What Resolution? Priyanka Chopra"s 5-Step Plan for Inside-Out Wellness All Year Long

Priyanka Chopra Suffers "Minor Incident" on Quantico Set

priyanka chopra has mastered the art of the quick change. Time zones, that is. Over the past few weeks, the actress has zipped to Mumbai for work, returned to New York for Quanticos shooting schedule, and then hopped over to Los Angeles, where her Golden Globes looka plunging gold Ralph Lauren Collection dress paired with a full-stop berry lipbetrayed no sign of travel weariness. Then again, acting is her trade. A little overworked, a little jet-lagged, but Im good, she reports with a breath of optimism. Such grace under strain has served the India native wellthrough her school-age years in the United States, her victory in the Miss World 2000 pageant, and a subsequent roster of films spanning Bollywood and Hollywood. Its little wonder that she can handle the breakneck pace that comes with playing Quanticos Alex Parrish, the FBI agent turned CIA analyst at the center of the ABC thriller, which resumes its second season on January 23.

Chopras drive to take on outsize challenges is something of an inherited trait. My mother is a huge, huge influence in my life, she explains of her overachiever mom, a double-M.D. who manages a medical practice while running her daughters production company. She speaks some eight languages. Shes just someone who believes in being a woman of the world.

Chopras own global presence has recently grown twofold. Late last month, Pantene anointed her the brands newest ambassador, a move that comes as no surprise to anyone familiar with the screen stars voluptuous head of hair. Its been consistently my crowning glory, she says with a laugh, crediting the new strengthening Smooth & Sleek shampoo with taking it to the next level. (This is not a shameless plug, she stresses: Just try it once, and you will see that Im not lying.) Shes also taken on a new role as a global UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, lending her efforts to help support childrens rights and gender equality.

With so much resolve already on display, Chopra doesnt have use for New Years pronouncements. Like every single person, by the time [the] third [of] January arrives, I break my resolution! she confesses. Instead, she offers up wisdom thats worth adoptingand reaffirmingall year long, including a body-positive mindset and an Ayurvedic coconut-oil scalp treatment passed down from her grandmother.

The Scalp SaverIm someone who believes in beauty products that are both Ayurvedic and, I guess, normal. Because of the fact that I was born in India, Ive been exposed to a lot of herbal tricks and remedies; the women in the family always have easy ways of [caring for] things, especially hair, actually. It started with my grandmother. Three days of the week at least, she would sit me down, and it was sort of a traditional thing in India that you do: Moms oil their daughters hair and braid it. Coconut oil is healthy for the scalp and the growth of hair, [making it] longer and stronger. I heat up the oil a little bit and do a coconut-oil massage, then I wrap it with a hot towel, so it soaks [into] the scalp. I do it twice a month, and then you just shampoo and condition it normally. I guess thanks to that, I have extremely luscious hair that can stand up against the brutality of my profession!

The Confidence GameThe pressures on women around the world, I think, are the same: the reach of trying to look like perfection, which is not possible for real women. I dont think its just America or India at all, [the ideal of] being impossibly skinny or having impossibly perfect skin. What is very important for women is to own who you are and accept who you are and run with that. To be able to own your own personality is one of the most difficult things on the planet because we are inundated by these extreme, unachievable ideologies of what beauty should be. But I think true beauty really comes from having a sense of confidencethat you walk into a room and people wonder why youre so confident. I think that makes for intrigue.

The Daily FixIn everyday life, we wake up in the morning and go for our jobs. Nobody has the luxury to spend time taking care of their hair or their skin or giving it a regimen, right? I dont have time to get a facial. I dont have time to go to the spa and get my body wrapped in seaweed or whatever. I dont get deep-conditioning treatments. Thats why my shampoo is awesome. Its important for us to have products that give us the ability of looking like weve just stepped out of a salon. Its really important to find things that protect and preserve us how we want to be protected and preserved. Like, for example, drinking as much water as you can and staying hydrated, or trying to eat foods that are [rich] in antioxidants, or taking the stairs instead of the elevatorthings that you can build into your life to take care of yourself.

The Body PositiveLucky for me, in Baywatch [slated to hit theaters May 2017] I dont have to wear the red swimsuit because I play the antagonist; Im not a lifeguard. It was great because I didnt have to train like the others! [laughs] But I have had moments, whether its been in my music videos or in Quantico or in my movies in India, where theres a sense of, Oh my G*d, I better be in the best shape of my lifebecause when you run in slow motion, everything moves! You want to be toned. The camera sees everything. We all have an idea of what shape we want to be in when we step into that bikini, but its very different for each person. I think being in swimsuit-body [shape] does not mean that you have to have washboard abs and muscular thighs; I dont. Ive always been curvaceous, and I dont believe in being extremely skinny. Thats the best shape for my body, and I think each one of us needs to figure out what our best version of us is, individual to us.

