it comes within 10 feet of the Mac. But don"t worry that someone could steal a user"s Apple Watch to bypass the password on their work Mac: The unlock works only as long as the watch remains on the user"s skin; once taken off, the user must unlock the Apple Watch with its PIN code and in turn unlock the Mac (or do anything else but tell time).
What MacOS Sierra does that IT should know

Also, MacOS Sierra gains several new management policies, bringing it more in line with iOS devices. For you to apply these policies, the Macs must be enrolled in the Device Enrollment Program.

MacOS Sierra gains controls over a variety of Apple services:IT admins to apply policy restrictions to Apple Music, iCloud Keychain sync, iCloud photo library, Back to My Mac, Note sharing, and Find My Mac.

A new payload lets IT configure the Mac"s IP firewall. But perhaps the most critical new capability lets IT force updates to MacOS via their mobile management server.

What Android Nougat does that IT should know

Like iOS 10, Google"s Android Nougat has a few changes. They include:

  • Always-on VPN: A new mobile management policy can force specified corporate apps to use a VPN. If a VPN isn"t available or can"t connect, the apps won"t work or share data.
  • App-specific access controls: IT can require separate, complex passwords for individual corporate-provisioned apps.IT can also set lock restrictions for specific apps. And IT can choose distinct login screens so that users visually know when they"re logging into corporate services.
  • Work-profile enhancements: IT can suspend access to corporate apps without removing a user"s work profile, such as when a user is on vacation or taking a leave of absence. When IT deletes a work profile, the encryption key is now also deleted to reduce the chances someone could access any residual data. Users gain a new control to disable all work-related apps after-hours or when they don"t want to be distracted.
  • Multiple Wi-Fi certificates: IT can set up corporate Wi-Fi networks profiles with multiple certificate authorities -- no longer only one -- to ensure employees have access across all office locations.
  • Data limits on apps: IT can set data-transfer limits on corporate apps to help reduce battery power through reduced radio usage.
  • Incoming-call access to corporate contacts: Nougat lets a user"s personal phone dialer or messaging app access corporate directory contacts to identify who"s calling or messaging. For example, an HR admin trying to call an employee on his or her personal number is now identified to the employee, though that employee may not have the HR admin"s number in his or her personal contacts list.

Fifty Shades Darker teaser trailer wants you to "slip into something" racier as Jamie Dornan "intrigues""

Fifty Shades Darker Official Trailer - Teaser (2017) - Jamie Dornan Movie

The teaser for the Fifty Shades Darker trailer has landed.

Ahead of tomorrow"s release of the full trailer a 19-second clip has been released by Universal Pictures that wants you to "slip into something" racier, perhaps even a shade darker while Jamie Dornan gets you ""intrigued"".

The second movie - in which Jamie returns as kinky businessman Christian Grey opposite Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele - sees James Foley taking over as director from Sam Taylor-Johnson, who departed the series amid speculation she didn"t get on with E.L. James, who wrote the original novels.

The new teaser does exactly that - tease that we"re about to be in for a steamy treat.

Let"s get a shade darkerVideo loading

It was recently revealed that Dornan didn"t have "big enough b***s" to ask Kim Basinger about her iconic movie "9 1/2 Weeks".

The 34-year-old actor stars opposite the 63-year-old actress in Fifty Shades Darker - the second installment of the raunchy franchise - and found the idea of asking her about the famously steamy film too embarrassing, in much the same way he suspects people will avoid discussing the Fifty Shades saga with him in the future.

He admitted: "I didn"t ask Kim Basinger about "9 1/2 weeks". I didn"t have big enough b***s, in the way that maybe someone won"t be able to look me in the eye one day and talk about Fifty Shades.

But Jamie thinks the author is right to have a "strong opinion" on the direction of the movies.

He told Total Film magazine: "These are Erika"s babies. She"s very right to have a strong opinion on all things Fifty Shades.

"But Erica and James Foley have a good relationship. They get on very well. He brings a different energy. He"s going to put his own stamp on it."

How to save from LibreOffice directly to Google Drive

Google Drive / Docs Tutorial 2016

Image: Jack Wallen

With the latest release of LibreOffice 5.2 a feature that has been around for a while, but often failed, is finally working.

In the LibreOffice file menu, I bet you noticed the Save To Remote Server option. If you tried to use this feature prior to 5.2, you would have experienced little to no success, especially when attempting to connect to your Google Drive account. Fortunately, the latest release has fixed it, and we can all rejoice in the task of easily saving files directly to Google Drive.

Unfortunately, all is not perfect. Attempting to save directly to Google Drive does have one caveat...it"s one that has haunted this feature since 5.1. If you have two-factor authentication set up, chances are you won"t have any luck. Of course, you should have two-step authentication set up.

