Every year on International Women"s Day Twitter fills up with angry men annoyed that there is no International Men"s Day.

Comedian Richard Herring has been VERY busy on Twitter pointing this out.
He"s responding to every tweet he can find on the matter - and gently, factually putting them right.

The Eagles wasted no timefiring Chip Kelly, and now theyre quickly dismantling the roster he assembled. Having axed the coach in December with a week still to go in the regular season Philadelphia spent Monday, the first day of the NFLs legal tampering window, wheeling and dealing.
The Eagles reportedly agreed to a pair of trades, one of which sends linebacker Kiko Alonso and cornerback Byron Maxwell to the Miami Dolphins, and the second of which will shiprunning back DeMarco Murray to the Tennessee Titans (trades can be completed when the NFLs new year officially begins on Wednesday afternoon). All three players were acquired by Kelly, who at the time had won a power struggle for control of personnel decisions last offseason.
The purging of Murray and Alonso, assuming the trades becomefinalized, are especially noteworthy because their acquisitions stemmed from a deal Kelly had made, one that sent running back LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills for the linebacker. Having dealt away his Pro Bowl back, Kelly initially signed Ryan Mathews away from the San Diego Chargers, then he more than doubled down at the position, luring Murray away from the Dallas Cowboys with a five-year, $40 million contract that included $21 million guaranteed.
Now all the Eagles have to show for the McCoy-Alonso deal is unspecified draft pick compensation (it is not yet known what the Titans have agreed to give up in exchange for Murray), anda roster that appears worse off than before Kelly began re-shaping it. The coach, who arrived in Philadelphia in 2013, received criticism for getting rid of a trio of offensive stars in McCoy and wide receivers DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin, especially ashis teams production waned after a strong start.
Murray was coming off of a massive season with the Cowboys, one in which he led the NFL with1,845 rushing yards, 13 rushing touchdowns and2,261 yards from scrimmage and won theAP Offensive Player of the Year award. But he struggled to fit into Kellys offense, gaining just702 yards rushing, with a 3.6 per-carry average, plus 322 yards receiving and seven total touchdowns.
Early in December, before Kelly was fired, rumors swirled that Murray was unhappy in Philadelphia and wanted to return to Dallas. That didnt quite happen, but the Eagles did give him permission to seek a new team, and Murrays agents were able to strike a deal with Tennessee.
Kelly gave Maxwell a huge free-agent deal worth$63 million over six years, with $25 million guaranteed. However, Maxwell struggled, and his trade is reportedly contingent on him agreeing to a revised contract with Miami.
Not every player associated with the Kelly regime is being shown the door in Philadelphia. Quarterback Sam Bradford and safety Malcolm Jenkins, who werealso brought in last offseason, were recently re-signed by the Eagles, as was offensive tackle Lane Johnson, the teams first draft pick after hiring Kelly in 2013.
On the other hand, Johnsons agent recently insisted that Howie Roseman, a veteran personnel man who survived the Kelly era, was the one who made his client the No. 4 overall pick that year. In addition, soon after Kelly was fired, Johnson himself referred to the deposed coach as a dictator.
The dictatorship, or however people want to look at it, is now over, and the Eagles are apparently intent on putting that tumultuous period far behind them. How soon they can put together a contending team is another matter, of course.

Two of Chip Kelly"s big acquisitions from a year ago are on their way out of Philadelphia.
A league source has confirmed to CSNPhilly.com"s Reuben Frank the Eagles are trading cornerback Byron Maxwell and linebacker Kiko Alonso to the Miami Dolphins, pending physicals.Trades cannot become official until the new league year begins at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
Earlier Monday afternoon,ESPN"s Adam Schefter reported the Eagles and the Dolphins were finalizing the deal, in which the Eagles would get draft pick compensation.NFL Network"sIan Rapaport first reported the Eagles were trying to trade Maxwell to the Dolphins. Rapaportthen later reported that both Maxwell and Alonso have been informed they"ve been traded to the Dolphins.
Acquiring Alonso and Maxwell were two of the key acquisitions Chip Kelly made after taking control of the personnel department. With vice president of football operations Howie Roseman back in control, the team has seemingly started to take steps to undo most of what Kelly did during his short time in control.
