SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) Several people are at Schenectadys Central Park hoping to hook the elusive Alligator Gar.

Several people heading back out to Iroquois Lake on Friday, hoping to catch the Alligator Gar that found its way into the water.
The invasive fish is proving to be hard to catch. People are using everything from lures, to worms, even raw chicken and shrimp to try and snag the beast.
Some fisherman saying theyve noticed the Alligator Gar in the water over the past month or so. Monitoring its movement and trying to figure out exactly the best way to catch, what is now being called, the Schenectady Lake Monster.
Hes real sluggish. He moves real slow, Justin Franchi said. Hes a night feeder, so during the daytime its going to be hard to wrangle him in.
Some people have had enough, packing up and leaving. The fish is still out here somewhere in these waters.
The fish is garnering so much attention, someone has even crated a parody Twitter account. The Alligator Gar talking about how full he is, announcing a ransom, and evening telling people to leave him alone.
Some fisherman just wont quit.
Big draw. Something big in here something different. So I hope I wind up with him.
I am hoping to get it. If nothing else I got some good fishing.
The mayor of Schenectady is offering a $100 reward to the person who catches the fish.
