Young Platinum Poses as Bob Ezrin, Responds to Kanye West"s Twitter Rant

Don"t Ever Critique Kanye West, Just Ask Music Producer Bob Ezrin

Please, Yeez! After Kanye West went on another Twitter rant late Tuesday, February 23, artistYoung Platinumtook to his verified Twitter page and posed as rock producer Bob Ezrin.

The situation started when Ezrin, 66, issued some scathing commentary about West"s new album, The Life of Pablo, in Bob Lefsetz"s newsletter. "Kanye"s greatest achievements have been in the form of excessive behavior, egomaniacal tantrums and tasteless grandstanding," Ezrin blasted to his readers. "Maybe I lament for a world where being truly, world-shakingly excellent at anything at least in the field of popular music if not elsewhere is no longer absolutely necessary . . . You can be a star today just by creating a public life that people pay attention to. Thats it."

And word got back to Yeezy. "Has anybody ever heard of Bob Ezrin? What the f--k does he know about rap..." West tweeted of the producer, who"s worked with Phish, Pink Floyd, Kiss and Lou Reed. "Please dont speak on me bro ever again! Your kids are ashamed of their dad..." West, 38, later acknowledged his mistake for bringing up Ezrin"s family, but added: "Could you imagine if you were Bob Ezrins kids... Im so sorry for them... I will send them free Yeezys to make up for the embarrassment that you have caused your family!"

Naturally, Ezrin"s Wikipedia page and Google searches immediately blew up but Young Platinum had some responses of his own. The artist took to his verified Twitter account under the guise of Ezrin and updated his birthdate, profile picture and bio to dupe fans. He then blasted a series of tweets pretending to be Ezrin.

Meanwhile, multiple sources tell Us Weekly in the new issue that West"s wife, Kim Kardashian, is not pleased with her husband"s recent Twitter rants and wants him to seek professional help. "She and Kanye are having big problems that are escalating," one source tells Us. "Kim has demanded that Kanye get therapy."

UPDATE: An earlier version of this story said it was Bob Ezrin"s Twitter account, but a rep for Twitter confirmed to Us Weekly that the rock producer is not on the social media platform. Young Platinum was simply posing as Ezrin.

Kanye West Is Not Happy With Rock Producer Bob Ezrin

Music Matters 2012 Keynote Interview: Bob Ezrin

Ezrin, the man behind classic rock albums from Pink Floyd, Lou Reed, and Kiss, made the comments that riled West in a post for music analyst Bob Lefsetz"s site Lefsetz Letter. The piece focused on West"s "tasteless grandstanding," accusing the 21-time Grammy Award recipient of being "like that flasher who interrupts a critical game by running n***d across the field," stating that: "unlike other creators in his genre like Jay-Z, Tupac, Biggie or even M.C. Hammer for that matter, its unlikely that well be quoting too many of Kanyes songs 20 years from now."

Kanye appeared particularly galled by Ezrin"s claim that Macklemore was more musically significant than him, directly addressing the quote before adding "no offense to Macklemore, he"s a nice human being!" Although the original site is currently down, the cached version of Ezrin"s letter is available in full here.

Bob Ezrin Pens Scathing Critique Of Kanye West

Kanye West "SLAMS" Producer Bob Ezrin In Twitter Rant After He Criticised The Life of Pablo

Bob Ezrin has penned a scathing critique of Kanye West.

The music producer and keyboardist, known for his work with Lou Reed, Alice Cooper, Kiss, Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel and Phish, writes in a post for Bob Lefsetz"sthe Lefsetz Lettertoday (February 22) that West has made some great material, but that he isnt on the creative level of some other prominent artists.

Unlike other creators in his genre like Jay-Z, Tupac, Biggie or even M.C. Hammer for that matter, its unlikely that well be quoting too many of Kanyes songs 20 years from now,Ezrin writes in the newsletter, which has tens of thousands of subscribers. "He didnt open up new avenues of public discourse like NWA, or introduce the world to a new art form like Grandmaster Flash, or even meaningfully and memorably address social issues through his music like Marshall, Macklemore and Kendrick.

Ezrinwrites that West isnt on the same producing level as Timbaland and Rick Rubin and that his songwritingis sophomoric at best.

Wests most notable achievements arent musical, Ezrin writes.

"Instead Kanyes greatest achievements have been in the form of excessive behavior, egomaniacal tantrums and tasteless grandstanding, Ezrin writes. "What he is a true artist at is living his life out loud and shoving it down the throats of the rest of us whether we give a s**t or not. Hes like that flasher who interrupts a critical game by running n***d across the field. Is that art???

These comments lead intoEzrin examining blasting the rollout of Wests The Life Of Pablo album, which may or may not be complete, despite it being premiered at the "Yeezy Season 3" fashion show earlier this month and being subsequently released as a stream on TIDAL. Ezrin says hes yet to listen to the project and puts a qualifier on his self-proclaimed rant against West.

"I lament for a world where being truly, world-shakingly excellent at anything at least in the field of popular music if not elsewhere is no longer absolutely necessary, Ezrin writes. "You can be a star today just by creating a public life that people pay attention to. Thats it. All you have to do is be interesting or likable or shocking enough and you can have your 15 minutes of fameeven if that means that no one will remember you or what youve done in just a few years. Line em up. How many popular artists have come and gone in just the last decades. In my mind (which is a pretty busy as often too judgmental place, I will admit) real artists make stuff that changes the world and LASTS.

"I havent heard it yet, he adds. "Is that what The Life of Pablo is? If so, then I take it all back."
