NFL Mock Draft 2017: How far will Reuben Foster, Jabrill Peppers slide? | What do Jets, Giants, Eagles do?

Jabrill Peppers Tested Positive For Diluted Sample At NFL Combine | SI Wire | Sports Illustrated

Michigan"s Jabrill Peppers and Alabama"s Reuben Foster are two of the better players in the 2017 NFL Draft. Foster, of course, is arguably the best linebacker available, while Peppers -- a hybrid safety/cornerback -- an elite-level playmaker.

And now there"s a chance neither goes in the first round.

both peppers and Foster failed drug tests (diluted urine sample) at the NFL Combine. Their draft stock will undoubtedly be impacted, but how much? Could either player fall out of the first round?

Check out NJ.com"s latest mock draft to find out.

Here are a few other observations from our latest mock draft:

Jetsgoing quarterback? The Jets have done a ton of homework on just about every passer in this year"s draft, especially Clemson"s Deshaun Watson, and UNC"s Mitch Trubisky. Jets representativeswere at each player"s pro day, worked them out privately, and hosted both for pre-draft visits. Is either in play at No. 6? Will the Jets trade back?

Eaglesgetting defensive. When the Eagles signed Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith,it alleviated a bit of the need for a receiver. Philly still has a massive hole at cornerback, though. Could one of the top defenders in this year"s class fall to them at pick 14?

Giantswaitfor Eli Manning"s replacement?Jerry Reese first hinted at the Giants finding Manning"s replacement during his post-season press conference. Depending on how things shape out in the draft, Texas Tech"s Pat Mahomes or Notre Dame"s DeShone Kizer could be there for the Giantsat pick No. 23. Would they pull the trigger, or go with a player who could help this season (linebacker, defensive end, tight end)?

Report: Jabrill Peppers tested positive for diluted sample

Get to Know: Jabrill Peppers (Michigan, Safety) | 2017 NFL Draft

According to ESPN"s Adam Schefter, Michigan"s Jabrill Peppers tested positive for a diluted urine sample at the NFL Combine.

NFL notified teams that Michigans Jabril Peppers tested positive for a dilute sample at the combine, league sources tell ESPN.

A Creative Arts Agency spokesperson put out the following statement on their client:

"Peppers went to the combine. He was sick after flying there from San Diego. He has a history of cramping. Peppers was being pumped with fluids, drinking 8-10 bottles of water before he went to bed, because he was the first guy to work out two days for the LBs and DBs. He had to go through that first day, come back on second day, and that was the fear. so peppers was pounding water and under the weather. He never failed a drug test in his life, nor tested positive before for any substance."

This news is probably nothing new to NFL teams, who usually learn of these tests well before the public, but it could change opinions on Peppers who is expected to be a late first-round or early second-round selection come this weekend"s draft.
