Adam Lambert Opens Up About 3rd Studio Album

Transcript for Adam Lambert Opens Up About 3rd Studio Album

Didn't you love "Ghost town"? Wasn't that -- Thank you. Thank you. Thanks. Third album. Yeah. "The original high" and it's all about chasing that first. We all seem to do. That thing that makes us happy and alive. Yeah, whatever that is to you. Right. Yeah. So tell us -- we'll leave it at that. We'll leave it -- we'll so leave it at that. I was telling you this, you're fabulous -- You're fabulous. No, really. So talented and I love this is a little more intimate. It is, it is. I wanted to pull people in, yeah, I wanted to get the listener and make them feel like I was singing in your ear a little bit. Isn't it about getting more and more comfortable in your own skin. It is and being an artist, you know, I'm doing this for six years. "Idol" was this crazy experience, such an adventure and coming off it, it's been an up and down side-to-side journey and typing a new groove. Yes, he is.

Adam Lambert Recreates His American Idol Audition Five Years Later for ...

Same voice, better clothes! Adam Lambert recreated his original American Idol audition from 2009 while guest-judging on the FOX show on Thursday, Jan. 15. Lambert was pressured by judge Harry Connick Jr. to walk down memory lane, which led Lambert to sing Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" all over again.

"I gotta get something off my chest. Since Adam has been here it's been so amazing. I cannot stop thinking about what you must be thinking sitting behind this desk because you're the only person who's done this on both sides. It's been crazy. You're doing such an amazing job as a judge," Connick Jr. said to Lambert.

"I feel like I've missed an opportunity as a judge to hear you audition," he continued. "I would kill if you would audition for us."

Lambert, 32, appeared nervous at first, even mumbling an "Oh Lord" in response to the request. After some encouragement, however, he got up and pretended to stand outside before making his entrance. Despite the suit change (he wore just jeans and a zip-up hoodie during his 2009 audition), Lambert's performance was just as smooth and impressive as the first time around.

"You made me nervous!" he later told Connick Jr. "Its nerve-wrecking with no music and no warmup."

Lambert became a household name after placing second in the eighth season of the FOX singing competition, losing out to Kris Allen. At the time, he auditioned in front of Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson, and Kara DioGuardi. He has since guest starred on Glee, released two studio albums, one live album, and is best known for hits such as "Whataya Want From Me" and "For Your Entertainment."
