Trump will not attend the White House correspondents" dinner
Questions about whether the dinner - an annual gathering of journalists and the people they cover, typically headlined by the sitting president - was appropriate had already existed before Trump took office. Since his inauguration and his increasingly fraught relationship with the press, however, calls to boycott the annual event have grown louder.
Liberal comedian Samantha Bee announced in January that she was planning an alternative event on the same night for "journalists and non-irritating celebrities from around the world." (Its tentative name: "Not the white house correspondents" dinner."
Teresa Palmer has taken to her Your Zen Mama blog this week to encourage other women to embrace their mum bodies after giving birth.
The mother of two says women should celebrate their, "sagging b*****s, mum bums, cellulite, muffin tops, wobbly arms, thick thighs" not "punish themselves" for them.
"Isn"t it funny how easily we can forget to take a moment to celebrate our bodies!?" the Aussie actress began.

Self love: Teresa Palmer has taken to her Your Zen Mama blog this week to encourage other women to embrace their mum bodies after giving birth
"We spend far too much time punishing ourselves over what we see as our sagging b*****s, mum bums, cellulite, muffin tops, wobbly arms, thick thighs," she adds.
"In fact, take a moment right now to give your body thanks for creating life and nurturing that life," the blonde encouraged.
The 30-year-old also described recently getting back into her work out routine after the birth of her ten week old son, Forest Sage.
"Next week after the Oscars weekend I"m going to go to the gym! I just joined a new gym which has a child care," the Lights Out star told her readers.
She writes:"We spend far too much time punishing ourselves over what we see as our sagging b*****s, mum bums, cellulite, muffin tops, wobbly arms, thick thighs"
"Forest is now old enough to go for an hour at a time so my plan is to do a class there about 3 times a week," she writes.
Teresa also detailed "moving her body" five times a week which also includes a yoga class and a hike.
She told Kyle and Jackie Olast year that she "really packed it on" during her second pregnancy but wasn"t worried as she planned to have six kids.
Family time:Teresa is married to Mark Webber and they have a two sons, three-year-old son Bodhi Rain and newborn son Forest Sage
"Six is my number!" she said enthusiastically. "It truly is. My husband is down (with it). He"s like, "Why not?""

Theres this basketball move called the nutmeg, where you throw a pass through the opponents leg for the assist. Nate Robinson took that to a new level on Saturday night. Robinson didnt just pass through Walter Tavares legs in a D-League game, he dribbled straight through.
Thats a 5-foot-9 guard going through the legs of a 7-3 center. props to robinson for his innovation. It makes you wonder if he went into the game expecting to do that, if he has thought about it and was just waiting for the right opportunity, if he saw Tavares stance in-game and saw an opportunity, or if it was just one of those spur-of-the-moment things.
Either way, pretty genius.
Robinsons looking for a way back into the league after being waived by the Nuggets last year. And apparently that way is through Tavares legs. The question you have is if Isaiah Thomas, also 5-9, will pull this off next.
Exclusive Interview Did Afrika Bambaataa Molested Ronald Savage? Why baseball means so much for Tahquitz High senior
Tahquitz High School senior Clayton Ellis, left, credits head coach Ron Savage with teaching him life lessons alongside the sport of baseball.
DIANE A. RHODES, CONTRIBUTING PHOTOGRAPHER
INLAND PEOPLE
CLAYTON ELLIS
Age: 17
Residence: Hemet
Notable: He finds mentorship and life lessons through the sport of baseball and his head coach. Tahquitz"s first game is Monday, Feb. 27, in Hemet.
Senior Clayton Ellis" love of Tahquitz High"s baseball program extends beyond the game.
clayton"s coach, ron savage, has not only taught him life lessons and pushed him academically, he"s also served as a father figure.
So says Clayton"s father, U.S. Marine Brandon Ellis, who says Savage also serves as a mentor. Brandon enlisted 24 years ago and has been deployed seven times, ranging in length from 7 to 11 months.
What makes him more than a coach is he doesn"t just teach us about the game of baseball or to become a better baseball player," said Clayton Ellis. "He teaches us about how to become a better person and shows us the importance of life and to not take anything for granted.
What sets him apart from the other coaches Ive had is how much time I spend with him; most of the time I see him five days out of the week ranging from an hour to five hours each day, Clayton continued.
Clayton started playing baseball when he was 4 years old and has been a varsity team starter for three years.
Last year, Clayton Ellis stepped into a leadership role because he felt his sophomore season hadnt been the best it could be.
So, my junior year I wanted to become a guy everyone can look up to and be a role model. Letting them know if they needed any help Im always there, said the third baseman.
He wants to continue playing after he graduates and said Savage has helped him be ready for what college baseball will be like.
Savage has been head coach at Tahquitz for the past 10 years and said from August through January the players are on the field five days a week and in the weight room three days a week.
Savage said Claytons even temperament and his work ethic caught his attention.
In baseball, we talk about staying off an emotional roller coaster and not letting your highs get too high or your lows get too low. In the three years I have coached him Clayton has maintained that composure, Savage said. Work ethic wise, he really cares about doing things the right way.
Clayton, it seems, has been listening.
Baseball is my favorite sport but its more than just a sport to me," Clayton said. "It taught me about having a better internal dialogue, how what I say to myself controls every action in my life.
