What I Really Told Project Veritas"s So-Called Reporters

George Stephanopoulos and Eric Trump Discuss Project Veritas Action Videos

By now James OKeefes heavily edited video alleging to show Democratic operatives planning voter fraud has orbited around the social-media universe. I am one of the people in the film and, like many viewers who have common sense, I found it less of an investigative report and more of a soap-opera drama.Ad Policy

To set the record straight: I am not an operative for the Democratic Party. I did not agree that I would drive a busload of people to commit voter fraud, nor did I agree that I would help anyone commit voter fraud. I met with the group only once, for less than an hourcontrary to their claim that this was a year-long operation.

Like previous OKeefe videos, this one presents heavily edited footage to distort reality and create a narrative that serves the goals of Donald Trump and his supporters. Indeed, a recent report shows the Trump Foundation donating thousands of dollars to Project Veritas, the organization behind the videos.Related Articles

In real life, I was explaining what the outcome of the presidential election will mean for the future of voter-ID laws, which have prevented thousands of Americans from voting; the role of civil disobedience in politics; and the role of activists in planning those protests.

I find it amusing to learn that the people who were interviewing me were fake representatives of an invented donor who supposedly wanted to give money to the immigrant-rights movement. Pretty clever.

During our short conversation, I explained a few times the effective work that my organization, the DREAM Action Coalition, has done and that has been covered by the medianamely, our successful tactic of having people who are directly affected by a broken immigration system confront elected leaders, to obtain answers to the issues that matter to the country.

I myself have confronted Republican and Democratic presidential candidates to get answers that matter to my family; I have even been arrested while speaking out against anti-immigrant politicians.

Throughout the conversation, the two conservative operatives said that their fake donor wanted to go beyond this kind of activism and help people vote twice, as a way to enfranchise those who cant vote. Several times, I informed them that voting twice is illegal, but I told them we could go another route to give people who dont have a vote a voice in the election.

In light of Tea Party efforts around the country to make it harder for minorities to vote, I told them, their donor could immediately support a campaign that would elevate the voices of American citizens who want to commit their vote on behalf of their undocumented loved ones. Another option was to support initiatives like the NYC ID program, which allows anyone, regardless of immigration status, to obtain a much-needed identification card and thus gain more access to civil society. Despite these options, the operatives were pushy in their donors desire to help people to vote twice all over the country.

I assured them my confidence and allowed them to talk about their schemes as a way to humor a potential supporter. Needless to say, never would I have participated in any voter-fraud scheme. The unedited video tells the complete story.

While OKeefes tactics are sloppy and distastefulnot to mention possible grounds for defamationwhat is clear is that OKeefe is, like any activist, battling it out for political relevance. Indeed, we have organized daring actions where we have sneaked into hotel fundraisers, sometimes disguised as waiters or passionate groupies, in order to gain access to a politician.

American history is filled with stories in which activists organized campaigns with elements of theatrics to rally the people into action. Take, for example, the Boston Tea Party. On the night of December 16, 1773, the Sons of Liberty, disguised as Native Americans, boarded three ships in the Boston harbor and threw 342 chests of tea overboard. This pushed a reluctant public closer to war and independence from the British Crown.

During the 1960s, young African-American students at a segregated Woolworths lunch counter in Greensboro, North Carolina, sparked a carefully planned sit-in movement that soon spread to college towns throughout the country. Though many of the protesters were arrested for trespassing, disorderly conduct, or disturbing the peace, their actions made an immediate and lasting impact, forcing establishments to change their segregationist policies.

I certainly dont hold grudges against OKeefe or the operatives, because what these videos demonstrate is the ever-present gladiatorial nature of American politics. He is an activist of the far right who is serving, albeit with deception and lies, the interest of his conservative, mostly white constituency.

The videos got their media hits and successfully deluged my social-media accounts with hate messages, death threats, and even a funny remark that, in addition to being guilty of voter fraud, I would next claim that Donald Trump fondled me. However, this political gladiator is still standing, and I am ready for the next battle on behalf of my family and my community.

Pokemon Go Tracker FastPokeMap Succeeded to Break Pokemon Go Encryption

Pokevision REPLACED!!!! How to use FASTPOKEMAP NOW

Update 10/23: FastPokeMap works again and you can scan for Pokemon now.

It is done. The creator of FastPokeMap just announced that the final piece of the new encryption Niantic released on October 7 has been cracked. It was not developer of FastPokeMap himself who succeeded to reverse engineer the final hash algorithm. A developer identified as elfin did it.

