Pokmon Sun and Moon Is Getting A Bracelet Peripheral

All New Alolan Pokemon, Kahunas, Island Trials Analysis! - Pokemon Sun & Moon

Its called the Z Ring, and its supposed to be worn while playing Sun and Moon.

Japanese toy-maker Takara Tomy is releasing the kiddy-friendly peripheral. Children wear the bracelet, which blinks, makes noise and vibrates when characters do in-game Z-moves that can be unleashed only once per battle.

There are 18 different Z Ring crystals kids can collect, and they all seem to correspond to a different Z-move.

The Z Ring is priced at 2,600 yen (US$25.60) and comes with one Z Crystal. Each set of Z Crystals is 599 yen ($5.90) and comes with three different crystals. There is a special bundle that includes the Z Ring and six Z Crystals for 4,490 yen ($44.19).

This seems like its taking a page from Yokai Watchs business playbook, but will likely be the hot toy will it launches in Japan on November 18 when Sun and Moon are released. No word yet on an international release.

August 2 5:21am Update: Sun and Moons international site also lists the Z Ring, so expect a worldwide release.

Nintendo E3 2016: Pokemon Sun and Moon, Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest streams confirmed

Pokémon Sun and Moon Legendaries! • Names, Types, Moves REVEALED! • [June 2nd 2016]

Nintendo has changed its mind about whats on show at E3 2016.

The Legend of Zelda wont be the only thing Nintendo shows to the public to celebrate E3 2016.

Having previously said it was skipping the traditional E3 Nintendo Presents in favour of a show devoted purely to The Legend of Zelda Wii U, the platform holder has announced a series of livestreamed presentations focused on other titles.

Heres the schedule:

  • June 14: stream starts 9:00am PTPokemon Sun and Moon in action, The Legend of Zelda world premiere, Nintendo Treehouse Live.
  • June 15: stream starts at 10:00am PTPokemon GO developer Q&A session, Nintendo Treehouse Live including Monster Hunter Generations, Dragon Quest 7: Fragments of the Forgotten Past, and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE

There may be a few surprises, too, as Nintendo seems pretty keen on short PR cycles nowadays and is so unpredictable that we never dare to guess what it might suddenly burst out with. Did anybody expect it to start selling Amiibo? And yet here we are, knee-deep in them.

Dont expect anything earth-shattering, though. Nintendo has said repeatedly that the NX will not be on show. We expect it to be detailed later in the year ahead of a first-half 2017 launch.

If youre planning your viewing schedule or looking for clues on what well see from this years show, our E3 2016 info hub has everything you need to know.

As previously announced, Sun and Moon will offer traditional and simplified Chinese as language options, which is a first for the series. Both games will also come with Pokemon Bank support, allowing players to move Pokemon wirelessly from the classic Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow, as well as more recent Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, X and Y, to Sun and Moon. Further details on how this works are available here.

February 27 was the 20th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise"s debut in Japan in 1996. To celebrate, Nintendo hosted a 24-hour animation livestream event on Twitch, along with releasing classic Pokemon games Red, Blue and Yellow for the 3DS eShop.

The last brand-new Pokemon games in the series for 3DS were Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, which came out in November 2014.

Nintendo cuts forecasts as 3DS sales fall short

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon Arrive in Late 2016!
The company has now missed its forecasts on the low side for the last four years. To be fair, that"s often down to its home yen currency being too strong, making its products more expensive in North America and elsewhere. But it also means that the company is seeing its market size, and the products themselves, through Mario-tinted lenses. With the revised forecast, the company estimates net profits next year to be 17 billion yen, or $150 million. However, Nintendo does have a few things up its sleeve, including a new mobile game platform, Pokmon 3DS bundle, remastered Pokmon movies, and reportedly, new Pokmon Sun and Moon games. Oh, and at some point, a brand new console.
