Is your Sears or Macy"s closing? Here"s a look at the stores that will go dark

Sarasota Square Mall Macy"s closing by end of 2017

Two department store chains detailed massive closure plans Wednesday, setting the stage for more than 200 of their combined locations to close this spring.

Sears Holdings will shutter 108 Kmart and 42 Sears stores over the next few months, as it looks to stem its operating losses. The company released the list of stores it plans to close after an SEC filing from Seritage Growth Properties was posted Wednesday. The real estate investment trust disclosed that it would terminate the leases on 19 unprofitable stores that had been sold off to it.

Meanwhile, Macy"s provided a list of 68 stores it has close or will close by the middle of this year as part of a previously announced plan to close 100 stores. Macy"s, which also disclosed plans to restructure its management, has been shifting its strategy to reallocate spending toward new store concepts and its website amid declining sales. Macy"s will close another 30 or so locations over the next few years as leases or operating covenants expire, or sale transactions are completed.

The industry has been keeping a close eye on where Sears and Macy"s will go dark, as it could be a death knell for a mall to lose both anchor tenants.

In a note to investors on Tuesday, Morgan Stanley analysts said they had identified 578 malls that have Sears as a tenant about 53 percent of those included in its proprietary database. More importantly, the firm noted that there is "high tenant overlap, with 350 of these malls (or 61 percent) having both Sears and Macy"s as a tenant."

Appearing on both retailers lists", the Shenango Valley Mall, in Hermitage, Pennsylvania, is one such example. J.C. Penney is also listed as a current tenant at that mall.

Viewers react to 60 Minutes" Chicago report

SICK! CNN reporter Sara Ganim caught LAUGHING while watching Chicago Kidnapping footage on air! WOW!

Crime and casualties in chicago surged to a level more in line with a war zone than one of Americas great cities, correspondent Bill Whitaker reported on 60 Minutes this past Sunday. In 2016, with more than 700 murders and more than 4,000 people shot, Chicago saw the worst bloodshed in 18 years.

As crime in Chicago went up, police activity, at some point last year, underwent a drastic change. Data obtained by 60 Minutes showed that while gun violence spiked, police activity dropped in all 22 of Chicagos police districts.

The police are on their heels, former Chicago police superintendent Garry McCarthy told 60 Minutes. Were reaching a state of lawlessness.

Many viewers who tweeted responses to our story put the blame on Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who declined 60 Minutes request to be interviewed for the segment.

President-Elect Donald Trump tweeted the morning after the broadcast with some advice for Mayor Emanuel.

Trumps tweet prompted a range of reactions:

Many viewers disagreed on social media over who to blame for the bloodshed -- cops or criminals:

Atlanta snow: 1-4 inches expected, winter warning issued

Atlanta Georgia Weather Is Weird!

Today: Partly cloudy. Windy. High: 54

Tonight: Mostly cloudy. Low: 35

Tomorrow: Chance of wintry mix. High: 40

In less than 24 hours, a warning goes into effect for a winter storm that could dump up to 4 inches of snow on parts of metro Atlanta and North Georgia.

Gov. Nathan Deal issued a state of emergency, which begins at noon Friday, as the metro area braces for the "biggest snow threat" in three years. The emergency order covers 79 Georgia counties, including all of metro Atlanta.

The Georgia Emergency Management Agency warnedresidents Thursday to prepare to stay at home for at least three days.

With winter weather on the way, the agency said, now is the time to prepare.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed will discuss predicted winter weather at anews conference Friday morning.

The National Weather Services winter storm warning goes into effect at 4 p.m. Friday. It is set to expire at 1 p.m. Saturday.

According to the NWS, a winter storm warning means significant amounts of snow are expected or occurring, or significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous.

The main threat is expected to be after sunset (with precipitation) changing to all snow after midnight, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz said of Fridays forecast. It will only snow for a few hours, but it will be heavy.

Channel 2meteorologists are predicting between 1 and 4 inches of snow. They expect sleet and freezing rain Friday night that willeventually change to all snow.

Some sleet and snow mix is likely to start in the late afternoon or early evening hours in metro Atlanta, Nitz said. The heavier, accumulating snow will mostly come after midnight.

Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said this looks like the biggest snow and winter weather threat to metro atlanta since February 2014. Thats when inches of snow and ice covered the city and left hundreds of thousands stranded on roads and without power.

Heavier amounts of snow and rain could fall over parts of North Georgia, Monahan said.