Maxwell, 28, signed a six-year deal worth $63 million. He has a base salary of $8.5 million in 2016, with a cap hit of $9.7 million. By trading him, the Eagles would save $4.9 million against this year"s cap; they would still have a cap hit of $4.8 million in 2016 for Maxwell.Brought to Philly from Seattle"s Legion of Boom, Maxwell struggled and didn"t live up to expectations.
Alonso, 25, came to the Eagles from the Buffalo Bills in the LeSean McCoy trade. In 2015, he was coming off an ACL surgery that forced him to miss all of 2014. Last season, he suffered an injury to the same knee and missed some time, but even when he was on the field, he was wildly ineffective.
Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz was the Bills" defensive coordinator in 2014, but that was the year Alonso missed.
While Alonso wasn"t good in 2015, he is still on his rookie deal and is cheap in 2016. He has a base salary of just $941,418 and a cap hit of $991,418 in the last year of his deal.
If the trade goes through, it would be more likely the Eagles will try to re-sign soon-to-be free agent Nolan Carroll.
Last year, Maxwell and Carroll began the season as the Eagles" starting corners. Carroll was lost for the season on Thanksgiving and rookie Eric Rowe took over for him and played well. Maxwell started 14 games for the Eagles in 2015.
International Women’s Day 2016: What are you going to make?
Today, 8th March, is International Womens Day, which is earmarked to celebratethe social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women from around the globe.
In line with celebrations, htxt.women took some time out to speak to two women who are members of a womens startup hub located in Tel Aviv, a city in Israel thats been rankedthe best startup ecosystem in the world outside the US.
We set about finding out what the benefits of working in such an environment are for female entrepreneurs, and what the rest of the world can learn from it.
What makes Tel Aviv triumph over other cities outside the US?
Tel Aviv has an amazing startup culture because of a few things in the citys DNA I think openness, a home for the creative class, talent, toleranceand most important everyone is willing to help each other, Oren explains to htxt.women.
There are plenty of mentors who want to pay it forward and share theirinsights; people love making connections between their contacts who can collaborate. It is really an amazing environment. There is an amazing culture of helping each other instead of competing, she says.
Oren adds that such a support system is also critical to helping female founders make the right connections and advance to the next level.
Challenges in Tel Aviv are just like any other around the world
Although Tel Aviv offers a great platform for startups to not only survive, but thrive, Oren says startups, particularity those owned by women are still up against many challenges others from around the world face.
Female entrepreneurs experience many of the challenges facing both genders in the industry such as struggling to obtain funding, build a strong team, make the right contacts, and stay inspired, she says.
The shortage of women in the startup ecosystemhas roots ineducationand societal expectations, and WMN helps women-led ventures advance and bridge that gap.
The WMN hub
WMN launched in May 2015 in the coastal city of Tel Aviv with a mission tosignificantly increase the number of female foundersinthe startup industry, and to bridge the gender gap in the startup ecosystem.
WMN was founded by entrepreneur Merav Oren under Agora, one of the largest tech companies in Israel, and is managed by Liron Ben Eliahu.
The hub is supported byDeloitte and the Tel-Aviv municipality
Our mission is to be a game changer, significantly increasing the number of female foundersinthe industry and bridging the gender gap in the startup ecosystem, Oren says. We do this by providing our community members with a coworking space, professional events and workshops as well as mentors and networking opportunities.
Its also amazing to see how while they are in very different markets, the startups have many shared experiences as women-led ventures.
WMN is home tomore than 20 female founders together with their startup teams, each operating in a different industry such as social networking, online dating, fintech, eCommerce, fashion and more.
A look at a couple of startups hosted at WMN
Open Restaurants
Oren also runs her own startup, called Open Restaurants which is hosted at WMN.
Founded in 2013, Open Restaurants is an online marketplace for the best culinary experiences a region has to offer.
Its an innovative easy-to-use platform, where users can discover, explore and book a vast array of unique, handpicked culinary adventures in cities aroundthe world from culinary workshops, tasting sessions and special culinary events to cooking or baking lessons, chefs andexpert-guided market tours and otheractivities.
