On the same day that Bandcamp announced it"s partnership with Ticketmaster, concert discovery rival Songkick was escalating its legal battle with the ticketing giant. In a new a filing, Songkick is seeking an immediate preliminary injunction against Ticketmaster.
A legal dispute over fan club "presales" has taken a twist after ticketing platform Songkick filed a legal motion accusing Live Nation of retaliating against Songkick for their anti-trust lawsuit.
Last year, Songkick filed a lawsuit against Live Nation and its subsidiary Ticketmaster, accusing it of engaging in anti-competitive behavior by pressuring touring artists and concert venues to not work with Songkick`s service. Songkick"s suit centered on the sale of presale tickets, which Ticketmaster requires to be priced at least equal to those on general sale on Ticketmaster"s platform.
Now, according to the Wall Street Journal, Songkick has filed a new motion in the case, alleging that Ticketmaster has retaliated, by demanding that Songkick pay the company as if Ticketmaster had conducted the presales for Songkick"s clients.
According to the WSJ, the motion alleges that a senior Ticketmaster executive admitted that the company made these demands and escalated their anticompetitive conduct in this way due to Songkick"s lawsuit. "This retaliation, if not enjoined, will drive Songkick out of the artist presale ticketing business in the U.S., the motion said.
In a statement Live Nation provided to the WSJ, the company noted that the right to ticket artist presales is explicitly within the scope of its exclusive rights and that it is not obligated to relinquish this right, though it does share up to 8% of tickets with artists as an accommodation.
Johnny Depps pal Doug Stanhope broke his silence about the defamation lawsuit Amber Heard filed over the explosive op-ed he wrote for TheWrap, in which he claimed that the actress was blackmailing her estranged husband.
PHOTOS: Celebrity Splits of 2016
Stanhope, 49, was a guest on SiriusXM"sThe Howard Stern Show on Monday, June 20."First of all, I blame you for this because last time I was on I misspoke and called her Amanda Heard instead of Amber, and you king of all media should have had some five second delay that corrected that, he quipped to Stern. "I think the whole lawsuit is just about calling her Amanda on your show."He joked that Legalzoom.com is defending him in the case. Anything that I say, they can twist my words, the comedian complained. Its such a bulls--t suit.
He went on to detail his side of the story about the article, and how it went viral after it was posted on TheWrap on May 29, six days after Heard filed for divorce from Depp. I put it on my website. The title was At a Loss for Words" whatever it was. TheWrap got it as an exclusive, however that worked, and said, Amber Heard Is Blackmailing Johnny Depp This Is How I Know. I didnt write that f--king title. I didnt put that stupid tabloid title in there. Im a better writer than that, so I dont know if its hinged on that, I dont know how much of it is spite.
While Heard called the piece highly defamatory, Stanhope said that the Alice Through the Looking Glass actor was happy with it. I had no contact with [Depp] until he texted me after that went out and said, Hey, thanks for being honest. He didnt know that was going out. I was a little petrified because it kind of made him look like a b***h. "Cause he was kind of a b***h, he said.
Although he admitted it "still feels like name-dropping, Stanhope maintained that he didn"t write the op-ed for publicity, and said the lawsuit is comical to him because he doesnt have millions of dollars to lose. The idea of some Hollywood supermodel lady winning all of my s--t She would be locking the doors driving down my street even without seeing a person. I live on the Mexican border in this dirty pothole-riddled neighborhood.
Stanhope still stands by what he wrote, and repeated his allegations from the article on the radio show. "I visited him that day, he said of May 21, the day Heard says Depp hit her with a cellphone during a violent argument. He was alluding to the fact that she was going to do something like this. She didnt come out until a week later that that happened. But it happened that night, and he was alluding to shes going to do something like this.
"I think what shes trying to do is make me shut the f--k up, Stanhope concluded. "Because I cant say anything about it, and now Im talking more.

