1

"NewsRadio" Season 4

I cannot stress this enough: Newsradio is one of the smartest ensemble comedies of all time. OF. ALL. TIME, people!

Since it premiered on NBC way back in 1995 (and was routinelyshifted around their primetime schedule), theres an entire generation who may be unfamiliar withthe unconventional charmsof this trenchant sitcom. Featuring dynamic comedic performances from Phil Hartman, Dave Foley, Maura Tierney, and Stephen Root, NewsRadio is not an easy sitcom to stream. Thankfully, you can watch the entire fourth season on Crackle.

2

"Happy Endings" Season 2

Happy Endings packed more jokes into their cold open than most shows deliver in 22 minutes. Likable actors, sparkling chemistry, and razor-sharp dialogue has elevatedthis phenomenal sitcom to cult favorite status.

Happy Endings is lightening in a bottle, and you can stream the entire second season I suggest starting with the episode Big White Lies on Crackle.

3

"Firefly"

Despite lasting only one season on Fox, Joss Whedons Firefly continues to endure as a cult favorite. This beloved Nathan Fillion series was so well-received during its initial run thatit led to a movie,2005sSerenity.

You can streamall 14 episodes of the series on Crackle.

4

"Mad About You" Season 4

Few TV couples had more effortless chemistry than Jamie and Paul Buchman, aka Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser.

Modern audiences may recognize Reiser from his scene-stealing performances in shows like Red Oaks and Married, but before the actors recentReiser-ssance, he was half of one of Must-See TVs most beloved couples. Despite its popularity, Mad About You is what we call a sporadic streamer. Random episodes pop up periodically, but its difficult to stream the entire series for free.

All the more reason to watch Season 4 sooner rather than later.

Where to stream Mad About You

5

"What"s Happening!!" Season 1

Airing from 1976 to 1979, Whats Happening!! follows three teens who, according to IMDB, learn about life, love, friendship, credit cards, gambling, and a variety of other things. Thats a lot of knowledge for only65 episodes!

You may recall Fred Rerun Berrys memorable appearance from the second season ofScrubswhen the actor appeared via dream sequence to perform his well-known Rerun dance.

All 21 Season 1 episodes are now streaming on Crackle.

6

"The Tick"

Fox possesses a bevy of blunders when it comes to premature cancellations.Kitchen Confidential, Wonderfalls, and The Good Guys, three programs that showed tremendous promise, never made it to Season 2.

Joining them onthe unemployment line is The Tick,Patrick Warburtons irreverent 2001 superhero comedy. While the series was critically acclaimed, it didnt attract a wide enough audience to keep it around for a second season. But The Tick is resilient.

Amazon Studios ordered their very own Tick pilot to series, so look for another season of the endearing blue guy (now played by Peter Serafinowicz) later this year!

"The Shield" Seasons 1 & 2

Widely regarded as one of the best sitcoms of all time, Norman Lears All in the Family was a ground-breaking television series that dealt with a variety of hot-button issues previously considered to be too taboo for TV.

Despite being a misanthropic bigot, Archie Bunker is considered one of the best sitcom characters in history, and Rolling Stone named All in the Family the ninth greatest TV show of all time.

You can see what all the fuss is about by streaming the third season on Crackle.

"Huff" Season 1

UConn women"s basketball team has even former pro coaches impressed

UConn Women"s Basketball vs Albany Highlights

STORRS >> For seven days earlier this month former WNBA coach Dan Hughes had a front-row seat for not only five postseason games played by the four-time defending national champion UConn womens basketball team, but also practices and shootarounds.

Hughes, who retired as the San Antonio Stars head coach and general manager after the 2016 season, was part of the broadcasting crew for both the American Athletic Conference tournament and the first two games in the NCAA tournament. His gig gave Hughes, who won 237 regular-season games in the WNBA, a chance to check out UConn coach Geno Auriemma and his staff preparing the Huskies for a run at an unprecedented fifth consecutive national title.

