Put your boxing gloves away, people. Sylvester Stallone didn"t exactlyforget to thank Ryan Coogler he just spaced there for a moment. (Maybeit was all thosepunches to the head?)

I am the sum total of everyone Ive ever met, and so lucky Ive absorbed some of this, the Creed actor said during his acceptance speechfor bestsupporting actor in a motion picture.

Stallone concluded the speechby paying homage to Rocky Balboa himself:"Most of all, I want to thank my imaginary friend Rocky Balboa for being the best friend Ive ever had."

And cue music as well as shadefrom directorAva DuVernay and other social media usersforthe ostensible omission.

But, as it turns out, Stallone did thank Coogler. You just couldn"t hear him over the sound of his 30 seconds being up.

"Did I say Ryan Coogler?" he said, running back to the microphone after the camera cut away. "You are a brilliant filmmaker."

The actor also thanked Michael B. Jordan as the show went to commercial.

Golden Globes 2016 updates: "The Revenant," "Mr. Robot" and underdogs win big

Ricky Gervais Slams Caitlyn Jenner in Golden Globes Monologue

"Steve Jobs" actress Kate Winslet accepts her Golden Globe for supporting actress in a film - drama at the 73rd Golden Globes at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.(Allen J. Schaben / Los Angeles Times)

In Danny Boyles Steve Jobs, Kate Winslet took everything in stride as Joanna Hoffman, Steve Jobs" Polish Armenian marketing matriarch at Apple. She navigated product launches, technological innovation and Jobs" erratic personality with a cool head. But in real life, backstage at the Golden Globes after accepting her award for supporting actress on Sunday, the British actress was far more emotional.

"I really am so shocked right now, so shocked," she said. "I never expected it, never, ever. Standing here I keep thinking this is not happening; I honestly, truthfully did not expect this at all -- and I am so thrilled."

When the 11-time Golden Globe nominee, who"s won three times, was asked to elaborate on what she"d started saying at the podium about women in film, while accepting her award, she said: "Women are doing such great work; there are a lot of out there still in the game I"ve been doing this 23 years now, Helen Mirren, Jane Fonda, these wonderful women we"re so fortunate to stand beside and learn from. And to be inspired by. There"s a real sense of girl power this year in terms of performance. And it"s just incredible to be a part of that."

About the challenges that she"s most proud of when filming the movie, she it was throwing herself out of her comfort zone.

"When I first read the script I couldn"t imagine how it would be possible to pull off something of that size it"s like 170 pages long. I just knew this was a woman nothing like me, looked nothing like me, was from a world I knew nothing about; and I just wanted that challenge."

Will she go out and party now, tonight?

"I have this I neck problem," she said. "I booked a massage for 9pm which I may have to cancel so I don"t know how much partying I"ll actually get to do!"

Golden Globes: Brie Larson wins best actress in a drama film for "Room"

Brie Larson Jumped Out a Window at a College Party

Inaccepting the Golden Globe for best actress, drama, for the movie "Room," Brie Larson displayed just the kind of sideways, off-the-cuff charm that has propelled her through this awards season.

On a night when making jokes at the expense of the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. and the meaning/relevance of the Golden Globes seemed something of a mandate, Larson found an original way to address the notoriously eccentric voting body.

"It"s been such a pleasure getting to know you, you"re such an incredible bunch of people!" Larson said with a seeming lack of guile.

In "Room," Larson plays a young woman kidnapped and held for years in her captor"s backyard shed. Her character has to deal with the trauma of her situation while struggling to protect the young son she bears while imprisoned, in the film written by Emma Donoghue from her novel of the same name and directed by Lenny Abrahamson.

This was Larsons first Golden Globe nomination.

"This movie means so much to me," Larson said onstage. As music began to play her off, she said, "I can"t believe this. I"m sorry to anyone I forgot. I"ll write you a thank you card."

The other nominees in the category were a mix of Globe favorites and new faces.

Cate Blanchett was nominated for her role in the romantic period drama "Carol." This was Blanchetts ninth Globe nomination. She won best actress in a drama for Elizabeth and Blue Jasmine andsupporting actress for Im Not There, in which she played a young Bob Dylan for Carol director Todd Haynes.

Rooney Mara was also nominated from "Carol," as the youngshop girl who falls into aromantic entanglement with Blanchett"s wealthy socialite. Though Mara wasinitially submitted to beconsidered in the supporting actress category, the HFPA placed her in lead. This was Maras second Globe nomination. She was previouslyrecognized for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

Alicia Vikander also wasinitially submitted in the supporting category for her performance in "The Danish Girl." Ultimately, she was nominated in both the lead actress category for her role as artist Gerda Wegener in The Danish Girl and in the supportingactress category for her role as asentient robot in Ex Machina. They were her first Golden Globe nominations.

