PHILADELPHIA -- Simon Cowell isnt all that intimidating -- not when you line up across from angry 300-pound men for a living.
Thats what Philadelphia Eagles long snapper Jon Dorenbos does during his day job. Dorenbos, 35, has been snapping on punts and placekicks for 14 NFL seasons, the past 10 with the Eagles. Normally, he gets noticed only when something goes wrong.
But Dorenbos got noticed Tuesday night for something that went very right.
He appeared on NBCs Americas Got Talent, braving a panel of Cowell, Howie Mandel, Mel B and Heidi Klum. Dorenbos performed card tricks that had the often skeptical judges wide-eyed in wonder.
The judges werent alone. Dorenbos teammates were watching, and why not? They have seen him perform spontaneously in the locker room over the years.
Dorenbos story is as unbelievable as his magic tricks. When he was 12, his father killed his mother at the family home near Seattle. Alan Dorenbos served 11 years in prison before being released in 2006. Jon does not have a relationship with his father.
While being raised by extended family, Dorenbos found solace in learning and performing magic tricks. He never stopped, all through his college days at Texas-El Paso and NFL stops in Buffalo, Tennessee and Philadelphia. Dorenbos has a side business combining magic with motivational speeches.
The NFL stands for Not For Long, Dorenbos told the judges on Americas Got Talent.
You have to have a backup plan. This is a pretty good one.

TheStreetRatings.com Analysis: TheStreet Quant Ratings rates Tesla Motors as a sell. The company"s weaknesses can be seen in multiple areas, such as its deteriorating net income, generally high debt management risk, disappointing return on equity, weak operating cash flow and generally disappointing historical performance in the stock itself. Highlights from the ratings report include:
The company, on the basis of change in net income from the same quarter one year ago, has significantly underperformed when compared to that of the S&P 500 and the Automobiles industry. The net income has significantly decreased by 83.1% when compared to the same quarter one year ago, falling from -$154.18 million to -$282.27 million.
The debt-to-equity ratio is very high at 3.08 and currently higher than the industry average, implying increased risk associated with the management of debt levels within the company. To add to this, TSLA has a quick ratio of 0.56, this demonstrates the lack of ability of the company to cover short-term liquidity needs.
Return on equity has greatly decreased when compared to its ROE from the same quarter one year prior. This is a signal of major weakness within the corporation. Compared to other companies in the Automobiles industry and the overall market, TESLA MOTORS INC"s return on equity significantly trails that of both the industry average and the S&P 500.
Net operating cash flow has significantly decreased to -$249.61 million or 89.39% when compared to the same quarter last year. In addition, when comparing to the industry average, the firm"s growth rate is much lower.
The share price of TESLA MOTORS INC has not done very well: it is down 13.91% and has underperformed the S&P 500, in part reflecting the company"s sharply declining earnings per share when compared to the year-earlier quarter. The fact that the stock is now selling for less than others in its industry in relation to its current earnings is not reason enough to justify a buy rating at this time.

Rory McIlroy is the latest athlete to turn down a shot at Olympic glory in 2016, announcing he"ll skip the Rio Games in August over fears of the Zika virus.
The golfer released a statement on Wednesday explaining his decision. From the statement:
"After much thought and deliberation, I have decided to withdraw my name from consideration for this summer"s Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
"After speaking with those closest to me, I"ve come to realize that my health and my family"s health comes before anything else.
"Even though the risk of infection from the Zika virus is considered low, it is a risk nonetheless and a risk I am unwilling to take."
He joins the likes of Marc Leishman, Adam Scott, Vijay Singh, Charles Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen in withdrawing from the first Olympic golf event in over a century.
Plenty of high-profile athletes from other sports have also pulled out over Zika concerns, which has been linked to defects in newborn babies, and other worries.
The Olympic Council of Ireland was disappointed in his decision.
"The OCI is extremely disappointed not to be taking Rory with us to Rio. However, as we have always said, it is down to the individual and of course we respect his decision, which he has taken for personal reasons.
"Rory was set to be one of the big stars of Rio 2016, but now there is an opportunity for another Irish golfer to take up the chance to become an Olympian and participate in golf"s historic return to the Olympic Games after a 112-year absence.
"The OCI and our medical team have taken our lead from the IOC on the zika situation, as we do in all matters. They have provided us with every assurance and we have total confidence that the Games will be safe for all athletes."
McIlroy was engaged to Erica Stoll in April, a factor that could have impacted his decision. He had previously said he was monitoring the situation in Brazil and keeping his options open.

