Deondre Francois tied a season high with three touchdown passes and Dalvin Cook ran for 108 yards to help No. 20 Florida State rout visiting Boston College 45-7 on Friday night.
Cook became only the second Seminoles back to go over 100 yards in 15 meetings against the Eagles and the first since Ricky Williams had 109 yards in 1980.
The junior, who also had a touchdown on 18 carries, moved within 19 yards of breaking Warrick Dunns school career mark of 3,959 yards.
Francois completed nine of his first 11 passes, and the Seminoles scored on their first two drives.
A 6-yard scoring strike to Auden Tate marked the first time Florida State (7-4, 4-3 ACC, No. 18 CFP) has scored on its opening drive since Sept. 24 at South Florida. The freshman was 16 of 24 for 183 yards, but suffered a shoulder contusion late in the third quarter and did not return.
Sean Maguire came in and added a pair of touchdowns. Tate, who had six receptions for 101 yards, had two touchdowns.
The Eagles (4-6, 1-5) had three first downs on their first two drives before having nine straight three-and-outs. They averted a shutout with 3:21 remaining in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard touchdown run by Richard Wilson.
Matchup loses luster
Its safe to say neither Stanford nor Oregon thought either team would be where it is now when the season started.
Stanford, with Heisman-hopeful Christian McCaffrey, was ranked No. 8 in the preseason and expected to claim the Pac-12 title. But now the Cardinal are 6-3 overall and 4-3 in the league.
The Ducks, who played for the national title two seasons ago, are 3-6 overall (1-5 Pac-12) and facing the prospect they might not become bowl eligible.
Either Stanford or Oregon had won every Pac-12 championship since the league expanded and a title game was established in 2011. Each time the teams had met since 2008, one or both were ranked.
Certainly many had Saturdays game in Eugene circled on the calendar at the start of the season as a game that could have postseason implications. But now it looks like the norths biggest game will be the Apple Cup between Washington and Washington State.
Stanford coach Davis Shaw said the records dont diminish the importance of this game to both programs.
Records dont matter. These are two proud football programs whove had very good football games the last four years, Shaw said. Its a tough place to play and a tough place to win.

Stanford looks to have recovered with two straight victories after losses to the Huskies, Cougars and upstart Colorado. The Cardinal defeated Oregon State 26-15 last weekend.
Oregon defeated Arizona State at Autzen two weeks ago, but fell to USC 45-20 at the Coliseum last Saturday.
Utes win big on the road
Joe Williams ran for 181 yards and two touchdowns, and No. 19 Utahs defense had 11 sacks in a 49-26 victory over host Arizona State late Thursday night.
Utah (8-2, 5-2 Pac-12) overcame a slow start with a series of spectacular plays against the FBS worst passing defense to end an eight-game losing streak in Tempe.
Troy Williams threw for 296 yards and connected with Raelon Singleton on three of his four touchdown passes to help the Utes stay within reach of No. 16 Colorado in the Pac-12 South.
Arizona State (5-4, 2-4) has lost five of six since opening 4-0.

Earlier this week as rumors swirled about the security of Texas coach Charlie Strongs job, WNBA player and Texas alumni Imani Boyette noticed something strange in her husband, defensive lineman Paul Boyette as he praised his coach in interviews.
He was crying.
Ive been with this man 5 years and only seen him cry 3x, she wrote, adding an emoji with a tear.
On Thursday, as the rest of us were scarfing down turkey, it was LSU players turns to rally around Ed Orgeron, their interim coach who stepped in to lead the team after Les Miles was fired earlier this year.
Duke Riley, a senior, posted a video of of the team chanting Keep Coach O after the Tigers win over Texas A&M.
He added on Twitter:
Ugly win, but a win is a win!! Keep Coach O!!!!! Please!!! Keep Coach O!! He keeps us going he keeps us fighting!!