Saoirse Ronan was nominated for her performance in "Brooklyn," as a young woman in the 1950s who leaves her small Irish town to head to New York City on her own. Manchester City "join Real Madrid in race to sign Chelsea star Eden Hazard"

Real Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano 10-2 All Goals 20-12-2015

Eden Hazard has reportedly emerged as a shock target for Manchester City.

The Sun on Sunday claims City will bid for the 25-year-old if he decides to to leave Chelsea this summer.

Real Madrid are his number one suitors with new boss Zinedine Zidane a known admirer and Cristiano Ronaldo edging closer to the Bernabeu exit door.

Rumours are rife Portugal skipper Ronaldo will leave Los Blancos at the end of the season to join PSG, despite Zidane"s insistence that he won"t be sold.

Replacement: Eden Hazard could take Cristiano Ronaldo"s place in Real Madrid"s team

If Ronaldo does leave, Madrid are expected to turn their attention to Chelsea and Belgium winger Hazard.

However, City are reportedly unwilling to let Hazard go to Spain without a fight and are said to be weighing up an 80million bid.

Hazards international teammates Vincent Kompany and Kevin De Bruyne are already settled at the Etihad and could play a key role in trying to persuade him to join them in the North West.

Hazard scored 19 goals last season and won numerous individual accolades as Chelsea won the Premier League and Capital One Cup, but the former Lille man is yet to find the net in 27 appearances for the Blues this season.

Sioux Falls to continue football amid health concerns

Slip "N Slide Football Battle | Dude Perfect

High school football isn"t going away in Sioux Falls, despite recent concerns from two Minnesota doctors about the game"s effect on children and teens.

Links between football and life-threatening head trauma has forced rule changes at the highest level of the sport. The topic has drawn national and regional attention, with a million-dollar ruling for an Iowa high school student last year and last month"s release of "Concussion," starring Will Smith.

Now, Minnesota-based physicians have penned an editorial calling for the end of tackle football programs at public schools. But Sioux Falls high schools won"t be slashing football just yet, as rules continue to evolve for the sake of player safety, Superintendent Brian Maher said.

"My answer would be, today, we"re certainly not ready to pull the plug on that," Maher told the Argus Leader (http://argusne.ws/1ITp9GD ).

The editorial authored by Dr. Steven Miles and Dr. Shailendra Prasad was set to run this month in the American Journal of Bioethics, and is already available online at www.bioethics.net.

Miles and Prasad criticized a recent article from the American Academy of Pediatrics, which acknowledges the increased likelihood of concussion among youth football players, but suggests schools address the problem by enforcing safety rules, decreasing tackling and following best practices.

The doctors" response: "Public schools should end their football programs because of the high prevalence of concussions."

Between 5 percent and 20 percent of student athletes in football will suffer a concussion in a single season, according to Miles and Prasad. Middle school-age students will sustain about 240 head impacts each season. The number soars to 650 per season for high school players.

Brain injuries caused by playing football can lead to poor performance in class for weeks following the incident, as well as headaches, absenteeism and memory problems, according to research highlighted by the doctors.

"Evidence about the effect of youth football is evolving but is sufficient to show that school football is likely to adversely (affect) school performance in the short term," they wrote.

Research is limited when it comes to the long-term effects, said Dr. Verle Valentine, a sports medicine physician for Sanford Health.

He questioned the Minnesota doctors" proposal of banning the sport from public schools.

"Certainly there"s lots of injuries in football, but there"s also lots of injuries in other sports, too," Valentine said. "The vast majority of patients who have concussions recover nicely in a few weeks."

Problems that caught the National Football League and inspired a Hollywood film came from studies done of former NFL players, who played the game into their 30s, Valentine said.

Chronic traumatic encephalopathy or CTE is the focus of "Concussion," about the Pittsburgh doctor who discovered the condition while analyzing the brain of a dead player.

Repeated concussions caused by head injuries can lead to damaged nerve cells in the brain, which can cause changes in emotion and behavior later in life.

In addition to being the Sioux Falls public schools chief, Maher sits on the state"s high school activities association. His son plays professional football.

Rule changes implemented by the NFL in the wake of CTE have trickled down to public school teams, Maher said.

Maher believes the sport is important to students because of the kind of learning that can happen in athletics, including teamwork, sacrifice and time management.

"One of the quotes I gave to my kids growing up was if you don"t take life lessons away from the activities you"re involved in, you"re simply engaged in recess," Maher said.