Update: The FastPokeMap team is making good progress and the Pokemon Go tracker is still on track to go online somewhen late Sunday. The team is getting ready to slowly bring back the web service once a closed beta test is successful.

"elfin got a successful scan, i head home and i start integrating his solution to FPM. so now it"s not about bypassing security, it"s about applying the new algorithm to FPM"s old code. which can be a bit tricky. which is why i"m not saying tonight, I actually have to repay for all the servers and bring everything back online too, zzzzzzzzzzz my wallet gonna hurt haha so now it"s just captcha left and that is "easy" to bypass," posted the developer of FastPokeMap on Discord. Below is the moment of the first successful Pokemon scan. It was a Rattata.

The new security hack will be shared with the 3rd party developer community. The FastPokeMap developer announced to share the solution a couple days ago when other developers started to support the effort of reverse engineering the new security.

There is though a big caveat. The current way the encryption is circumvented requires to run Pokemon Go app binaries. The FastPokeMap creator warns on reddit that running a Pokemon Go map scanner based on his crack is 100% not legal.

"You didn"t break any law before for hosting a map, because you used a reverse engineered code that was there for interoperability which was 100% legal. The current way we did the ping is 100% not legal, we"re using PoGO"s binary to do the hashing for us because it still isn"t reversed. Think of it as PSX emulators and BIOS, the BIOS part can"t be distributed freely. So be warned that the current solution is not really elegant," writes whitelist_ip on reddit.

This time the cracking of Niantic"s encryption took at least two weeks. The first time around it took only a couple of days for the 3rd party developer community to connect again to Niantic"s servers.

FastPokeMap will be working again first. The most popular Pokemon Go scanner could be online by Sunday.Soon millions of Pokemon Go trainers will be able to find Pokemon again in real-time. FastPokeMap will be more popular than ever when it comes back online as no other real-time Pokemon scanner will be working yet. The latest update by the creator of FastPokeMap says that the implementation takes 24 hours minimum and 48 hours maximum.

The breaking of the new encryption is not removing the Captcha security measure. Google"s reCaptcha is still something FastPokeMap has to deal with. There are two ways to solve the Captcha issue. It is not clear yet how FastPokeMap will implement it. Either they pay a service like 2Captcha to solve the reCaptcha or users of FastPokeMap will be prompted to solve captchas while using the scanner. It is also not clear yet if the new speed limit is an issue for FastPokeMap.

Running 3rd party Pokemon Go apps has become rather elaborate. There will be less apps and services going forward despite the demand from trainers.

Pokemon Go launched July 6 amidst unprecedented hype. Pokemon Go has dropped dramatically in the number of players, but the games was so popular that the remaining user base is still huge and bigger than other popular mobile games. Pokemon Go had 15.4 million weekly active users according to a report early October. This is 4 times as many as Clash of Clans. Pokemon Go is also by far the fastest gaming app reach $600m in revenues. There is maybe a special Halloween Pokemon Go event.

"Pokmon GO" Map Tracker FastPokeMap Going Back Online

Best Pokemon Go Pokevision Alternatives - WORKING Pokevision Replacement [FastPokeMap|PokemonRadar]

The person behind FastPokeMap, a third-party Pokmon GOmap tracker, has released a series of tweets confirming that reverse-engineering the API was successful, and FastPokeMap will be live once again next week or over the weekend.

The series of tweets also included an essay penned by the developer behind the map tracker, lashing a stream of light opprobrium directed at Pokmon GOdeveloper Niantic.

"I understand about a company trying to keep the integrity of its game. As long as it doesn"t hurt their user base that is," readsthe post.

The FastPokeMap developer opines that Niantic is trying to out-maneuver third-party Pokmon GOsoftware in an attempt to gain full control over the growth of Pokmon GO, even claiming Niantic to be "self-sabotaging" the app to do so.

For the developer, Niantic"s security measures are the real problematic aspect of the app, preventing people from getting creative with the codebase. Further along the essay, the developer lists a couple more issues, which the developer claims to be the cause of Pokmon GO"s diminishing user base.

When Pokmon GOfirst launched, it was hit with an overwhelming maelstrom of users, the sheer number of which even compromised Niantic"s servers to a degree where the app briefly stopped functioning properly. When the issues were ironed out not too long after, hardcore fans began coming up with their own machinations in order to get ahead in the game. Several cheaters were even banned by Niantic, much to the uproar of affected players.

Soon after, map tracks sprung forth, helping users track available Pokmon in their given geography. However, Niantic responded negatively to the presence of these trackers, telling users that the existence of these, while aiding the gameplay to a certain extent, still broke the rules of the game. Niantic shut down a large number of them as a result, to the dismay of many Pokmon GOplayers.