The chants came after swirl of reports that popped up in the middle of the game that rumored that Houstons Tom Herman was close to being named the new coach at LSU, a move that wouldnt be surprising and as my colleague Nate Scott wrote earlier, would replace someone who isnt really going to make it as the head coach of the Tigers. But the display of support for the coaches who are on the hot seat speaks to one of the essential problems in college athletics: Its a business.
Coaches are judged on win-loss records, on their ability to brighten the future of the program not as much on their ability to impact their players life.
But these recent images of players standing up for their coaches and telling us all what they mean to them should remind us of something more: Its a business that involves the lives of a bunch of college kids who look to coaches as mentors, even as father figures sometimes.
It goes both ways of course the hard part of players doesnt just come when coaches are fired, it also hurts when theyleave programs for a better job. In 2014, I spoke to one former player about what it was like for him when Mack Brown left North Carolina to go to Texas:
Mack was a guy who recruited me, he remembered. He got me to come there. I believed in everything he was saying. He was a really good guy. He was more of a father figure to all of us so when he left it hurt it really hurt. We never expected it to happen we were told hes going to be there forever and then he actually leaves.
This isnt a plea for the coaching carousel to end, or for schools to not look for the best person to lead their programs or even coaches to do what they have to do and should do for their families and their own careers. College football is long past holding onto something more than that.
But watching the videos of the LSU players from last night, its hard to not feel for the people at the center of the whirlwind.

Jake Brownings sensational start to Fridays Apple Cup revived the discussion about his Heisman Trophy candidacy.
He will almost certainly need a strong finish in next Fridays Pac-12 championship game to earn an invitation to the Heisman ceremony in two weeks.
Browning 13 for 17 for 202 yards and had all three of his touchdown passes in the first quarter as the No. 6 Huskies jumped out to a 28-3 first-quarter lead en route to a 45-17 victory over No. 23 Washington State in Pullman. The sophomore QB finished 21-of-29 for 292 yards with no turnovers and a 191.1 rating.
The Heisman finalists will be announced Dec. 5.
It would be an honor and all that,Browning said, but thats not my main goal. I hope everyone on this team gets a personal award or whatever it is. But I hope we win the next game more.
The Huskies will watch today to see if they will play either Colorado or USC in the Pac-12 title game. Colorado will win the Pac-12 South if they beat Utah at 4:30 p.m. PT on FOX. If the Buffaloes lose, USC wins the South.
If the Huskies (11-1, 8-1 Pac-12) win the Pac-12 title, they will almost certainly claim one of four invitations to the national playoffs. The College Playoff Committee announces their final rankings on Dec. 5.
The message from Chris Petersen to his team all season has been to block out such things let the chips fall at the end of the season. And that time is quickly approaching.
We talk about (the CFP) just like we talk about what happened in class, Browning said. We have no control over that.
Browning became just the third quarterback in Pac-12 history to throw for 40 touchdowns in a season while leading the Huskies to 11 wins for just the fourth time in program history.
The Huskies offense broke 1991 teams school record for points now with 537 in 12 games, or 44.8 points per game, with at least two more games to play.

GameStop Corp forecast a bigger-than-expected drop in same-store sales for the crucial holiday quarter, and the company said it expected revenue from its business of selling videogames to largely decline during the period.
The company, the world"s largest retailer of video games, has been struggling as more players switch to downloading games on their consoles from buying physical copies.
Revenue from the videogame category, which includes new hardware, software and accessories, is expected to decline in double digits in November and by single digits in December, Chief Operating Officer Tony Bartel said in an interview on Tuesday.
Bartel said the company expected revenue from the business to be flat to positive in January.
He also said sales of Activision Blizzard"s latest "Call of Duty" game would be lower than a year earlier.
GameStop also forecast total sales to decline between 5-10 percent in the current quarter, translating into revenue of $3.17 billion-$3.35 billion.
Analysts on average were expecting revenue of $3.45 billion, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
However, GameStop"s shares gained 2.1 percent to $24.61 in after-market trading as the company maintained its full-year profit forecast.
Bartel said the company expects to expand its operating earnings by diversifying its portfolio.
Under Chief Executive Paul Raines, GameStop has been expanding its digital and mobile offerings and snapping up technology brand stores that sell mobile phones and other electronic devices.
Revenue in its technology brand business rose 54.4 percent in the third quarter from a year earlier.
The company said it expected sales at established stores to decline between 7 percent and 12 percent in the fourth quarter, much bigger than the 7.1 percent fall analysts were expecting, according to research firm Consensus Metrix.
GameStop"s net income fell to $50.8 million, or 49 cents per share, in the third quarter ended Oct. 29 from $55.9 million, or 53 cents per share, a year earlier.
The company"s net sales fell to $1.96 billion from $2.02 billion, the third straight quarterly decline.
Excluding items, GameStop earned 49 cents per share, beating analysts" estimate of 47 cents.
The numbers were in line with the company"s preliminary estimates released earlier this month.
