LOOK: Emotional Brett Favre has to stop Hall of Fame speech and ask for water

Gruden"s QB Camp - Brett Favre

Not only did Brett Favre give the longest speech in the history of the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday night, but he also gave one of the most emotional ones ever.

During his 33-minute-and-20-second speech, Favre thanked everyone from his wife to his mom to his mother-in-law! As most people know, once you start thanking your mother-in-law, that pretty much means you"re going to thank everyone you"ve ever met.

For Favre, the hardest part of his speech to get through was the two moments where he thanked his family. In one instance, things got so emotional that Favre had to completely stop his speech so he could ask fellow inductee Kevin Greene for a bottle of water.

"Kevin, give me some water. You got some water?" Favre asked.

After a quick drink, the quarterback regained his composure, "Sorry about that," Favre said.

Things got even more emotional for Favre later in his speech when he started talking about his dad. The story that Favre shared with everyone in Canton was a private one that he had never told before.

"This is something I"ve never told anyone, not even Deanna," Favre said. "My dad was my high school football coach. I never had a car growing up, I always rode to and from school with my father in his truck, and so he was always the last to leave the building because he had to turn the lights off, lock up, and then we made our way home."

Favre then recounted what the ride home was like in the days before he played his final high school game.

"It was the last high school football game of my career. .. And what I remember is sitting outside the coach"s office on a Wednesday waiting for my father to come out so we could leave," Favre said. "I overheard my father talking to the three other coaches, and he said, "I can assure you one thing about my son, he will play better, he will redeem myself, I know my son, he has it in him." And I never let him know I heard that. And I thought to myself, that"s a pretty good compliment."

Favre wasn"t sure if he had struggled on the field in the weeks before his dad made the comment, but he took it as a compliment because he knew his dad had faith that he would make himself better.

"I never told anyone [the story], but I never forgot that statement and that comment he made to the other coaches, and I want you to know, Dad, I spent the rest of my career trying to redeem myself," Favre said.

After he finished telling the story, Favre couldn"t control his emotions. The quarterback definitely redeemed himself though. Less than 20 years after his dad made those comments, Favre was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Unfortunately, Favre"s dad wasn"t in attendance on Saturday. Irvin Favre died in 2003 at the age of 58.

You can see Favre share the entire story below.

Liverpool dominate Barcelona in ICC win

Liverpool vs Barcelona 4-0 ● English Highlights ● International Champions Cup 2016

Liverpool showed just how useful their work has been in Jurgen Klopp"s first summer as manager with a ruthless 4-0 victory over European giants Barcelona in the International Champions Cup at Wembley on Saturday.

The Merseyside outfit were absolutely rampant in the capital as all of their goals came from pressing Luis Enrique"s side -- featuring Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez -- into submission of the ball, which allowed for Sadio Mane, Divock Origi and Marko Grujic to get their names on the scoresheet, as well as forcing ex-Red Javier Mascherano to put into his own net.

Daniel Sturridge missed the game as a precaution with a slight issue with his hip, but Klopp -- as he has done regularly throughout the summer -- used Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho as a front three.

The affair started at a frantic pace for a preseason workout. Liverpool came out of the blocks fastest, not giving their Spanish opponents any time on the ball in threatening areas.

The Reds" quick start was rewarded 15 minutes in after good work from Adam Lallana. The England international, playing slightly deeper than usual, pinched possession off the Catalans and launched an incisive counterattack before Firmino played in Mane to slot home.

However, all of their good play could have been undone as Messi went agonisingly close a short while later.

But Liverpool made three changes at the break and two of their substitutes had an instant impact. First, pressure from Henderson led to Mascherano"s own goal just seconds after the restart, before Origi brushed off Jeremy Mathieu to clinically finish and make it 3-0.

Fellow sub Grujic added a fourth in the dying seconds with a fine looping header, leaving Wembley -- hosting its second-largest ever crowd of 89,845 and mostly made up of Liverpool supporters -- in full admiration at what they had just witnessed.