The Greater GoodWhen you are in a privileged placeand by privileged I dont mean affluent; I mean where we have the ability to live our lives the way we want, be healthy, [go] to work, go to school, and make our own decisionsand you look around the world, you see how many people, especially women and children, arent allowed to do that. The one thing that I want to stand for when it comes to UNICEF is rights: The right of a child or a female to make her own choices. The world is not making it easy for us to stand up for ourselves and say we [believe] in equality. I think the ability for us to find our strength within ourselves [is key], going back to the whole confidence thing. Thats why its so great to work with Pantene because it has always advocated exactly that: Strong is beautiful. Its not saying skinny is beautiful; its not saying being a beauty pageant winner is beautiful or an actress is beautiful. Strong is beautiful, and it is such an important time for women to be strong right now.

Obama ends "wet foot, dry foot" policy for Cubans

Obama ends Cuban "wet foot/dry foot" policy

With the end of the "wet foot/dry foot" policy, Cuban immigrants will no longer have preferential treatment. Video provided by Newsy Newslook

President Obama announced Thursday an end tothe 20-year-old "wet foot, dry foot" policy that allowedmost Cuban migrants who reach U.S. soil to stay and become legal permanent residents after one year.

President Obamaissued a statement Thursday evening sayingthe U.S. is working to normalize relations with its one-time foe, and ending thispolicy was the next logical step.

"Effective immediately, Cuban nationals who attempt to enter the United States illegally and do not qualify for humanitarian relief will be subject to removal," Obama said. "By taking this step, we are treating Cuban migrants the same way we treat migrants from other countries."

the "wet foot, dry foot" policy, created by President Clinton in 1995,has generally allowedCubans who simply touch U.S. soilto stay in the country. Those caught at sea are returned to Cuba. In exchange for the new policy, Cuba has agreed to start accepting Cubans who were issued a deportation order in the United States, something the communist nation has refused to do for decades.

The decision, formalized in a joint statement issued by both governments Thursday, comes as Obama tries to cement his historic opening of diplomatic relations with Cuba and one week before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.

Obama ended more than five decades of isolation with Cuba in December 2014and even visited the island in 2016. Trump has said he would renegotiate the U.S. dealings with Cuba, and ending the "wet foot, dry foot" policy could affect Trump"s plans.

Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., who has advocated for closer ties with Cuba, praised the move.

"Individuals on both sides of the U.S.-Cuba debate recognize and agree that ending wet foot, dry foot is in our national interest," Flake said. "Its a move that brings our Cuba policy into the modern era, while allowing the United States to continue its generous approach to those individuals and refugees with a legitimate claim for asylum."

Others were enraged, arguing that Cuba"s communist regime continues to violate the human rightsof its citizens. Frank Calzon, executive director of the Center for a Free Cuba, called Obama"s decision "another example of a heartless foreign policy."

Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, a Cuban-American Republican from Florida, agreed."With just eight days left in his administration, President Obama has found one more way to frustrate the democratic aspirations of the Cuban people and provide yet another shameful concession to the Castro regime," he said.

Cubans have received favorable treatment from the United Statesever since Fidel Castro took control of the island in 1959 and declared it a communist ally of the Soviet Union. Congress passed the Cuban Adjustment Act in 1966 that allowed tens of thousands of Cubans who had already fled Castro"s revolution to gain legal status in the U.S.

When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, it left Cuba in economic ruin, prompting thousands moreto take to the sea for the United Stateson makeshift boats and rafts. To end the crisis, Clinton enacted the "wet foot, dry foot" policy.

Rumors that the policy would end have been rampant in Cuba since the 2014 rapprochement between the two countries, prompting a surge of Cubans fleeing for the United States. In the year before Obama and Cuban President Ral Castro announced the opening of diplomatic relations, 24,278 Cubans reached the U.S. That number nearly doubled in 2015 and surpassed 54,000 in 2016, according to the White House.

Many Cubans continuetraveling to the U.S. by sea in rickety, dangerous boats built from spare parts in Cuba. In recent years, more Cubans have taken advantage of laws that allow them to travel to Ecuador, where thousands have started the long, dangerous land voyage across Venezuela, Central America and Mexico to reach the southwest border.

The Obama administration said the surge in Cubans risking their lives to reach the U.S. played an important factor in its decision. Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodessaid the improving diplomatic relationship between the two countries also contributed.

For example, U.S. officials met Thursday with their Cuban counterparts in Washington to coordinate efforts to combat human trafficking, and another set of government officials met in Havana to discuss outstanding claims by U.S. citizens who had their property confiscated during Fidel Castros revolution.

