Google Tracked Web Search Volume for "Alexander Hamilton" During Musical Group"s Grammys Performance Here"s ...

Alexander Hamilton

Hamilton may have won the Grammy for best musical theater album Monday night, but that doesnt necessarily mean people know much about the historical figure the song is named for.

According to Google Trends, the number of Google searches for Who is Alexander Hamilton? spiked by about four times during the broadway groups performance at the 58th annual Grammy awards.

The analytics take into account only the number of searches from within the U.S. and suggest a relatively large number of people dont know that Alexander Hamilton was a Founding Father of the country in which they live.

More detailed data show the states with the highest volume of searches asking Who is Alexander Hamilton? The number next to each state shows the search volume relative to the highest point on the map, according to Google.

Delaware had the highest number relative to the highest point in the U.S., followed by Kentucky, Maryland and Tennessee. Mississippi rounded out the top five states for the highest volume of Hamilton searches.