The Reds next travel to Germany to face Klopp"s former team, Mainz, on Sunday to conclude their summer schedule and before their Premier League opener away at Arsenal full of confidence on the back of this display.

Barcelona needed to win by at least four goals to win the ICC trophy, which instead goes to PSG, who won all three of their games in the competition the summer.

The Spanish Super Cup is next for Luis Enrique"s side, starting with the first leg at Sevilla on Aug. 14.

Service members, retirees, family members and others authorized to shop in military exchanges will be able to watch NBCOlympicslive streaming coverage of all competition for the 2016 Rio Gamesfor free Aug. 3-21.

A partnership among Comcast NBCUniversal, the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, and U.S. cable, satellite and telecommunications companiesis offering access to 4,500 hours of coverage from NBC. This year 10,500 athletes from 206 countries will compete in 35 sports.

The free live streaming is available on computers or personal electronic devices to any authorized shopper, regardless of their branch of service.

Active-duty members and other authorized shoppers can visit NBCOlympics.com or the NBC Sports app, and choose the Exchange as their service provider. (AAFES refers to itself as the Exchange.) Viewers must have an active shopmyexchange.com account to verify eligibility to watch the streaming, because of content rights restrictions. Those restrictions also will apply to some overseas locations. Outside of the AAFES option, prices would vary depending on the telecommunications provider.

Additional information is available at shopmyexchange.com.

After Comcast NBCUniversal offered the service, a technicalteam figured out how to make it happen.

In addition to Comcast NBCUniversal, the team included Defense Media Activity, Defense Information Systems Agency, AAFES and DHI Telecom.

The opening ceremony will air Friday on NBCbut competition begins two days earlier. The Games end Aug. 21.

Few events unify the world like the Olympic Games, and it is only fitting that we make them accessible for those who chose to serve our country, said Carol Eggert, a retired Army brigadier general who is vice president of military and veteran affairs at Comcast, in a statement.

In addition to this live streaming, the American Forces Network will offer NBC Olympics broadcast and cable coverage on its television services for overseas American military communities around the world.

Huge Marilyn Monroe Statue Might Return To Palm Springs

The Marilyn Monroe Story (Rare 1963 Documentary)

Forever Marilynthat 26-feet tall, stainless steel statue of Marilyn Monroe from The Seven Year Itchmay be returning to Palm Springs in September, reports The Desert Sun.

The statue had graced Palm Springs in the past. Thanks to a loan from the Sculpture Foundation, which owns the statue, Forever Marilyn stood in downtown Palm Springs from 2012 to 2014. Now, the city wants to bring Marilyn back as it ramps up its plans to revitalize its downtown.

PS Resortsa local non-profit that aims to boost tourism to the cityis largely behind the initiative to secure the statue. The organization says that it will foot the bill to make it happen; half of the money will come from an agreement with a liquer company, and the other half will come through private fundraising. The current proposal is for the statue to be installed outside the Spa Resort Casino. Aftab Dada, chair of PS Resorts, told the Palm Springs City Council on Wednesday night that the plan is to have the statue at the end of September.

"I think that will be a great publicity and bring a lot of people from other cities into our downtown, and will tremendously help all our merchants, because she is a magnet, and great traffic driver," said Dada.

Forever Marilyn was constructed in 2011 by sculptor Seward Johnson, who has a knack for turning American iconography into giant-sized replications. The statue is often mocked by art critics and casual onlookers; VirtualTourist named it as one of the worst pieces of public art in America. But a lot of people also like taking pictures with it. As such, the statue has been shipped around to different cities to catch the gaze of curious onlookers. It had spent a year on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, and it was last spotted in the Australian city of Bendigo. Forever Marilyn is now heading back to its hometown of Jersey, and, if all things go according to plan, it"ll be coming to Palm Springs in the fall.

Anyway, here are some images of the statue at its last stop in Australia:
