Christian Canos among locals selected by FC Barcelona for tournament

Christian Canos, a 12-year-old midfielder who attends St. Ignatius School in Monfort Heights and plays outdoor soccer for the U14 Star SC Panthers, was selected to travel to Spain for the upcoming FC Barcelona International Grassroots Tournament.

Three players from Terrace Park - midfielders Jack Davis and Bennett Harris and forward Max Murphy - and two players from Loveland - midfielders Jonathan and Andrew Sichak - also were selected to participate.

Canos" father, Michael, said they leave for Barcelona on Friday (April 7) and return on April 17.

It will be Christian"s first trip outside of the United States, according to Michael Canos.

Christian also was selected to play for the State Team for the Ohio South Development Program in 2016, his father added, and he plays for the Ginga Academy during the winter.

We are very excited to announce that a young Cincinnati player, Christian Caos (2004, midfielder), has been selected to participate in the FC Barcelona grassroot International Tournament. This tournament is organized by fc barcelona, and selected FCBEscola teams will gather from around the world to compete during Easter Week in FCB facilities.