Savage added that coaches need to be aware that players might need a little more emotional support if their dad is not constantly there.
What these players want, whether there is a dad present or not, is to know you care and that you will be there for them. When there is an absent father I believe the connection is greater but I don"t think I necessarily need to do anything different, Savage said. At the end of the day, Im responsible for all 32 kids.
Clayton wants to follow in his dads footsteps and join the military.
I want to go into the Navy to become a Navy SEAL. Theres nothing else I can see myself doing, he said.
C-SPAN: Seth Meyers remarks at the 2011 White House Correspondents" Dinner
Over time, the White House Correspondents" Dinner has become a yearly tradition, the likes of George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Bill Clinton sitting through comedic routines poking fun at them.
It has, of course, always been in the spirit of good will and fun, even if the host and President were at opposite ends of the political spectrum (see Stephen Colbert performing at Bushs 2006 dinner).
However, President Donald J. Trump has revealed he will not be attending the Correspondents" Dinner on the 29 April, with no explanation given.
Social media users were quick to mock the controversial President, many of who - including Zach Braff of Scrubs fame - suggested Alec Baldwin attend the ceremony in his place.
Baldwin has, over the last few weeks, been impersonating Trump on Saturday Night Live, the performance garnering rave reviews around the world.
The esteemed actor has yet to comment on the situation. Fingers crossed he will either attend the real Correspondents" Dinner, or perhaps Samantha Bees alternative event on the same day.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. By all appearances another Speedweeks romp was on, with Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth and Daniel Suarez again putting their own self-interests aside for the greater good of the organization in last weeks exhibition The Clash. Just as what occurred a year ago in the daytona 500 when toyota-backed drivers worked together and led 156 of 200 laps to ensure the manufacturer won for the first time in NASCARs biggest race.
For an extended period of time during the Clash, Hamlin, Busch, Kenseth and Suarez held the top four positions. Such was their stranglehold up front, it appeared to be a foregone conclusion the teammates dictate the outcome amongst themselves.
But as the Toyota quartet ran nose-to-tail, Team Penskes Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano finally linked up their Fords and went to work on escaping the middle of the pack where they were currently mired. With Keselowski leading and Logano pushing, the two incrementally picked off one position at a time executing a well-crafted strategy to counteract the Toyotas teamwork.
The Penske plan, if you will, fit the strong suits for each driver.
A thinker, whos good at anticipating whats going to happen in advance, Keselowski is tasked with taking the point. That way he can determine where to run on the track, to find and exploit the holes in the aerodynamic draft and how to best breakup drafting partners like the pack Hamlin, Busch, Kenseth and Suarez formed. Keselowski refers to this as island hopping, a term the military history buff incorporated from how Allied forces defeated Japan in World War IIs Pacific Theater.
Loganos role is follow Keselowski and bump and push his teammate as they move forward. The efforts by Logano provide the needed momentum to build enough of a run where they can maneuver around other cars as Keselowski sees fit.
Brad is probably the best at doing that leapfrog, Logano said. Hes really good at that, probably better than anybody at it. I feel like my strength is being a very aggressive, strong pusher and able to use runs quick.
The tenets of restrictor-plate racing have long been that success at Daytona and Talladega Superspeedway largely centered on luck. To finish well or win, drivers needed fortuitous circumstances to avoid the multi-car wrecks that frequently occur.
Tired of feeling as if they were at the mercy of forces outside their control, the Penske camp developed a game plan placing an emphasis on skill. From that came the island hopping strategy thats become the backbone of Keselowski and Logano combining to win six of the past nine restrictor-plate races.
You have to take one island at a time, destroy it, move to the next one until you get to the main prize, which is first, Keselowski said. And that takes a very specific set of tactics. You have to do everything just right. You have to have a good horse underneath you. You have to have good people working with you.
Penskes synchronization and Toyotas unselfishness is expected to be prevalent throughout the Daytona 500 (2:30 p.m. ET, Fox). Together Keselowski and Logano form the best restrictor-plate tag since the heyday of Dale Earnhardt Inc., while the Toyota drivers understand their best chance is by tightly lining up and feverishly blocking any charge Keselowski and Logano mount.
And according to Hamlin, Toyota is also devising a secondary plan than what was used in last years Daytona 500, which saw Hamlin beat manufacturer-teammate Martin Truex Jr. by .010 seconds -- the closest finish ever in the 58-year history of The Great American Race.
We have an alternate plan, Hamlin. The same ideas are not going to continue to work over and over. You have to come up with something new, something to keep them off guard.
Not just Penske, but there are going to be many other contenders in the mix of it that are not just going to allow us to go out there and lead all the laps. We got to be ready for it. We got to come up with a new plan. That"s what our job is to do.
Of course, plans can and often do change in the Daytona 500, a race frequently won not by outright speed but by those who can best adapt.
In Thursdays Can-Am Duels, Hamlin was pushed to the win not by a fellow Toyota, but by Austin Dillons Chevrolet. And in the second qualifying race, among the drivers Chevrolets Chase Elliott surprisingly held off was Keselowski.
No Longer is restrictor-plate racing about outright speed, its now a game of chess at 200 mph.
The game has changed a lot, Logano said. And, to be honest, I think the Gibbs cars have changed the game more than anything. The only way you pass them is youve got to have a team thats stronger thats able to pick them apart one at a time and thats what we were able to do.
