Happy Father"s Day Card Drawing Lesson | CC
PETALING JAYA: For the technologically inclined Gen-Y population, preparing a Fathers Day card was but a childhood memory.
Game store manager Abdul Hakim Green said he could not remember when was the last time he prepared a Fathers Day card for his dad.
It was ages ago, recalled the 24-year-old.
He said technology could cut both ways help or hinder the making of a Fathers Day card.
People can design and make Fathers Day cards using digital apps but some may just opt for something quicker, like send a message, instead of making a card, he added.
Postgraduate student Syazana Zahidah Mohd Uzir, 25, remembered that the last time she prepared a Fathers Day card was back when she was just a five-year-old kindergarten kid.
I used to write such cards but I dont keep them any more, said Syazana as she admitted that the tradition of preparing a Fathers Day card was no longer in vogue among the Gen-Yers.
Back in the day, kindergarten teachers would ask the children to create a card for Fathers Day. It was fun to do it, she recalled.
Jahirah Jalal Abidin, too, said the urge to deliver a Fathers Day card was diminishing.
Anyway, long gone are the days when we would cherish every moment in celebrating Fathers Day, like during our childhood.
These days, a father might just see the message without any deep feelings. In fact, they might even delete it accidentally!
Jahirah added that if it was a card, it would be more long-lasting as the father could touch and feel it, keep it and even paste it at the office!