Rhodes pointed to one more factor: Most Cubans now come to the U.S. "for more traditional reasons, in terms of seeking economic opportunity," instead of fleeing in fear of the Castro regime as in the past.

That"s why the U.S. should treat them the same as economic migrants from any other country, Rhodes said.

"There"s not going to be a separate queue for Cubans," he said. "It just treats the Cuban migrants like migrants from other countries."

Under the new joint agreement, the U.S. will still accept at least 20,000 Cubans each year through traditional immigration channels.

Sevilla 3-3 Real Madrid (Aggregate 3-6): Zidane"s side reach Copa del Rey quarter-finals

Real Madrid vs Sevilla 3-0 - All Goals - 04/01/2017 HD 720p

A Gareth Bale-style goal from 20-year-old Marco Asensio, a Sergio Ramos Paneka penalty, and a third goal from Karim Benzema with the last kick of the game, put Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals and took their unbeaten run to 40 matches.

Sevilla came into the second leg 3-0 down from the first game but they are the team that never know when they are beaten and with the help of a debut goal from former Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic they so nearly turned the tie around and ended Madrid"s run.

Asensio"s strike was the pick of the six goals and good enough to win any game. He galloped from deep inside his own half to score it, covering 70 metres in 11 seconds.

Not since Bale ran from the halfway line in the Copa del Rey final in 2014 had we seen anything like it. He did not make the Bale detour off the pitch but he showed the same power and control to finish after such a lung-busting run. Against another rival it might have put the game to bed but against Sevilla it merely kick-started the drama.

They had come into the game needing an early goal and they got it from an unexpected source. Real Madrid left-back Danillo threw himself at Pablo Sarabia"s cross and headed it past his own goalkeeper Kiko Casilla.

That made it 3-1 on aggregate and Sevilla were lifted with Wissam Ben Yedder going close on several occasions as Madrid wobbled. Danilo was booked for a foul as his night got no better.

Madrid threatened too and Mariano had a goal chalked-off for offside. They were soon up against former Manchester City striker Jovetic. He came on for his debut replacing the injured Joaquin Correa just before half-time.

Before he could make his mark on the game Asensio made his. He was inside his own half when Real Madrid keeper Casilla punched the ball clear. He glided past the first white-shirted opponent midway inside his own half, then proceeded to run the length of the pitch to score.

It was Sevilla forward Luciano Vietto who tried to stay with him but he was out-paced and overpowered and when Sevilla keeper David Soria came out to close the angle, Asensio slipped the ball through his legs and it trickled over the line.

It was some goal but such is the cup spirit of Sevilla it did nothing to dampen spirits in the Sanchez Pizjuan.

They made it 2-1 on the night and 2-4 on aggregate when Jovetic announced himself formally on his new Spanish stage. Sergio Escudero crossed from the left and the Montenegro forward lashed a shot past Casilla.

Sevilla"s ballsy coach Jorge Sampaoli was going for it now. He had held back some first teamers with one eye on Sunday"s league repeat of this fixture. But he threw on Samir Nasri and Vitolo to roars from the home supporters.

Sevilla duly closed the gap to one goal on aggregate with their third of the night. Casilla failed to deal with a cross from the Sevilla right and when he pushed the ball out into Vicente Iborra"s path the midfielder poked the ball home to make it 3-1 on the night and 4-3 on aggregate.

There were still ten minutes left and Real Madrid appeared to be hanging on but Ramos eased their nerves. Casemiro was bundled over in the box and with his former supporters abusing him behind the goal he dinked a Panenka penalty past Soria to finally kill off the never-say-die home side.

Madrid even got to keep their unbeaten run going when Benzema struck on 93 minutes to make it 3-3 on the night. Madrid through, and still seemingly invincible.

Rams have a new leading man in Coach Sean McVay

Flashback: Sean McVay, Washington Redskins offensive coordinator

The Rams featured one of the youngest teams in the NFL last season.

Now they have the youngest head coach in league history.

On Thursday, the Rams hired 30-year-old sean mcvay, the Washington Redskins offensive coordinator for the past three seasons.

The Rams will formally introduce McVay in a news conference Friday at their training facility at Cal Lutheran in Thousand Oaks.

This is a great day as we welcome Sean McVay as our new head coach, Rams owner Stan Kroenke said in a statement Thursday. The accomplishments and success that he has had in less than a decade in our league are impressive.

We are confident in his vision to make this team a consistent winner and we will all continue to work together to achieve our ultimate goal bringing a Rams Super Bowl championship home to Los Angeles.

