Teddy Riley Reminded the World Why He"s a Legend

Teddy Riley And The New Jack Swing Movement

Teddy Riley, renowned for creating the beloved genre of new jack swing, has produced hits for legend after legend, but regardless of his impressive production credits, the man is an icon in his own right.

During the2016 Soul Train Awards, not only was he honored with theSoul Train Legend Award, but he also generously lent his musical talents to us once again, giving a soulful and star-studded performance full of surprise guests.

During his heartfelt acceptance speech, Riley mentioned that while he agreed when fans pointed out that such recognition is "overdue," he"s grateful for the opportunity to accept such an honor, attributing the timing being perfect thanks to G*d. He then humbly dedicated the award to his late parents and all ten of his children, with Twitter joking that 75% of his speech was him simplynaming his childrenone-by-one.

For hishighly-anticipated tribute performance, he brought out the likes ofGuy,Bobby Brown,Doug E. Fresh,Wreckx-N-Effect,V. BozemanandTito Jackson, further proving that he wasn"t here to play around. While running through some of his own chart-toppers, he also performed several celebrated tracks that he produced for other artists, such asWreckx-n-Effects "Rump Shaker,"Michael Jacksons"Remember The Time" andJohnny Kemp"s "Just Got Paid."

In addition to performing a medley from his extensive catalog, the veteran musician also reunited on stage with Guy for the first time in years. Much to the delight of those tuning in, the two performed a handful of their collaborative tracks including "I Like" and "Groove Me."

Take a look at Teddy Riley reminding us why he"s a legend in themagical performanceabove, as well as check out what some fans had to say in the tweets below.

Panthers-Raiders score, highlights: Derek Carr"s finger injury looks really painful

Khalil Mack"s Historic Game! (Week 12 Highlights) | Panthers vs. Raiders | NFL

With the Raiders leading the Panthers 24-7 and looking to secure their No. 1 seed in the AFC, the entire roster and fan base got a collective punch to the gut when it watched emerging star quarterback Derek Carr suffer a horrible-looking finger injury.

Carr suffered the injury while taking a snap from center Rodney Hudson. He was immediately in pain (obviously) and replaced by Matt McGloin while going back to the locker room.

The good news: what appeared to be a dislocated finger isn"t going to keep Carr out very long.

The bad news: the finger looked like this:

via CBS Sports

Ayyyyyyyyyyyyye. That finger, folks, is absolutely bent in the wrong direction. And it"s completely cringe-worthy.

So let"s zoom in on it anyway.

via CBS Sports

Yup, we can confirm. Totally bent in the wrong direction.

According to Tracy Wolfson on the CBS Sports broadcast, the Raiders trainers attempted multiple times to get the finger back into place. They weren"t having any success.

So Carr was taken back to the locker room and emerged just a few plays later with a glove on his hand. The Panthers scored two touchdowns while Carr was gone, but the MVP candidate stepped right in and slung a dart for a completion on his first play back under center.

A missed Graham Gano extra point and a failed two-point conversion left the score at Raiders 24-Panthers 19 when Carr stepped back on the field.

The Panthers would eventually take the lead courtesy of a Carr interception, albeit one that didn"t appear to be a result of his finger injury. But Carr would lead them right back down the field for a touchdown after Ron Rivers decided to punt on a fourth-and-1 with the game tied.

Khalil Mack would snuff out an opportunity for the Panthers to tie or win and the Raiders would eventually go on to claim victory No. 9 on the season, squeaking out another one, this time 35-32.

Suffering a horrific injury, slapping on a glove and coming back out to run an up-tempo offense probably has Al Davis smiling somewhere.

FOX will broadcast the Big Ten Championship Game between Penn State and Wisconsin.

Penn State-Wisconsin Big Ten Championship storylines

Will Saquon Barkley be healthy?

Barkley rolled his ankle against Michigan State and did not return to the game. The Penn State star running backlooked pretty dejected on the sideline and was being worked on by trainers throughout the second half.

Barkley has been terrific all season and, other than perhaps QB Trace McSorley, is the biggest reason the Nittany Lions offense has thrived in its first season under offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead.

Penn State will likely need Barkley back against a stout Wisconsin defense. Entering Saturday, the sophomore had a Big Ten-leading 1,205 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns on 216 carries (5.6 yards per carry).Barkley ran for just 14 yards on 12 carries but did have a rushing touchdown against Michigan State before leavingthe game.

Is Wisconsin QB Alex Hornibrook going to play?

Wisconsin has played musical chairs under center with freshman Alex Hornibrook and seniorBart Houston all season. But head coach Paul Chryst seemed to settle on Hornibrook then Hornibrook exited Saturdays win against Minnesotawith an apparent head injury.

Entering Saturday, Hornibrook completed 100 of 171 passes for 1,214 yards with 8 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. Houston was 60 of 94 for 789 yards, 5 scores and 3 interceptions before Saturday.

Can Penn States offensive line hold up?

Wisconsin has some dangerous pass rushers, including T.J. Watt and Vince Biegel. Penn States offensive line is banged up and doesnt appear to be getting any healthier.Brendan Mahon is out indefinitely, while Andrew Nelson and Paris Palmer are out for the season.

That doesnt bode well for the Nittany Lions. But McSorley has adapted, making plays with his legs when his team needed him all season.
