Young Juliet Huddy

Here"s a roundup of news trending across the nation and world today.

1. Russian report: According to U.S. officials, President-elect Donald Trump was made aware last week of an unsubstantiated report that says Russia has compromising personal and financial information about him. Trumps briefing by U.S. intelligence officials, first reported by CNN, is said to have included a 35-page report that detailed an assessment of what intelligence officials believe was Russias attempts to manipulate the U.S. presidential election in addition to an addendum that contained the information about Trump. The information that Russia has material they could use to blackmail Trump allegedly came from a former British spy, and was part of an opposition research report prepared for a Republican who opposed Trump. According to reports, it was later funded by Democrats. The document remains unconfirmed and is said to contain some errors.

2. Sessions testimony: Trump nominee for attorney general, Sen. Jeff Sessions, will be back on Capitol Hill Wednesday for a second day of confirmation hearings. Sessions answered questions from fellow senators for hours on Tuesday. In one pointed exchange, Sen. Patrick Leahy, (D-Vt.), asked Sessions about the Access Hollywood tape of Donald Trump talking about what he could do to women since he was a celebrity. He asked Session if what Trump described was sexual assault. Is grabbing a woman by her genitals without consent sexual assault, Leahy asked. Sessions answered it was.

3. Trump, Kennedy meet: Donald Trumpmet with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.,Tuesday at Trump Tower in Manhattan. The Trump transition team said in a statement that "the President-elect enjoyed his discussion with Robert Kennedy Jr. on a range of issues and appreciates his thoughts and ideas," adding that the president-elect "is exploring the possibility of forming a commission on Autism." When interviewed in the lobby of the building, Kennedy told reporters that he would be the head of a commission "to make sure we have scientific integrity in the vaccine process for efficacy and safety effects."

4. Roof sentenced to death: Dylann Roof, who was convicted last month of killing nine people at a church in South Carolina, was sentenced to death on Tuesday. Roof acted as his own attorney during the sentencing phase of his trial. He told the 12 jurors that "There is nothing wrong with me psychologically, and that he felt he had to commit the shootings.

5. The farewell address: President Barack Obama went back to where he got his start in politics to deliver his farewell address. During the nearly one hour speech, he urged a crowd of thousands in Chicago Tuesday night to stay engaged in the political process. While he did not mention Donald Trump by name, he did take the opportunity to warn that opinions should be based in facts. without a willingness to admit new information, and concede that your opponent is making a fair point, and that science and reason matter, we"ll keep talking past each other, making common ground and compromise impossible." He also thanked first lady Michelle Obama, his daughters, Vice President Joe Biden and his supporters.

The New York Times is reporting that a former Fox News employee has received a settlement over sexually harassment claim against bill oreilly. juliet Huddy says OReilly made advances toward her and tried to have a sexual relationship with her. She claims that when she rebuffed him he tried to derail her career. According to The Times, Huddy received a high six figure settlement. Fox News responded that, "Juliet Huddy"s letter of intent to sue contained substantial falsehoods which Bill O"Reilly vehemently denied."

Russian report; Obama"s farewell; Trump, Kennedy meet

Juliet Huddy, Teresa Priolo, Liz Dahlem & Lauren Simonetti (8-05-16)

Updated: Wednesday, January 11, 2017 @ 1:47 PMPublished: Wednesday, January 11, 2017 @ 11:00 AMBy: Lynn Hulsey-Staff Writer

President-elect Donald Trump took on intelligence reports, detailed how his businesses would run while hes president and announced his Supreme Court plans during an hour-long news conference today.

It was his first news conference since winning the November election.

Trump started by slamming reports claiming that Russia has compromising personal and financial information about him asfake news.

Russian officials deny the report.

Trump spokesman Sean Spicer started the press conference criticizing Buzzfeed.com story about the intelligence report.

Spicer said the report from the left-wing blog isoutrageous and highlight irresponsible.

Russian officials deny the report.

This is an evident attempt to harm our bilateral ties, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters in Moscow. The Kremlin does not engage in collecting compromising information.

After news reports were published about the briefing,Trump tweeted: FAKE NEWS - A TOTAL POLITICAL WITCH HUNT!