However, on the off-chance you do not have this extra layer of security enabled on your Google account, you can make this connection happen. Or, if you want to save to a different cloud service, LibreOffice has built-in support for the following:

  • Alfresco 4 and 5
  • IBM FileNet P8
  • IBM Connections Cloud
  • Lotus Quickr Domino
  • Nuxeo 5.4
  • OpenDataSpace
  • OpenText 10.2.0
  • SharePoint 2010/2013
  • WebDAV
  • FTP
  • SSH
  • Windows Share

Regardless of what service you use, the process is very similar. With that in mind, let"s walk through the steps of saving your latest LibreOffice file directly to Google Drive.

SEE: Cloud Computing Policy (Tech Pro Research)

Connecting the cloud service

The first thing you must do is connect LibreOffice to your cloud service of choice (you can connect as many services as you like). Then, select the service you want to use when it"s time to save.

With your file open, click File | Save To Remote Server. When the Remote Files window opens (Figure A), click the Add Service drop-down.

In the resulting window (Figure B), select Google Drive from the Type drop-down and fill out the remaining details.

Figure B

Setting up your Google Drive connection.

Image: Jack Wallen

After you fill out the necessary information, click OK, and the connection will be made. As soon as you"ve made the connection, you"ll see the Save As window for Remote Files (Figure C). You can then navigate to the directory that will house the file, give the file a name, and click Save.

Figure C

Voila! Your file has been saved to your Google Drive account.

Opening a file from a server

In similar fashion to saving a file, you can open a file from your newly established remote connection. Here"s how.

  • Open one of the LibreOffice tools (we"ll use LibreOffice Writer).
  • Click File | Open Remote File.
  • When prompted, enter the password for the remote service.
  • Click OK.
  • Navigate to the file to open and select it.
  • Click Open.
  • You can start working in your file. As you save the opened file, it will automatically save to the remote file and not as a local copy.

    Multiple services

You can have LibreOffice set up for multiple services. If you added various cloud services in the Remote Files tool, you"ll be prompted to select a service when either saving or opening a file.

From the Remote Files window, select which remote server to connect to from the Service drop-down (Figure D) and then, if required, enter the password for that service. You should be good to go.

    Figure D

Selecting your remote service for saving or opening.

    Image: Jack Wallen

    That two-factor authentication caveat

The only thing holding the remote server support feature back is two-factor authentication. For many like myself, two-factor authentication is a must-use feature for cloud storage (as well as social networking and any other online service).

Until LibreOffice can take care of this hiccup, I highly recommend you opting to connect via SSH, WebDAV, or Windows Share. Hopefully, in the next release, we"ll see two-factor authentication finally working with this outstanding LibreOffice feature.

Crimes of today a bit more serious

Yma Sumac - Gopher Mambo (Capitol Records 1954)

The Temptations 1970 hit, Ball of Confusion (Thats What the World Is Today), topped out at No. 3 on Billboard Charts four months after Psychedelic Shack peaked at No.7, five months before Ungena Za Ulimwengu (Unite the World) became No. 33, and a year before Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me) reached No. 1.

Those titles are as current as the newest cell phone, despite approaching age 50 now during a time confusion runs rampant.

    Monday"s Campaign Round-Up, 9.12.16

"Tsunami Of Lies": The Week In Donald Trump | Morning Joe | MSNBC

Todays installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.

    * Donald Trump said on CNBC this morning that he saw his doctor last week for a physical and he intends to release the results sometime this week. In an interesting approach to transparency, the Republican said he expects to report good statistics. Otherwise I wouldnt be telling you I did this.

    * Also this morning, Trump, who apparently knows practically nothing about monetary policy, accused President Obama of keeping interest rates down something the Republican expects to address if inaugurated in January.

    * One more: Trump, true to form, called Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) Pocahontas during his CNBC interview.

    * Michael Morell, the former deputy director of the CIA, and Mike Vickers, the former undersecretary of defense, argued in a Washington Post op-ed that Trump is unqualified for the presidency. Among other things, they pointed to Trumps affection for Vladimir Putin.

    * Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, the Republican Partys vice presidential nominee, released a decades worth of tax returns late Friday. His running mate still refuses to do the same.

    * For anti-Trump Republicans, Libertarian Gary Johnson seems like a possible alternative, though it didnt help his case when GOP insiders noticed he asked on MSNBC last week, What is Aleppo?

    * In Iowa, a new poll from Simpson College and RABA Research shows Trump leading Clinton among Hawkeye State voters by one point, both in head-to-head and four-way match-ups. The latest poll from the Quad City Times, however, shows Clinton ahead in Iowa by two points.

    * On a related note, that Quad City Times poll found Sen. Chuck Grassley (R) up by six over Patty Judge (D) in Iowas U.S. Senate race, 49% to 43%.

    * And in Alaska, six years after Joe Miller won the Republican Senate nomination before losing to Lisa Murkowskis write-in candidacy, Miller is back, this time as the Libertarian nominee.