Pretty Little Liars has teased season 7 as the deadliest yet, but there was one death that was never going to happen, no matter how many hashtags the Freeform social media team created: Hanna. Last years season 6 premiere showed us a flash-forward in which the Liars, including Hanna, warn Alison of a mysterious him.
And yet the tension was still on in season 7s first outing, which began with another flash-forward of the Liars burying someone as they cried and talked about first-degree murder. The episode quickly shifted back to the present, where the PLL team (plus Mona!) get their first glimpse of the real, live Mary Drake, whom the team is sure had something to do with Hannas disappearance.
Mary heads to the police station to report a break-in at the Lost Woods Resort, which she now owns, and Toby is the first person on Team Liars to meet Jessicas twin. The rest of the team gets a text from A.D., revealing that the big bad knows Charlottes killer is not Hanna. The message ends with The bell tolls for Hanna, and the team immediately runs over to the bell tower, where it looks as though a dead Hanna has been strung up from the rafters.
After getting the body down from the ropes because misdirection is the name of the game on PLL Caleb realizes Hannas face is just a mask; underneath, the team finds a dolls head. The group then receives another text: If they dont deliver Charlottes true killer in 24 hours, Hanna will die, and for real this time. As extra motivation, A.D. sends a picture of Hanna imprisoned and looking more frightened than ever before.
The countdown clock begins and the team makes its way back to Spencers to formulate a plan. Now that everyone is working together, its likely all of their pieces will connect to find the answer they need. Their plan to figure out who killed Charlotte? Voting on pieces of paper and pulling them out of a hat. Funnily enough, they actually reach a quorum: Almost everyone thinks Ali killed her sister, with the biggest piece of potential evidence being a red jacket Ali may have worn when she killed Charlotte.
The team splits up, with Caleb, Mona, Spencer, and Toby making their way to Lost Woods, but Caleb quickly ditches his girlfriend to spy on Mary Drake with Mona. Spencer and Toby check out the decrepit motel and find a book on cyberbullying that proves Mary has all kinds of tricks up her sleeve (while simultaneously showing how perfect they are together).
Meanwhile, Emily volunteers to visit Ali and get her potential confession, but she runs into Elliott instead. He reveals Ali had a psychotic break, potentially caused by the fact that she may or may not have killed Charlotteor maybe it was caused by some evil c**p Elliott might be doing to her.
Aria and Ezra go to Alis home to look for clues and hints of Alis possibly murderous activities. And yet, they end up getting even closer while trying to escape the recently returned Elliott. (Funny how two former couples were paired up together for this detective work!) The team gets its first hint of Elliotts shady life when Aria and Ezra spot him secretly taking a bag out of a locked chest in his room. Later, the team almost catches him in his true identity when Mona overhears Mary talking to a man in a British accent at Ezras favorite pub, Snookers. But theres still plenty of time before our beloved characters discover what Ali quickly experiences at the end of the premiere: Elliott is a bad, bad man.

While tailing Mary, Mona and Caleb spot her heading to the Hastings house, where she runs into Spencer and reveals that not only did she know the Hastings family, she and Jessica didnt feel the twin/family bond. In fact, Jessica turned everyone against Mary, forcing her to leave Rosewood. (When she says leave Rosewood, does she mean forced to enter a mental institution? This show is confusing, guys!)
A pregnant Blake Lively visited Jimmy Fallon on Monday to promote her film The Shallows and joined the Tonight Show host for a spirited game of "Know It All," a $100,000 Pyramid-like game in which contestants took turns listing words that would fall under various categories.
For the first category of the game, Lively chose "Harry Potter characters," and proved knowledgeableabout J.K. Rowling"s universe. When Fallon kept choosing the main characters, she called him out and goaded him to "do better ones" and eventually bested Fallon when he challenged her on "Hedwig."
In the next round Lively got flustered with the "Spanish words" category, and after her pick of "burrito" her time ran out. The laughs increased for the "four-letter words" category. Lively tried to explain why she used five-letter word "shoot" saying, "I"m not going to swear on television!"
Lively sat down with Fallon for an interview and talked about her recent awkward experience with in-flight entertainment. "Everywhere I look, every screen is my husband in a s*x montage throughout the holidays with another woman, because everybody wants to watch Deadpool on the plane," she said, specifically calling out the sexual mashed potato scene in the film.
Lively said it"s a "cruel and unusual form of torture" and things only get better when her daughter sees Reynolds on the screen and doesn"t understand why he"s not waving back at her because she thinks it"s Facetime and not a movie.
Security forces dont appear to have gained any ground freeing up highways in Oaxaca: there are more blockades today than there were before police began efforts to dislodge them last week.
Police say more than 3,135 dissident teachers and activists with affiliated organizations are manning 18 blockades in six of the states eight regions.
In Nochixtln, where at least six people died in a violent confrontation between police and protesters yesterday, two highways remain closed despite police efforts, the Oaxaca-Puebla freeway and federal highway No. 190.
In the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, highways are closed at eight locations. The unions biggest blockade is at Canal 33 in Juchitn, where 1,500 people have congregated to stop traffic on the Trans-Isthmus Highway.
Another barricade on the same highway is manned by 120 people, also in Juchitn, and in Matas Romero.
There are two blockades in Tehuantepec, one at Campo Rojo and another at Caracol.
Federal highway No. 190 has been closed at Jalapa del Marqus and Ciudad Ixtepec while more protesters have blocked the Salina Cruz-Coatzacoalcos freeway.
In the southern Sierra, highway 175, linking Oaxaca city and Puerto ngel, is blocked at San Jos del Pacfico and Agua de Sol while there are two blockades on highway 135 in Teotiln de Flores Magn.
Highway 131 between Oaxaca and Puerto Escondido is closed at El Vidrio and there are more blockades in the municipalities of Jamiltepec and Ri Grande on the coast.
Near the boundary with Veracruz in the Cuenca de Papaloapan there are blockades on highway No. 175 and on a bridge that provides access to Valle Nacional.
Protesting teachers belong to Section 22 of the CNTE union. They have upped the ante in their ongoing protests against education reformfollowing the arrests last week of two Oaxaca union leaders on charges of money laundering and robbery.