FastPokeMap was one the trackers that were shut down by Niantic. The site, pre-shut down, had been enjoying over 10 million daily site visits. It was one of the most popular map trackers available for the app until Niantic shut it down.

The developer behind the map tracker alongside volunteers got to work following the shutdown, managing to crack the API in just three days out of the planned two-week timetable. Pokmon GOfans should expect FastPokeMap to return once again next week or this weekend, as previously mentioned. Although the developer has found a stopgap fix, it"s highly likely Niantic will manage to shut it down once more.

"[D]on"t be surprised if your user base is tanking and don"t be surprised about the huge backslash from the community," reads the post.

Pokmon GO"s daily active users have significantly diminished overtime, though the app remains to be highly profitable for the developers. Niantic has recently updated the app to primarily improve gym training, alongside a under-the-hood update that brings slight tweaksto users" Pokedex.

Early voting begins in a number of states

Political Insiders Part 2: A look at early voting

A number of states and jurisdictions kicked off early voting Monday, with 15 days to go until Election Day on Nov. 8.

Early voting began Monday in Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Massachusetts, Texas, Wisconsin and some parts of Florida.

Colorado, Florida and Wisconsin are some of the battleground states up for grabs. CBS News battleground tracker has Wisconsin edging Democrat while it rates Colorado and Florida as toss-ups.

Heres the state of the Electoral College race, according to CBS News Elections Director Anthony Salvanto:

The battleground states that had already started offering early voting were Arizona, Georgia, Iowa, Nevada, North Carolina and Ohio.

Thirty-six states and Washington, D.C. offer some form of early voting where the rules make it convenient for voters to cast their ballots before Election Day without the requirement for an excuse to vote early. Early voting generally means that voters are either able to vote at polling stations open for early voting, or theyre able to pick up a ballot and cast it in one place before the election.

The percentage of votes cast in the early voting rounds could reach 40 percent this cycle. In 2012, it reached 35 percent while only 16 percent of the votes cast in 2000 were cast early.

Preliminary data collected by the Associated Press at the end of September suggested that a surge in early voting was benefitting Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump.

A CBS News poll released last week found found Clintons lead over Trump had expanded to 9 percentage points, with 47 percent of likely voters supporting or leaning toward Clinton and 38 percent backing Trump.

Ultimate Standings

Cardinals vs. 49ers (Week 5) | Game Highlights | NFL

Arizona Cardinals

Overall: 5Title track: 43Ownership: 10Coaching: T4Players: 10Fan relations: 8Affordability: 29Stadium experience: 15Bang for the buck: 14Change from last year: +27

With victories comes not just the spoils, but also a fast rise up ESPN"s Ultimate Standings. Cardinals fans" title hopes increased after a 13-3 season last year which ended with them in the NFC Championship Game, and a 27-point jump in these standings soon followed. But their 34 wins in three years had more to do with coach Bruce Arians than anything else.

As we have for the past 13 years, we asked fans to vote on their favorite teams, then ranked all 122 sports franchises from top to bottom.

Full rankings: 1 to 122 | MLB ranks | NBA ranks | NFL ranks | NHL ranks

What"s good

There are few offensive minds in the history of the NFL that are or were as good as that of Cardinals coach Bruce Arians -- so no surprise that he was named the fourth-best coach in all of sports, tied with Pete Carroll and behind only Bill Belichick among NFL coaches. He has become known as a quarterback whisperer for his work with Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger and Andrew Luck. But where he has worked his true magic is with Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer, who had the best season of his career in 2015 at age 35 (which helped Arizona"s "players" ranking jump to 10th). Arians took over a franchise that was mired in mediocrity and turned it into one of the league"s best while leading the Cardinals to the NFC title game in his third season.

What"s bad

Though this generation of Cardinals fans has the highest of hopes, this franchise still hasn"t won a title, reflected by a Title Track ranking of 43, Arizona"s lowest score. The closest Arizona has come to a championship was a berth in Super Bowl XLIII, where it lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers (on a last-minute play called by none other than Arians). Arizona came within a game of reaching the Super Bowl a year ago, and it has the roster to get that far again, despite a 1-3 start to 2016. As long as Arians is at the helm, the Cardinals" title drought has a good chance of coming to an end.

What"s new

Over the last two years, the Cardinals" ranking in fan relations ranking has improved from 85th place to eighth. They"re clearly doing something right. The Cardinals" digital outreach has increased dramatically over the last few years, and fans rated the team second-best in the NFL in engaging with the fan base on social media. Holding training camp at University of Phoenix Stadium has also been a major factor. It allows the average fan to attend training camp in Glendale instead of driving to Flagstaff, and adds post-practice autograph sessions to boot.