As Us Weekly previously reported, Heard, 30, filed a defamation lawsuit against Stanhope on Friday, June 3. Defendants engaged in this scheme to try to divert public attention away from the true facts regarding Depp which caused their marriage to fail, namely, that Depp repeatedly abused Heard throughout their marriage, at times to the point of her fearing for her life, Heards attorneys wrote in court documents obtained by Us.
Stanhope alleged in the column that Depp confided in him and another friend, Bingo, that the Danish Girl actress was planning to leave him and plotting to blackmail him. He opened up in the most vulnerable of ways that it was not only his mother [that was upsetting him], but that Amber was now going to leave him, threatening to lie about him publicly in any and every possible duplicitous way if he didnt agree to her terms. Blackmail is what I would imagine other people might put it, he wrote.
A rep for Stanhope previously had no comment.Us Weekly also reached out to Heards rep for comment.

Penny Dreadful | "Find Vanessa" Official Clip | Season 3 Episode 9
Share.
Fogs, frogs, and feedings. By Matt Fowler
Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.
Heading into this, it wasn"t fully clear if Penny Dreadful was burning off both the penultimate episode and the finale for Season 3 in one night or if the finale itself was to be considered a two-parter. Given how short "Perpetual Night" was though - clocking in at less than 45 minutes - I guess I"d have to say the answer fell into the two-parter category.
Not that the ending wasn"t cool - with Ethan wolfing out on Dracula"s vampire minions and then the reveal that Kaetenay was also a werewolf (explaining his snake venom survival!) - but the episode did feel a bit short-sheeted, as if it were missing that final scene or two to drive things home. Maybe even a scene with Vanessa to put more of a solid stamp on it.
Mostly, aside from Victor allowing Lily to go free, "Perpetual Night" was about bringing everyone (except John Clare) together in a crusade to save Vanessa. And that meant Catriona and Dr. Seward both arriving, separately, at Sir Malcolm"s place at opportune moments - Seward to help provide answers through Renfield and Catriona to help annihilate attacking vampires.
So just as everyone came together to rescue Sir Malcolm last season, a team"s been assembled to topple Dracula"s dark hold on London. Which the show actually went through with, the whole End Times scenario. Seven thousand dead in one week, huh? Does this mean most everyone"s now indoors? Fled the city? And will this fog of pestilence remain only in London or is the fate of the world actually at stake? I have a few questions as this is the biggest Penny Dreadful"s gone with its apocalypse scenario.
Billie Piper"s impassioned, tragic speech about Brona"s dead daughter was a true episode highlight. Because there had to be a reason for Victor, this late in the game, to let Lily go. So there had to be a story sad enough to reach him, and us, and the tale of a baby freezing to death because her w***e mother got knocked out by a violent client was absolutely devastating.
The Verdict
A short, quick review here for a curiously short penultimate episode of Penny Dreadful, I"m afraid. I applaud the show"s choice to go full pestilence-apocalypse, but I still have questions about it. Perhaps they"ll be addressed in the finale. I mean, I once had questions about Kaetenay and some of them got answered right at the end of this one. Though, did anyone else notice how Wolf-Ethan was also surprised by the Kaetenay reveal? Did he know know his Apache father was a wolf too?

Global markets have been reacting positively to several opinion polls over the weekend that showed that the remain camp was regaining momentum ahead of the referendum on European Union membership on Thursday.
Public opinion appears to have turned since the murder of pro-EU Labour MP Jo c*x last Thursday which led to the suspension of campaigning by both sides. However, pollsters claim that the death has had little impact on sentiment and the remain camp was always likely to gain support in the last few days running up to the vote. Campaigning has now resumed.
The British pound has climbed as the Brexit concerns have eased, reaching $1.4679 at the end of Europe"s trading session, compared to levels of around $1.40 on Thursday. Oil prices also extended gains, due in part to the weaker dollar and Brexit concerns easing. Around the close, Brent hovered at $50.44, while U.S. crude was trading above 2.5 percent, around $49.30.
Despite Monday"s rally, analysts said any further move in the Brexit polls could cause further moves either way in markets.