Hughes coached his WNBA teams to the playoffs 10 times in his 17 seasons, including San Antonios run to the championship series in 2008, so he has a different take on things than many of those who have been color commentators on UConn games over the years.

I think they do an incredible job of putting together the pieces from a teaching standpoint, hughes said. They do a great job of player development, they do a great job of conceptual team things and then they also teach the players to be adult-like in their maturity in the game. They kind of understand it is not just providing information, it is getting them to own the process. They do as good as a job as I see on those different things, so whatever they chose to do comes out in a very mature way.

Auriemma has often said his teams play its best when it is running offense instead of executing plays. Rather than slowing his players down by demanding that they run things a particular way, he asks them to read what the defense is giving them and act accordingly.

It is one thing to say, I want you to go here, and I want you to be here, and do this, Hughes said. They teach it in a way that the players know why they are going there more than some. It is not just you go here and do this, they kind of have to own the totality of why they are going there and they do that really well as teachers.

Hughes had been on the committee which selected the U.S. womens national teams when Auriemma was the national team coach. It gave Hughes a glimpse into the way Auriemma runs practices and also how he holds his players to a certain expectation level.

I kind of knew they did it, Hughes said. Where I got a good appreciation was being with USA Basketball for the last eight years, watching Geno doing it in short pieces with them. The other thing that is really great is Chris Dailey. I have dealt with her a lot over the years. I dealt with her a lot of the time when the kids are going from college into the pros, and she has been so reliable and understanding that process and the players have been so mature. When I got them they were so mature as teammates, they were mature in how to practice and I didnt have to do a lot, they came in ready.

Hughes coached Jen Rizzotti from 2001-03 when he was the head coach of the now defunct Cleveland Rockets. He came full circle when he was able to work with former UConn point guard Moriah Jefferson, who was selected by San Antonio with the second overall pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft.

Many years Jefferson would have been named the WNBA Rookie of the Year, but with her former UConn teammate Breanna Stewart on the scene, she had to settle for being a member of the All-Rookie team.

Hughes is rather certain that will not be the final honor bestowed on Jefferson in the WNBA.

I believe at some point she will be the best player at the point position in the WNBA, Hughes said, She reminded me of me coaching Becky Hammon, she reminded me of me coaching Jen Rizzotti, Dawn Staley, Suzie McConnell-Serio and yet she is 22 years old. It was so much fun for me to have somebody who looked at the game intelligently, was tough, but highly skilled. If you cant get energy from coaching Moriah Jefferson then you are dead. If you have any pulse going, she just makes you want to be there. She was fun.

Lollapalooza 2017: Chance the Rapper, Lorde, Arcade Fire top 170-band lineup

O QUE VAI ROLAR NO LOLLAPALOOZA!!!!!

Chance the Rapper, Arcade Fire and Lorde are among the headliners announced wednesday for lollapalooza.

muse, the XX, Blink-182, DJ Snake and Justice also are stacked at the top of the festival, which returns to Grant Park on Aug. 3-6. One-day tickets ($120) go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday at lollapalooza.com.

Among the 170 bands scheduled for eight stages over four days are Cage the Elephant, Run the Jewels, the Shins and Spoon. Rae Sremmurd, Lil Yachty and Big Sean are among the hip-hop chart-climbers sprinkled throughout the lineup.

Four-day tickets sold out in 2 hours 24 minutes Tuesday, a less frenzied pace than the 2016 four-day ticket on-sale, which swept through 320,000 tickets in 46 minutes. Sales were goosed Tuesday when Chance the Rapper took to his Twitter account and its 3.5 million followers to suggest, Yes Id say go buy the #lolla ticket.

The overall lineup continues to show signs of strain. Last year, the festival spread to four days from three for the first time, and the talent thinned out there simply arent enough quality bands and artists touring each summer to fill that many slots. Similarly, there appears to be an awful lot of filler to wade through each day this year to get to the gems.