Whenever I went to a restaurant and the waiter delivered my plate complete with color, careful design, and delicious tastes, I was curious. I am always a curious person and couldnt help but wonder what the process of creating that plate really looks like, Oren tells us about why she started Open Restaurants.
I wanted to expose people to the wonders of the culinary world and allow them a deeper, behind-the-scenes opportunity.
The startups clients consist of 80% locals and 20% tourists. The tourists are foodies who are drawn by food and lifestyle festivals, while locals include anyone who is curious to learn and experience something different.
Merav Oren
The business has really grown and this year it is going to be a huge festival in Tel Aviv. In addition to meeting restaurant chefs, which was the original concept, participants will have the chance to tour bakeries, wineries, and breweries and interact with the people who run them. They can also participate in workshops at these locations and hear food talks about culinary perspectives from many angles including journalists, designers, and entrepreneurs in this field, Oren says.
Oren also has major plans to expand Open Restaurants further this year.
I am excited to launch the venture in Amsterdam this coming November. Hopefully London will be the next stop, and then many other places throughout the globe. I am excited to open peoples eyes to culinary experiences they never had before and to build a greater appreciation for whats in front of them, she says.
TOPRO
TOPRO is an online platform built to display, connect, and support talented independent professionals worldwide. The startup maps all independent service providers, giving them more visibility and changing the way clients recommend, discover, and book the best professionals around.
The first version of the product is a collaborative tool to help closed groups/events build their list of best professionals. This tool keeps the knowledge in one place, in a trustworthy manner, 30-year-old founder Dannie Hetz tells htxt.women.
TOPRO is the second startup Hetz has founded, the first being a scheduling app named SPOT which helped clients book easily appointments with the potential employees they are interested in hiring.
After working in the independent professionals industry for tw years, I noticed an injustice taking place independent professionals are brave for building their livelihood aroun their own unique talent and passion, yet they are invisible to clients. Clients are looking for the best professionals around them via social media by asking friends Whos the best photographer/mover/nanny you know? and the answers they get disappear in the feed, so the professionals arent seen by many, Hetz explained about the inspiration behind starting TOPRO.
I think that brave people should be celebrated and highlighted, and thats my motivation.
Hetz admits that, like any other startup getting off the ground, she did have her reservations about launching TOPRO.
There are always fears when working on something new and trying to build something in the hopes of making a change. One of the biggest lessons I learned, as a startup founder, is to manage those fears and believe 100% in what we do, she says.
Working from a startup hub has also contributed to making the journey a little smoother, Hetz adds.
WMN gave our team the ability to work together in a beautiful collaborative space. We also got to know other startups who come there and encounter similar challenges. We learn a lot from interacting with the wonderful startups around us at WMN.
On working in the worlds second top destination for women entrepreneurs, Hetz says the startup scene in Tel Aviv is growing, but would love tosee a more balanced ecosystem with more women investors, CTOs, and founders of great companies.
For the future of TOPRO,Id love to see the beginning of a new movement: happy clients who take the time to appreciate and highlight those individuals who make our lives better. Independent professionals have earned the right to be visible, Id like to see them grow, she says.
Her words of wisdom from one women startup founder to another are to listen to corrective advice and to the consumer is a big lesson, but listening shouldnt make you not do something- it should simply make you make corrections in your assumptions or re-evaluate thoseassumptions.
The race is long it ends only when you choose to stop, she says.

What is the history behind Mothers Day?
The origins of Mothers Day date back to the ancient Greek times, but the way in which we celebrate it today began in America in the early 20th Century.
The ancient Greeks dedicated an annual spring festival to maternal goddesses, and ancient Romans also celebrated a spring festival called Hilaria which was for a mother goddess called Cybele.
More recent origins of Mothering Sunday date back to the 1600s in England when it was held on the fourth Sunday of Lent. Some stories say that people would return to their mother church, the church that they were baptized in or attended services in when they were children, and this would bring together communities who hadnt seen each other for a while.
By 1911, Mothers Day was celebrated in almost every US state and on May 8, 1914, President Woodrow Wilson signed a joint resolution document that confirmed every second Sunday in May as Mothers Day.
