Singer Michael Bubl revealed Friday that his 3-year-old son, Noah, has cancer.

The singer broke the news on his Facebook page, where he issued a joint statement with his wife, Argentine model and actress Luisana Lopilato.

We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US, Bubl said. We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children.

The Canadian singer did not reveal what kind of cancer his son has. He and his wife also have a younger son, Elias, who was born in January.

Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well, the singer continued. At this difficult time, we ask only for your prayers and respect for our privacy. We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, G*d willing.

Childhood cancers make up less than 1 percent of all cancers diagnosed each year, according to the American Cancer Society. After accidents, cancer is the second leading cause of death in children aged 1 to 14. About 1,250 children younger than 15 years old are expected to die from cancer in 2016.