Heres a breakdown of each days lineup:

Aug. 3: Muse, Lorde, Cage the Elephant, Wiz Khalifa, Porter Robinson, Liam Gallagher, Migo, Spoon, Lil Uzi Vert, Jon Bellion, George Ezra, Capital Cities, Kaytranada, Baauer, the Drums, A-Trak, Tritonal, Gryffin, CRX, Temples, Suicideboys, Hippo Campus, Honne, Cheat Codes, Kevin Devine, Paper Diamond, Middle Kids, the Hunna, Oliver Tree, Jain, the OMys, Declan McKenna, Unlike Pluto, Atlas Genius, Arizona, Gibbz, Pham, Michael Blume, Elohim, Stanaj, Kweku Collins, Max.

Lordes ascent was affirmed with her performance at Lollapalooza in 2014. Now her second album, Melodrama, due out June 16, is one of the years most anticipated releases, and the 20-year-old New Zealand singer is sure to draw one of the weekends biggest crowds. Haitian-Canadian DJ Kaytranada will bring a heady inventiveness to his club beats. Spoons terse, taut melodies will keep the frills to a minimum. Chicago MC Kweku Collins will likely draw an early slot, so dont be tardy.

MOST READ ENTERTAINMENT NEWS THIS HOUR

Aug. 4: The Killers, Blink-182, DJ Snake, Run the Jewels, Foster the People, Ryan Adams, Grmatik, Phantogram, Tegan and Sara, Crystal Castles, Kaleo, Little Dragon, 3Lou, Whitney, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Majid Jordan, Getter, the Pretty Reckless, Slushii, Cloud Nothings, Jidenna, Mura Masa, Bishop Briggs, Dokay, the Districts, Pup, Moose Blood, Skott, the Lemon Twigs, Mondo Cozmo, San Holo, the Frights, Saint Jhn, Bibi Bourelly, Missio, Cobi, Moksi, Slothrust, Allan Rayman, Frenship, Harriet Brown, Jess Malin.

Run the Jewels is one of the best things about this days lineup and the entire weekend, for that matter El-P and Killer Mike are one of the best duos in hip-hop history. Whitney quickly rose from local buzz band to international touring act on the heels of its excellent 2016 debut, Light Upon the Lake. Glam duo Lemon Twigs is coming off a much acclaimed series of performances at the recent South by Southwest Music Conference in Austin, Texas.

Aug. 5: Chance the Rapper, the XX, Alt-J, the Head and the Heart, Kaskade, Glass Animals, Vance Joy, Mac Demarco, Russ, 21 Savage, Banks, Sylvan Esso, Alison Wonderland, Live, Royal Blood, Nghtmre, Warpaint, Highly Suspect, Zara Larsson, Jai Wolf, Ephwurd, Alvvays, G Jones, Amine, San Fermin, the Japanese House, Leon, the Shelters, Blossoms, Jacob Banks, Michael Christmas, Flint Eastwood, Ron Gallo, Madeintyo, Young Bombs, the London Souls, 888, Wingtip, Colony House, Brayton Bowman, Lady Pills.

Chance is a seasoned festival performer already, and is sure to pull out all the stops in this hometown headlining appearance. In its timing, his high-profile slot recalls Kanye Wests headlining appearance at the 2006 Lollapalooza when he brought out Common, Twista and Lupe Fiasco for cameos. Who will Chances guests be? Warpaint remains an excellent summer concert band with its slinky grooves and breezy vocals. Veteran Chicago DJ Kaskade puts songs and dynamics ahead of predictable crescendos.

Aug. 6: Arcade Fire, Justice, Big Sean, the Shins, Zeds Dead, Rae Sremmurd, Tove Lo, Milky Chance, Grouplove, DVBBS, Borgore, Lil Yachty, London Grammar, Rag N Bone Man, Noname, Joey Badass, Carli XCX, Car Seat Headrest, Slander, Machine Gun Kelly, 6lack, Sampha, Maggie Rogers, NF, Joyryde, Joseph, Barns Courtney, Vant, Grace Mitchell, Blaenavon, Lo Moon, Dirty Audio, Whethan, Sofi Tukker, Xavier Omar, Boogie, Wax Motif, the Walters, Duckwrth, Spencer Ludwig, Flor, Goody Grace, Tucker Beathard.