Longtime Progressive Activist Tom Hayden Dies At 76

Tom Hayden, a radical activist and advocate for progressive causes, died Sunday at the age of 76.

In the early 1960s, Hayden was a freedom rider in the South and a community organizer in Newark. He was a civil rights activist who became famous for his anti-war efforts and made several high-profile (and later controversial) trips to Vietnam. He was a founding member of the Students for a Democratic Society and wrote the first draft of the influential activist group"s manifesto, the Port Huron Statement.

After helping organize protests at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, he was prosecuted in the "Chicago Seven" conspiracy trial for allegedly inciting a riot. Hayden was convicted, but the charge was later overturned.

Hayden was married several times. Most famously, he was married to Jane Fonda whom he met through their shared anti-war activism for 17 years.

An icon of the anti-establishment protest movement for years, Hayden later became a politician. He made an unsuccessful bid for a Senate seat in 1976, and was later elected to the California state Legislature, where he served for 18 years. He was also an author, publishing books about the Chicago Seven (originally the Chicago Eight, until one defendant had his trial severed) as well as political manifestos and memoirs.

In 1993, Hayden spoke to NPR about the tensions on the streets of Chicago in 1968, and the violence between police and protesters at the Democratic National Convention that led to his trial.

"By 1968, the Vietnam War was claiming tens of thousands of lives, Indo-Chinese and American," he said in that interview. "The Democratic Party was running the country, and so you had a bipartisan Democratic and Republican war policy that seemed to be escalating without end ... the Democratic Party was controlled from the top by traditional bosses who chose their nominees and their parties platforms in smoke-filled rooms. And so the goal of the protest was not only to protest the war, but to protest the disenfranchisement that was so deep. Here we were, if you were 18, you could be drafted and sent to war, but you couldn"t vote for Eugene McCarthy."

He said some things had improved in America over the course of 25 years, but that the country had far to go:

"I would hope that we learned something about how to deal with dissent and protest that having an inclusive process where you open the doors is a lot better than sending in the police. ... What was not learned, however, is the lesson that prevention and getting ahead of our problems is uppermost.

"We still disenfranchise racial minorities in economic terms. Young people still feel they"re not listened to. ... I think the environmental issue has begun to eclipse everything else because our population has doubled and the resources of the world have been cut in half since I was born and there"s very little focus on those issues on the political agenda.

"So I don"t know on the balance sheet whether to mark myself as an optimist or pessimist, but we"ve got to go on."

Go on he did serving several more years in office and writing more than a dozen other books. He faced censure from some on the left who accused him of joining the same establishment he once criticized, as well as those on the right who objected to his protests in the "60s.

But as the decades passed, Hayden remained a prominent voice on progressive causes, including environmental issues, economic policy and continued anti-war efforts.

More recently, he surprised some in progressive circles by supporting Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders in this year"s Democratic primary.

"Bernie and I only have one thing in common you need to know: We"re both politicians so we make decisions based on what"s possible," he told NPR this summer. "I"ve really been trying to work towards a goal that seems to be getting realized, and that"s a serious united front against Trump."

Minnesota Vikings safety Andrew Sendejo to have MRI on injured ankle

ESPN First Take - Today Philadelphia Eagles vs. Minnesota Vikings

One of the best surprises this year has been the play of Minnesota Vikings safety Andrew Sendejo on defense. The athletic defensive back has made a strong case to be the full-time starter next to Harrison Smith, but he may end up missing some time this season after an injury.

During the week 7 game against the Eagles, Sendejo was carted out after hurting hisankle and did not return to the game. Now, it is being reported that the severity of the injury will need to be diagnosed with an MRI.

The news about the MRI was announced by Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press. If Sendejo is to miss significant time, it would be a big blow to a defense hoping to give their young safeties time to grow a develop.

While Sendejo was out, the Minnesota Vikings turned to Jayron Kearse, who didnt exactly get a rave review from head coach Mike Zimmer:

(Kearse) missed a couple tackles, said Vikings coach Mike Zimmer. He was a little slow in a couple of areas to get to some places. I see the mistakes, but I cant tell you he did this good or he did that good.

But Sendejo isnt going to let the injury get him down. Hes going to keep his hopes high and keep working hard.

Im staying positive and well just see how it goes, Sendejo said.

Hopefully, Andrew Sendejo will be available and healthy for the week 8 matchup against the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football. This will be a big game for the Minnesota Vikings to prove they can bounce back, and a primetime spot is a great place to do it.
