Jaime Callica, who plays Simeon for Season 2 of Wayward Pines, is supposed to be one of those characters who will die during the premiere episode. The returning show is reportedly kicking off tonight with not just one, but two shocking deaths.
Based on spoilers circulating around the web, one of those deaths include a returning character. But because of twist of fate, it is not Callica. He will stay for a few more episodes. He could not be any happier when he learned that he is going to be one of the recurring cast members of the all-new Wayward Pines.
In an interview with Vancity Buzz, Jaime Callica revealed that he started screaming and jumping on his bed when he learned his character will not be killed off early. The original plan was to kill off Simeon, but the execs decided in the last minute that he should return after the premiere episode.
The young actor acts as one of the residents of Wayward Pines and plays as Naika Toussaints husband. Its Season 2 will not exactly follow the events of the original one, since it is going to be a fresh start.
Callica said that even the cast members do not have the idea about the twists and turns of the hit show. The writers obviously have the discretion to make whatever changes they like as they go, he said. Or apparently, he is just avoiding to get into any spoilers and he got a point in there.
Meanwhile, the shows executive producer, M. Night Shyamalan, told Entertainment Weekly that Wayward Wines will have a third season. It is going to be the last and will serve as the conclusion to the worlds last town.
Wayward Pines Season 2 will first air tonight, May 25 at 9:00 p.m. on FOX.

The San Jose Sharks won a back-and-forth Game 5 to take back the lead in a back-and-forth Western Conference Final, moving one victory away from appearing in the Stanley Cup Final.
After scoring the tying goal late in the second period, Joe Pavelski notched his 12th of the playoffs to give San Jose the lead for good just 16 seconds into the third period.
The Sharks earned a 6-3 victory on the road, in a bounce-back effort from Saturday.
Twice, the Blues grabbed the lead. Troy Brouwer gave them the advantage in the first period, showing off his baseball skills by batting the puck into the net on a rebound. Robby Fabbri gave them another lead in the second period, making Roman Polak pay for snapping on Dmitrij Jaskin along the boards.
But the Blues couldnt hold on. The Sharks scored twice on three power play opportunities and can now clinch the Western Conference on home ice in Wednesdays Game 6.
As for the Blues, will Ken Hitchcock change up his starting goaltender again? Its certainly an aspect of this series that will once again be up for debate leading up to Wednesdays game.
After Brian Elliott had backstopped the Blues through the first two rounds and started the first three games of this series, Hitchcock decided to start Jake Allen in Game 4.
Allen recorded the win Saturday, and was called upon again in Game 5 as expected, but gave up four goals on 25 shots Monday.