The fifth Arcade Fire studio album is due out this year and a new single, I Give You Power, features Mavis Staples. If the Chicago gospel-soul great is in town, is there anything that can keep her from making an appearance during the Montreal bands headlining set? The Shins write beautiful songs but have never been a particularly dynamic live act. The screaming-fan ratio will be extremely high for hip-hop upstarts Rae Sremmurd and Lil Yachty, but expect Chicagos gifted Noname to deliver one of the days most impressive sets. For a dose of cathartic guitar-rock, Car Seat Headrest is your ticket.

The Kidzapalooza stage, an annual fixture, will include performances by Tim Kubart & the Space Cadets, Lucky Diaz, Q Brothers, Sleepy Man, Jo Jo & the Pinecones, Lard Dog & the Band of Shy, Little Miss Ann, School of Rock Allstars.

Warning: The US Stock Market Is An Anomaly

Stock Market DROPS! These Chart Show Something Ready to BLOW!

U.S. stocks have delivered incredible stock market returns for a long time: the average compounded total return on the U.S. stock market has been nearly 10 percent per yearfrom 1927 through 2016(Using data from Ken Frenchs website on the market-capitalization weighted CRSP index).

Doesnt sound impressive?

Get the entire 10-part series on Timeless Reading in PDF. Save it to your desktop, read it on your tablet, or email to your colleagues.

Consider the fact that a $100 invested for 90 years at 10 percent would compound to over $530,000. Perhaps this is why my two favorite investors of all time suggest that savers stash the bulk of their cash in the US stock market:

First,Warren Buffets advice:

Put 10% of the cash in short-term government bonds and 90% in a very low-cost S&P 500 index fund. (I suggest Vanguards.)

Next,Jack Bogles advice:

I wouldnt invest outside the U.S. If someone wants to invest 20 percent or less of their portfolio outside the U.S., thats fine. I wouldnt do it, but if you want to, thats fine.

When great minds speak, we should listen, but we should also ask a critical question: Are Warren and Jack making this recommendation based on evidence? Or are they basing this recommendation on their experience as long-time US equity market investors?

In this short essay, I explore the idea that Buffett and Bogles advice should be digested with a healthy dose of skepticism. To make this point, I highlight several recent research articles that suggest US stock returns are exceptional relative to all other stock markets across time. The US stock market is an anomaly and perhaps the ubiquitous disclaimer, Past performance may not indicate future performance, is an important consideration with respect to the expected performance of the US stock market over the next century.

What is the Equity Premium Puzzle?

The exceptional performance of the US stock market has been deemed the, The equity premium puzzle, by academic researchers and was first discussed in an influential academic paper by Rajnish Mehra and Edward Prescott in 1985.

Here is a quote from the original paper:

Restrictions that a class of general equilibrium models place upon the average returns of equity and Treasury bills are found to be strongly violated by the U.S. data in the 1889-1978 period

The authors find that stocks beat bonds by an average of 6% a year, which is simply too high to be justified by any equilibrium model in existence at the time. Here is the key table that outlined the real risk premium for US stocks:

US Stock MarketHow Academics Tackled theEquity Premium Puzzle

Academics struggled to build theoretical models that would predict such a high return for the U.S. stock market. Despite significant efforts, the research community never seemed to form a general consensus that the equity premium puzzle would be solved.

Nonetheless, one of two solutions was explored in an effort to answer the puzzle:

  • Approach #1: Build elaborate models that predict why the expected US equity premium is justifiablyhigh.
  • Approach #2: Refute the premise that the historical US equity premium is a valid estimate: perhaps high past US stock market returns simply reflected a lucky run?