Trump also said he expects to name a replacement for Associate Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia within two weeks of taking office.

Trump"s business will continue to pursue deals in the United States, though not abroad, while he is president, and he will relinquish control of the company, according to a lawyer who worked with the Trump Organization on the plan.

Trump: I think it"s a disgrace that information would be let out.

Trump will put his business assets in a trust and take other steps to isolate himself from his company, said the lawyer, who spoke to reporters before Trump"s first news conference since his election Nov. 8. The lawyer requested anonymity to discuss details of the plan.

The move appears to contradict a previous pledge by Trump, who pledged in a tweet last month to do "no new deals" while in office.

To help allay concerns about conflicts of interest, Trump will hand managerial control of his company to his two adult sons and a longtime business executive. The lawyer who advised Trump also said that the Trump Organization will appoint an ethics adviser to its management team who must approve deals that could raise concerns about conflicts.

Trump also took questions about his cabinet picks and how the confirmation hearings are going.

Trumps pick for attorney general, Sen. Jeff Sessions, used strong words in the first day of his Senateconfirmation hearings to deny any hints of a racist past. Today, a group of black lawmakers will speak out against his nomination including New Jersey Democrat Cory Booker, who will take the rare step of testifying against a current Senate colleague.

Hearings on Trumps nominee for secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, began today. You can get live updates from the hearings here

Fox News Quietly Settles Sexual Harassment Suit Former Host Juliet Huddy Filed Against Bill O"Reilly: Report

Juliet Huddy, Kerry Drew, Teresa Priolo, Ines Rosales & Rosanna Scotto (9-07-16)

Around the same time that Roger Ailes stepped down from his role as Fox News CEO in July amid Gretchen Carlsons sexual harassment lawsuit, the network had been hit with yet another sexual misconduct allegation this time against host Bill OReilly and Fox News Co-President Jack Abernethy.

Fox News cameto a quiet settlement after former host Juliet Huddy claimed sexual harassment against the networks top host and a longtime executive, according to Lawnewz.com.

According to an intent to sue letter obtained by the site, Huddy, 47, claimed thatOReilly propositioned her on multiple occasions, including attemptingto kiss her during a visit tohis home and making inappropriate phone calls to her.

In the letter, Huddysaid when she refused to comply with OReillys advances, she was booted from the show despite having one of the highest rated segments, the site states.

As for Abernethy (who was recentlyappointed co-president of Fox News), Huddy claimed that he constantly calledher at the office and asking her to come by his office.

According to the site, Huddy, through her attorney, sent Fox News thenotice several weeks after Ailes was ousted from the network in July.

In a statement to PEOPLE, a Fox News spokesperson noted, Juliet Huddys letter of intent to sue contained substantial falsehoods which both men vehemently denied.

A person briefed on the situation said that the company was aware of Huddys false allegations when they signed Abernethy to a new multi-year deal in September 2016.

Jeanne M. Christensen, a lawyer for Ms. Huddy at Wigdor L.L.P., declined to comment.

Huddy, who joined Fox in 1998, made her exit from Fox News in July 2016 and moved toFox-owned New York affiliate Fox 5 New York, where she anchored the 4:30 a.m. time slot.

Her departure came as a bit of a shock, considering her close relationship with Ailes. On the same day that she announced her departure from Fox News, the former host took to social media to express gratitude to Ailes.

Thank you, Roger Ailes for being a wonderful boss and mentor. I will always appreciate what youve done for me. Again, THANK YOU, she tweeted in July.

But Huddys time at Fox 5 New York was short-lived. The anchor left the network in early September.

I finally after years of working in television understand what it feels to be connected to a community, she said during herlast morning segmenton Fox 5. It is time for me now to move on.

Huddy has yet address the allegations publicly.

"This Is Us" Ratings Hit New Series High, "The Mick" Slips In Week 2 As Obama Farewell Dominates

This Is Us - A Father/Son Initiation (Episode Highlight)

UPDATE, 9:51 AM: Back for the first time in five weeks, it was a very good night for This Is Us on Tuesday with President Barack Obamas farewell address as a lead-in.

