Tornado warning! ( Vlog )
As tornadoes and severe storms rolled through the Atlanta area Wednesday, students and staff at nearby Bremen High School took shelter while waiting for the severe weather to pass.
Then something pretty cool happened while the teenagers sat facing each other in the hallway they started to sing.
Beautifully, in fact. Multiple harmonies, interweaving parts and even some beat-boxing to boot.
The tune was Mary, Did You Know? a popular modern Christmas song which asks how a mother fathomed the incredulity of her son, Jesus, as savior of the world.
Check it out:
Who is afraid during a tornado watch/warning at BHSnot me because Im reassured and reminded today that Marys baby boy has got this! teacher Jessica Pruitt Labbe wrote on her Facebook post that included the clip of the students a cappela rendition.
Turns out Bremen choral students have been practicing Mary, Did You Know? for their upcoming Christmas program, WSB-TV reported, and decided that firing up a rendition during a tornado wasnt a half bad idea.
Whats more, the Christian artist who wrote the songs lyrics Mark Lowry is scheduled to be in Bremen at Mill Town Music Hall next week, WSB said, adding that Mill Town arranged for Lowry to meet the choral students before they attend his show there next Friday night.
With their video heading into viral territory (146K views as of Thursday morning), they should have quite a bit to chat about.