Researchers continue to explore solution #1, but there seems to be no clear answer in sight. Other academics have explored option #2, by collecting more data on various stock markets across different points in time. Philippe Jorion and William N. Goetzmann provide a good example of this research in their paper, Global Stock Markets in the Twentieth Century. The authors examine 39 global stock markets from 1921 through 1996 and, as before, saw evidence of the outperformance of the U.S. stock market, which provided a real return (i.e., adjusted for inflation) of 4.32% over the period, the highest of all countries (the median performance was 0.80% for the other countries). But the US stock markets strong performance was old news and not the point of their story. Their key insight was identifying a clear survivor bias in the data: The longer a countrys stock market existed, the higher the annual return.

This relationship is best captured in Figure 1 from their original paper:

In short, the returns of the winners depend on their past survival. If investors can predict with perfect foresight which countries will survive and which countries will die, using the past results might be meaningful. However, is it realistic that investors have the ability to know future winners? Unlikely.

To make matters worse for those who have been conditioned to believe the US stock market experience is normal, a new paper by Notre Dame professor Benjamin Golez and Stanford professor Peter Koudijs, titled, Four Centuries of Return Predictability, performs a similar out of sample study as Jorion and Goetzmann. In their research the authors look at data from the Netherlands and the UK from 1629 to 1812, the UK market from 1813 to 1870, and US stock markets from 1871 to 2015. They estimate that the equity risk premium, or the spread in average returns between stocks and bonds, are around 2.3% to 3.5%for the Netherlands and the UK in the earlier time periods and around 6% for the US market.

So the US experienced an equity risk premium that was 2-3x that of other markets. Wow.

Will High USEquity Premium Continue into the Future?

On one hand, perhaps the US stock market will continue to defy market expectations and generate high realized returns in the future. However, on the other hand, investors may be wise to acknowledge the incredible amount of potential luck the US has experienced. Perhaps Jack Bogel, who ironically suggests a huge overweight position to US equities, makes the best case that we should think twice about this recommendation.

Consider a PBS interview with Jack Bogle where he states the following:

Good markets turn to bad markets, bad markets turn to good markets. So the system is almost rigged against human psychology that says if something has done well in the past, it will do well in the future. That is not true. And its categorically false. And the high likelihood is when you get to somebody at his peak, hes about to go down to the valley. The last shall be first and the first shall be last.

As Bogle points out, it may be precisely the past winners who are about to fail.

Famed Wharton professor Jeremy Siegel has a related statement in his paper, The Equity Premium: Stock and Bond Returns since 1802:

Certainly investors in1872did not universally expect the United States to become the greatest economic power in the next century. This was not the case in many other countries. What if one had owned stock in Japanese or German firms before World War II? Or consider Argentina, which, at the turn of the century, was one of the great economic powers.

Its probably likely that Argentinian investors predicted continued economic dominance at the turn of the century. They were wrong. Perhaps US investors are suffering from a similar level of hindsight bias? Can we determine with certainty that the U.S. will be a superpower 100 years from now? We should consider the fact that when we look at past U.S. returns, we are looking at a market that did

What To Wear To Lollapalooza 2017 To Look Stylish & Feel Comfortable

LOLLAPALOOZA 2017 - TUDO SOBRE O LINEUP

When people go to a music festival, they"re going for the music, sure, but I feel like a lot of people also go for the fashion at least that"s half the reason I go to Lolla. So if you"re wondering what to wear to Lollapalooza 2017, look no further because I am a pro at dressing for festivals.

Going to a festival is an opportunity to get dressed up in trends that might be a little too "out there" for everyday life. While I may not advocate for wearing only a bikini (although if that"s your style, you do you!), there are so many fun trends you can wear to Lollapalooza that are cute and most importantly, comfortable.

Comfort is key when you"re on your feet all day (read: dancing all day). I always recommend wearing a pair of old ankle booties to music festivals because there is nothing more painful than having someone in a mosh pit land on your exposed, sandaled toe. Broken toes really put a damper on four day festival weekends. Trust.

I"ve also worn matching pajama sets to Lollapalooza. Not only are they comfortable, but they are also trendy and a music festival is an easy place to get away with wearing printed pajamas or a coordinating top/short set.

