Will Smith"s Mustache Is For a Movie Role (Don"t Panic) - People

Collateral Beauty Official Trailer 2 (2016) - Will Smith Movie
Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic

Actors will do almost anything to transform into the characters that they play: Orlando Bloom recently went platinum blond for a role, Lucy Hale maintained the same hair color for years of playing Aria Montgomery, and if youve seen Will Smith lately, youve most likely noticed the wispy stache thats been gracing his upper lip sans explanation. He shares your concern that this look might be a permanent one and he explained the reason behind it on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

In an effort of clearing the caterpillar in the room, Kimmel asks Smith, Whats going on with that mustache? Is that on purpose or And Smith responds, explaining that its for a movie role, in which he plays a LAPD cop. Its really bad, its like the 1970s p***o [look], he laughs.

Unfortunately for Smith, he and Kimmel arent the only ones questioning the look his wife Jada isnt a fan of it either. She was like, Ill catch you on the next movie. Goodnight, honey, Smith jokes.

Its bad, man, cause you gotta wear it in the street, and everybody thinks Im like the Colt 45 [commercial] Billy Dee [Williams]. But Smith adds that while this might not be his personal best look, hes always open to trying something new for a role, drawing the line only if he is asked to recreate his 90s high-top fade haircut.

RELATED PHOTOS: Every Hair Color Lucy Hale Has Worn

The actor isnt the only member of the Smith family trying something festive on his face lately. His 18-year-old son Jaden attended the 2016 Fashion Awards in London, wearing a very bold, jewel-encrusted set of grills.

MEGA

Now if only Jaden would hand his grills over to his dad theyd certainly take the attention off of his stache.

Peter Vaughan: more than just the hardnut from Porridge

Game of Thrones star Peter Vaughan passes away at 93

Peter Vaughans face was his fortune. The general visage was wide and dominant. Those deep-set, pale-blue eyes hinted at menace. His mouth was often contorted into various expressions of discontent. So its no surprise that people will forever remember Vaughan, who has died at the age of 93, as Genial Harry Grout, the resident hardnut at HMP Slade in the classic Seventies sitcom Porridge.

As Grouty, Vaughan was a forbidding antidote to the gentler souls who peopled d**k Clement and Ian La Frenaiss superb ensemble piece. He arranged prison breaks, he ran a drugs ring, he had henchmen who would carry out his orders with thuggish abandon. Yet Vaughan also created a singularly comic character. Despite Grouty being a nasty piece of work, there was always something humorous in Vaughans performance and vulnerable, too. You could imagine Grouty giving Frank Sinatra a spin on the turntable and getting a little emotional.
