NBA All-Star 2017 voting leaders: Early results revealed

Could The 2017 NBA East All-Star Starters go 82-0?

The typical names are there, but there are a few surprises for the 2017 All-Star game as well.

NBA fans are having fun tweeting in their NBA All-Star votes, and now they get to see who is where as the league offeredthe first voting results of the season Thursday.

Takeaways

1. LeBron James is the top overall vote getter, which shouldn"t be surprising as the veteran is having yet another successful season with the Cavs. But he should be recognized as long as the votingremains the same since he"s on a pace totie Kobe Bryant and Karl Malone for most times chosen anAll-Starstarter (11).

2.ZazaPachulia has the eighth-most All-Star votes despite averaging 5.2 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game for the Warriors. This happened last year as well because the country ofGeorgia flooded the voting system for Pachulia, and he loved it.

"Words can"t describe how happy I"m feeling with the love I"m feeling from the fans, from the Mavsfans and my people in Georgia," he said last year.

3.GiannisAntetokounmpo andJoel Embiid appear well on their way to earning their fist All-Star nominations. Kemba Walker andKristaps Porzingis would also have their first All-Star appearances if they keep up at this pace.

Notes

It"s worth mentioning that the fan vote will account for only 50 percent of the overall vote this year. The league changed the ruleso that NBA players and basketball executiveswill account for 25 percent each towardthe vote.

That process will begin next week, with each participant completing one full ballot featuring two guards and three frontcourt players from both conferences.