McVay, who will turn 31 on Jan. 24, is about eight months younger than Lane Kiffin was when he was hired by the Oakland Raiders in 2007.

McVay is essentially in the same age demographic as his players. Rams defensive end William Hayes, at 31, is older than McVay, who was hired to turn around a team that finished 4-12 this season while averaging an NFL-worst 262.7 yards and 14 points per game.

McVays most important task: developing quarterback Jared Goff, the No. 1 pick in the 2016 draft.

The Rams have not had a winning season since 2003 and have not made the playoffs since 2004.

Kevin Demoff, vice president of football operations, had said the Rams would not limit their search. They formally interviewed eight candidates before selecting McVay.

I am incredibly honored by this opportunity and I want to start by thanking Mr. Kroenke and Kevin Demoff for their faith in me to lead the Los Angeles Rams as head coach, McVay said in a statement. Collectively, we are committed to building a championship-caliber team, and Im excited to start that process and make our fans proud.

After McVays hiring was announced, players reacted on social media.

Excited for the future of this team. Let"s do this thing! tweeted Goff, who met with McVay before he was hired.

Welcome coach!!! Glad to have you here!! tweeted middle linebacker Alec Ogletree.

McVay replaces Jeff Fish-er, who despite having a contract extension, was fired with three games left in his fifth season. General Manager Les Snead, who was involved in the search and interview process, is expected to be retained. Snead also received a contract extension before last season.

McVay is bringing in veteran coach Wade Phillips as defensive coordinator. Phil-lips, 69, is a former NFL head coach and was Denvers defensive coordinator for the last two seasons, helping the Broncos win Super Bowl 50 last February.

Phillips will oversee a unit that ranked ninth under former coordinator Gregg Wil-liams, now with the Cleveland Browns.

The Rams believe McVay can do for the offense what he did in Washington. He is credited with developing quarterback Kirk Cousins, a fourth-round draft pick, into a front-line starter. This season, Washington ranked third in the NFL, averaging 403.4 yards per game. The offense was 12th in scoring, averaging 24.8 points per game.

McVay initially interviewed last week and wowed Rams executives before doing the same in an interview with the San Francisco 49ers on Monday. He interviewed with the Rams again Wednesday and convinced them he was ready for the opportunity.

McVay played college football at Miami (Ohio) and got his coaching start in 2008 on Jon Grudens staff with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is the grandson of John McVay, a former San Francisco 49ers executive who was part of five Super Bowl titles.

The Rams also interviewed special teams coordinator John Fassel, Carolina secondary coach Steve Wilks, Arizona offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin, New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels New England defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, Buffalo offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn and Jacksonville interim coach Doug Marrone.

Jacksonville hired Marrone on Monday. Vance Joseph, Miamis defensive coordinator, was scheduled to interview with the Rams, but the Broncos hired him as head coach Wednesday.

Lynn was scheduled to interview again with the Rams this week, but the Rams believed they found their coach in McVay. The Chargers appear set to hire Lynn.

New Dodge Demon muscle car will top 707 horsepower

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles plans to bring back the Dodge Demon, a muscle car from the 1970s, with an engine that kicks out even more horsepower than the Charger and Challenger Hellcat models.

The automaker said it will reveal the Dodge Challenger Demon SRT at the New York Auto Show in April.

Fiat Chrysler"s decision to launch an ultra-powerful Demon comes at a time when most automakers are talking about self-driving cars and electric cars and illustrates how the Auburn Hills automaker, especially with its dodge brand, is not afraid to sell screaming power.

"Most cars attempt to be everything to everybody. Then there are the rare few that revel in a single objective, rendering them totally irresistible to a subculture," said Tim Kuniskis, Fiat Chrysler"s head of passenger car brands. "The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is conceived, designed and engineered for a subculture of enthusiasts who know that a tenth is a car and a half second is your reputation."

But Kuniskis said the Demon will be more powerful than the Hellcat models, which are powered by a 6.8-liter, V-8 engine that pumps out 707 horsepower.

"This will be the next iteration," Kuniskis said cryptically. "It will be the SRT Demon. Every single week, a new video will drop leading up to New York, saying heres what"s new. And then New York. We will drop the whole car in New York."

The response to the introduction of the Hellcat in 2015 exceeded the company"s expectations, forcing it to double production in 2016. Introducing a Demon version of the Challenger could have a similar impact.

Dodge added a Demon model to its Dodge Dart lineup in 1971. The Demon shared a body with the Plymouth Duster, according to Dodgedemon.net. The Demon featured a different grille and rear taillight assembly. It was offered as two models: the Demon two-door coupe and the Demon 340 two-door coupe, both with V-8 engines.

The logo was the word Demon in yellow with a devil and a fork in the center over the M, according to the website.