I would also recommend bringing a flannel shirt to tie around your waist. While it might be hot during the day, the ride home will probably get chilly, especially if you"re taking an over air-conditioned subway or train ride.

So without further ado, here is what to wear for lollapalooza 2017 while also capitalizing on 2017"s hottest trends.

Floral Applique Lace Bodysuit, $20, Forever 21

An embroidered bodysuit is a great way to incorporate two of summer"s hottest trends. Pair this sheer leotard from Forever 21 with a pair of high waisted shorts, a flannel around your waist and a pair of booties and you"ll be good to go.

Pretty Sight Pink Mirrored Sunglasses, $22, Lulus

Fun and cheap sunnies are definitely the way to go for Lolla. You won"t want to worry about losing or breaking a pair of nice sunglasses, but it will most likely be sunny. My personal favorite is heart shaped sunglasses.

Giselle Bra Body Chain, $26, Urban Outfitters

Again, a music festival is a great opportunity to wear a body chain. It"s a little over the top for some people, but if you"re ever going to wear one, Lolla is the place to do it. And if Bella Hadid can wear a bra chain to Coachella, then I think it"s fair game to wear to Lollapalooza.

AEO Eyelet Tie Front Top, $40, AEO

Tie front tops are a big trend for 2017 and pairing them with printed shorts is a great idea.

Adidas Gazelle Sneakers, $100, Asos

The trendiest sneaker of the year would be perfect for Lolla. Although you may want to get a Lolla-specific knockoff pair so your nice ones don"t get ruined.

Multi Chevron Sequin Crop Top, $26, Love Culture

Because why not?

Kikiriki Seashell Bodysuit, $28, Forever 21

When else are you going to have an opportunity to wear a sheer top with seashells covering your b*****s? Lolla is the time to step out of your comfort zone and wear something adventurous.

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Weightless Face Sunscreen, $7, Target

You"ll definitely want to wear sunscreen to Lollapalooza. You"ll be miserable if you get a sunburn the first day of a four day festival. Learn from my mistakes. (P.s. They don"t let you bring aerosol sunscreen into the festival, so plan accordingly.)

Former MMA Fighter War Machine Convicted on 29 Counts for Attack on Christy Mack

War Machine | Teaser [HD] | Netflix

YouTube, Instagram

Former MMA fighter War Machine, whose violent tendencies propelled him to a measure of fame and fortune before ultimately leading to his downfall, is going to jail for a long, long time.

On Monday, a Las Vegas jury found the 35-year-old guilty of 29 felony counts related to attacks on his ex-girlfriend, the p**n star Christy Mack, and a male friend of hers. Though jurors convicted War Machine of kidnapping, sexual assault and battery, among other things, they deadlocked on two attempted murder charges. Still, War Machine, who legally changed his name from Jon Koppenhaver in 2008, could go to jail for the rest of his life.

the charges against war machine stem from anattack on Mack and her friend, Corey Thomas, who was in bed with her when the former UFC and Bellator fightershowed up to her home early one August morning. After assaulting Thomas, who said on the witness stand that War Machine broke his nose and dislocated his shoulder, the fighter, who"d last entered the cage in October of 2013, turned his attention to Mack.

She says that War Machine, who"d assaulted and raped her multiple times in the months leading up to the attack, knocked her out, tried to rape her and then told her he was going to kill her. When he went searching through her house for a sharp knife, Mack escaped. But the damage wasdone. The attack left her with broken teeth, a fractured eye socket and a lacerated liver, among other injuries. She shared these pictures of herself after the attack.

Mack"s recovery was long and painful. She required months of dental and nose surgery to reconstruct her face. But as she regularly makes clear on Instagram, she"s now feeling (and looking) just fine.

War Machine, meanwhile, never inspired much sympathy in the lead up to his trial. In one odd moment he reportedly blew a kiss at a prosecutor in the middle of a hearing. And in another that perfectly demonstrated his attitude toward the violence he perpetrated against Mack,he laughed at herwhile she was testifying.

So long, scumbag.
