AUBURN HILLS -- All is quiet on the Detroit Pistons trade front, but talk is brewing elsewhere about a possible blockbuster three-team trade involving Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Love.

The New York Daily News reported Friday the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics are discussing a possible deal that would send Kevin Love to Boston.

To help sweeten the deal, the Daily News" Frank Isola writes, the Knicks are in very preliminary talks of sending forward Carmelo Anthony to the Cavs, who sit atop the NBA"s Eastern Conference with a 38-14 record.

The trade deadline is 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18.

Anthony shot down the rumor on Friday, telling SiriusXM NBA Radio he"s not going anywhere and has no plans to waive his no-trade clause necessary for the Knicks to shop him.

Important to note that Isola, who reported in December of the Knicks" interest in Pistons backup point guard Brandon Jennings, acknowledged Anthony"s comments and wrote Saturday that talks have not progressed passed the preliminary stage.

More Cavs chatter: Speaking of Cleveland, the Cavs are among a group of Eastern Conference teams interested in trading for Sacramento Kings guard Ben McLemore, MLive sister website Cleveland.com reports. "McLemore would be additional backcourt depth at a relative cheap rate [$3.1 million this season, $4 million in 2016-17]," writes Chris Haynes. "(He) could also serve as a security blanket should J.R. Smith decide to bolt in free agency this summer."

Celtics say no to Howard, Horford: With Boston positioned third in the Eastern Conference, lots of talk has centered on the Celtics upgrading their frontcourt. But they reportedly have little interest in Dwight Howard and Al Horford, writes The Boston Globe, citing league and team sources. As we wrote yesterday, Howard is reportedly being shopped around by the Houston Rockets now and the Atlanta Hawks, fourth in the East after making it to the conference finals last season, are reportedly willing to part ways with Horford, Jeff Teague and Kyle Korver if the price is right. "... The Celtics are taking a cautious, measured approach," writes the Globe"s Adam Himmelsbach. "According to league sources, Boston is reluctant to mortgage its future in exchange for players who could become free agents at season"s end."