"The market will surely gyrate some more in the next few days as any shift in that position triggers an exaggerated reaction, not just for sterling but for wider risk sentiment," Kit Juckes, global head of FX strategy at Societe Generale, said in a note.
Happy Father"s Day, Beautiful Father"s day Message from Son/daughter
Thuzio, a website that lets us normals book lunches and appearances with famous athletes, has been quietly rolling out a new feature that further lowers the access barrier for fans.
The company has introduced a mobile app that allows the talent listed on Thuzio to record quick, personalized video messages by request, for $99 a pop.
This includes quick game tips from pro athletes, birthday messages from their coaches, or, maybe, perhaps, a belated Happy Fathers Day message, straight from the source to Dad.
Thuzio, which officially launched last fall, is the brainchild of Mark Gerson of Gerson Lehrman Group, former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber, and Jared Augustine, who serves as CEO and previously worked at Seamless.com.
Gerson and Barber have said they saw an opportunity in the talent-booking market to create a more transparent marketplace whether athletes are being booked for personal engagements or corporate events (it should be noted that the majority of Thuzios bookings are still corporate gigs).
About half of the thousand athletes on Thuzio are currently sending personalized messages through the video app, available through either the iPhone 4, 4S, 5 or iPad. A majority of these athletes are retired, while about a quarter are still currently playing in their respective sports leagues.
Five hundred athletes is a pretty solid number to pick from, considering that Thuzio launched just about eight months ago, and names like Lawrence Taylor, Daunte Culpepper and Gary Payton are ready and willing to tape and send a quick video by request.
But there are some limitations. The first is that the mobile app is for the athletes only; Thuzio fans still have to book their athlete appearances through the website, which can be cumbersome. The site is heavily skewed toward male athletes.
Also, I ran a quick search for a few athletes the San Antonio Spurs Danny Green, who broke an NBA finals record last night with his sharp shooting, and Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana, who our boss, Kara Swisher, has admitted to not recognizing in the past (and she lives in San Francisco) and Thuzio came up short. Green isnt offering video messages, although you can get him to make an appearance somewhere if youve got $6,200 on hand; Joe Montana isnt even on Thuzio.
Not surprisingly, other marquee players are missing, too. It doesnt look like youll be lunching with LeBron James, Shaquille ONeal or Michael Jordan anytime soon through Thuzio.
But Thuzio says that as the platform grows, more and more athletes are joining of their own accord. The company says it processes dozens of transactions per week, with 20 percent growth month over month in both transactions and revenue.
Its also starting to slowly expand to areas beyond sports, with around 30 Broadway stars currently listed on the site, and there are plans in the works for other talent verticals.
PETALING JAYA: For the technologically inclined Gen-Y population, preparing a Fathers Day card was but a childhood memory.
Game store manager Abdul Hakim Green said he could not remember when was the last time he prepared a Fathers Day card for his dad.
It was ages ago, recalled the 24-year-old.
He said technology could cut both ways help or hinder the making of a Fathers Day card.
People can design and make Fathers Day cards using digital apps but some may just opt for something quicker, like send a message, instead of making a card, he added.
Postgraduate student Syazana Zahidah Mohd Uzir, 25, remembered that the last time she prepared a Fathers Day card was back when she was just a five-year-old kindergarten kid.
I used to write such cards but I dont keep them any more, said Syazana as she admitted that the tradition of preparing a Fathers Day card was no longer in vogue among the Gen-Yers.
Back in the day, kindergarten teachers would ask the children to create a card for Fathers Day. It was fun to do it, she recalled.
Jahirah Jalal Abidin, too, said the urge to deliver a Fathers Day card was diminishing.
Anyway, long gone are the days when we would cherish every moment in celebrating Fathers Day, like during our childhood.
These days, a father might just see the message without any deep feelings. In fact, they might even delete it accidentally!
Jahirah added that if it was a card, it would be more long-lasting as the father could touch and feel it, keep it and even paste it at the office!