Moved to 10 PM for the POTUS speech, the breakout NBC drama scored a 3.0 rating among adults 18-49 in Nielsen fast officials a series high for the Dan Fogelman created series. Thats a bop up of 7% in the key demo from the December 6 airing of the Sterling K. Brown and Mandy Moore starring show, the previous high. It is also up 15% from the unadjusted fast affiliates of earlier this morning.

The top show of the night, including the Presidential address, This Is Us is the best NBC has done in the slot with a scripted show since the 3.1 rating that Parenthood pulled in on March 2, 2010. With 10.5 million viewers watching across the county, This Is Us is also the best the net has done in total audience in the 10 PM time period since June 2, 2009 when Law & Order: SVU scored 11.566 million viewers.

With all that, This Is Us moves back to its regular 9 PM time slot next week.

PREVIOUSLY, 9:16 AM: After a strong showing following the NFL playoff doubleheader last week Foxs comedy The Mick (1.1) dropped two-tenths of a point in the 18-49 demo Tuesday on a night that was dominated by President Barack Obamas farewell speech from Chicago. The Mick, which drew 3.0 million viewers at 8:30, matched its lead-in New Girl (1.1) this time after building on it last week as the networks highest-rated show of the night.

The show meanwhile was given an additional four-episode order today after that special premiere after football on January 1 drew a 3.7 rating, the best comedy debut on Fox since New Girl.

Airing at 9 PM ET, Obamas speech was carried on all Big 4 networks and in non-time-zone-adjusted fast nationals drew 24 million viewers (those will adjust later). The speech, which clocked 50 minutes, forced broadcasters to shift around their primetime schedules in the hour when it was announced.

The speech did throw a wrench in the reporting for NBCs breakout freshman drama This Is Us, which returned after its winter break. It aired at 9 PM on the West Coast and 10 in the East Coast, so fast nationals are not reliable as it aired out of pattern. Still, it will be the highest-rated entertainment show of Tuesday. At 8 PM, NBCs The Wall (1.7) was steady with its strong showing last week in the game shows regular time slot.

ABC went with its comedy block of The Middle (1.7, even) at 8 and American Housewife (1.5, down a tenth) at 8:30. CBS aired repeats of NCIS at 8, and a Big Bang Theory/NCIS: New Orleans combo following the speech.

The CW aired No Tomorrow (0.2), which did not get a back order, during the speech.

Khaidi No. 150: The Boss is back and how! - Times of India

Khaidi No 150 Pre-Release Function LIVE || Mega Star Chiranjeevi || Kajal Aggarwal || V V Vinayak
"Etthina prati velu muduchukovali. Jarina prati noru moosukovali," thundered Allu Arjun, speaking at the pre-release event of Khaidi No 150. His message was for the naysayers: After the film hits the screens, every finger that was pointed (at Chiru i.e.) will be folded back in and all the taunts heaped will fall silent.

Well, the sheer scale of Chiru"s landmark 150th film proves beyond doubt that his decade-long hiatus from the silverscreen hasn"t diminished his crowd-pulling ability one bit. The figures tell the story.

The film is releasing in about 325 theatres in Nizam (Telangana) region - that"s close to 70% of the total screens in the whole state. The movie is opening to 300 shows in Hyderabad alone on January 11, the day of the release. Most screens are running housefull, says leading distributor Sunil Narang.

Infact, the euphoria surrounding the film has crossed international borders as well. The film is releasing in over 2,500 screens across the world. Several construction companies in the Gulf have declared a holiday on Wednesday. The Mega fans in Omaha (USA) held a car rally to promote the release recently. In Texas, fans booked an array of buses that will parade in the honour of the Megastar. Looks like Sankranti came early for Chiru"s fans.

Produced by Ram Charan and presented by Surekha Konidela under Konidela Production Company, Khaidi No 150 releases today. And Charan is more than chuffed. "I don"t think there is any word in English language that can describe the euphoria surrounding film aptly. All I can say is that this is a reflection of the unconditional love and support. A big thank you to the Telugu film lovers. I am overwhelmed," says Ram Charan.