Travel willbe difficult to impossible in spots late Friday and early Saturday, Monahan said.

The Georgia Department of Transportation has loaded trucks with brine to salt roads in metro Atlanta ahead of the anticipated storm, spokeswoman Natalie Dale said Wednesday. We have prepped and loaded trucks to brine the metro area as early as overnight (Thursday) night, she said.

MARTA officials have not made firm plans regarding the weather, but spokeswoman Alisa Jackson said customers should check the website frequently.

Delta has offered to waive certain change fees for flights booked between Jan. 6-7 and headed to cities hit hardest by snow storms.

Amtrak modified rail service for trains traveling to Virginia and North Carolina on Saturday. The Palmetto trains 89 and 90 were scheduled to head to and from Savannah, respectively, but will now operate between Washington D.C. and New York City.

Alabama Gov. Robert Bentleyissued a state of emergency beginning at 7 a.m. Friday for counties affected by snow.

Report: Chinese and Qatari Teams Trying to Tempt FC Barcelona Target Darijo Srna

FC Barcelona arrive in Bilbao ahead of Copa del Rey clash

Darijo Srna is unsure about the relatively lower salary being offered by fc barcelona, and it may get even more complicated as Chinese and Qatari teams offer a kings ransom to lure the fullback, according to a report from Mundo Deportivo.

The Barcelona paper has stated the one stumbling block towards the transfer of Srna to the Camp Nou is the reduced salary offer. Barcelona are already near reachingthe budget limit when it comes to salaries, and will not offer more.

With the Chinese and Qatari leagues awash in money, and Srna due to be a free agent soon, the report says many teams are making offers.

Of course, playing in China, Qatar, or Ukraine does not compare to playing for FC Barcelona. Thats why the Barcelona front office is asking him to consider the sporting side over concerns about moving to Catalonia or getting paid less.

Time For The Cowboys To Let Randy Gregory Go

Randy Gregory could impact Cowboys right away

I looked at my email on Thursday afternoon and read this from the dallas cowboys: "randy gregory of the Dallas Cowboys has been suspended without pay for at least one year for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse."

Less than a week after making the first sack of his two-year NFL career, defensive end Randy Gregory will miss the playoffs and the rest of the Cowboys" 2017 season.

He previously served a four-game suspension to start the 2016 season for his first substance abuse violation and served an additional 10-game suspension for violating the league"s substance abuse policy for a second time.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones should let him go but that is not his nature. Jones will try to work with him instead of giving him a third chance.

My reason for saying its time to give up on him is simple. Hes not committed to football. Its not the main thing in his life. The other reason the Cowboys should cut their ties is you can"t depend on him. This is the third suspension for the defensive end in the last year. He failed a drug test at the NFL Scouting Combine in 2015.

How many more times does Jones want to be let down by Gregory?

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett constantly talks about having "the right kind of guys" on his football team. It"s clear Gregory has talent on the football field, but talent doesn"t mean a hill of beans if drugs are keeping him from playing on it. He is proving to be the "wrong kind of guy."

Before the 2015 draft, he was rated as a top-10 overall talent but fell to the Cowboys in the second round (60th pick) because of his history with drugs. Jerry rolled the dice and now, when they need him the most for the playoffs, he wont be there.

Its time to let Gregory go. Hes had 15 career tackles, one sack and played in 14 out of a possible 32 games for the Cowboys. At age 24, he should have played his last game in a Cowboys uniform.

FC BARCELONA Event with Nike Football

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly ready to go to war for an 18-year-old wonderkid.

Previous CAF African Player Of The Year Winners

Los Blancos have reportedly been eyeing Uruguayan defender Santiago Bueno for quite some time, but according to Don Balon, Barca have now entered the chase for the teenager"s signature.

The 18-year-old, who is said to be mature beyond his years, plays for Penarol in Uruguay, and has represented his country"s U17 and U20 teams.

It is believed that Bueno is a centre back first and foremost, but can also play in a defensive midfield role as a result of his composure and technical ability.

The report also claimed the defender should have no hassles in signing for any European team as he has an Italian passport.

Real reportedly spotted Bueno"s talent when they were scouting midfielder Federico Valverde, who now plays for the Santiago Bernabeu club"s Castilla team.

African Star To Become Highest Paid After World Record Bid?

Despite Los Blancos seemingly being the first major club interested in the wonderkid, Barca are expected to make a move in the coming days.
