Rolling Loud 2017 Lineup Is a Hypebeast"s Dream: Kendrick Lamar, Future, Lil Wayne, and Others

Rolling Loud Recap

Ready for Rolling Loud"s 2017 lineup?

Courtesyof Dope Entertainment

Its 8:18 p.m. and Im on Instagram minding my own business (stalking someone I met at Sidebar), and then I"m tagged with yet another flyer. I don"t give a f**k, I think. But then I determine it"s Dope Entertainments annualhip-hop music festival,Rolling Loud.

And the lineup is stacked. Hundreds of comments begin pouring under the post. They"re from hypebeasts with their parents" money, gold-diggers with an agenda, and photographers who just have to be there. And then theres me, a fan of Jazz Cartier, who appeared last year like Christ himself.

When it comes to underground hip-hop shows in Miami, I already know what to expect: an extensive lineup of people I dont know, someone blowing cheap marijuana in my face, and about 13 people rocking a collapsing stage. Thankfully, since the first Rolling Loud in 2015,it has been better than that. We can look forward to one h**l of a lineup at its new Bayfront Park location May 5 through 7.

Known for throwing hip-hop shows anywhere from Orlando to Tampa to Miami, the founders of Dope Entertainment Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif plan to give Miami more than just your average s****y rap show. Bayfront is a venue we"ll be able to grow within for years to come, Cherif said in a recent interview. In the past, the duo has been criticized for the fest"s lack of structure, pay-for-play tactics, poor sound quality, and flooding. But this year, attendees can expect even bigger production and a smoother ticketing process than last years festival.

The lineup includes hip-hop favorites Kendrick Lamar, Future, A$AP Rocky, Lil Wayne, Young Thug, and Travis Scott, along with local acts Robb Bank$, Denzel Curry, IndigoChildRick, and Kodak Black, if he doesnt go back to jail for a pending charge.

The festival will span two stages and three days, topping last years two days. There"s more ground to cover and a larger production spaceat Bayfront Park than there was during the last edition at Mana Wynwood.

Here"s the full 2017 Rolling Loud lineup:

  • Kendrick Lamar
  • Future
  • Lil Wayne
  • A$AP Rocky
  • Travis Scott
  • Young Thug
  • Mac Miller

73 Questions With Emma Stone | Vogue

For as much as La La Land is a throwback to the mainstage musicals of yore, star emma stone has the trappings of a starlet who shines brightest when playing characters caught in the sometimes bracing glow of the footlights.

But the silver screen has always served as a siren song for the native of Scottsdale, Ariz., who at 14 pitched her parents a Power Point presentation aimed at relocating to California where she could pursue a career in acting, a dream she made reality in 2004.

Jon Stewart"s epic Twitter-war with Donald Trump

"LA FWAY" — A Bad Lip Reading of BeyoncĂ©

Speaking at the Stand Up For Heroes event, Jon Stewart tells the story of how Donald Trump went on an anti-Semitic tear, repeating over and over that Stewart"s birth surname was Leibowitz, implying that he"d changed it to disguise his Jewish ancestry.

As Stewart points out, the fact that he is Jewish is incredibly obvious. After a ton of this, Stewart took up the gauntlet, tweeting that Trump"s real name was "Fuckface von Clownstick."

If there"s one thing we learned from the presidential debates, it"s that Trump will rise to bait. And he did -- boy, did he...

ESPN"s Brent Musburger is retiring from sportscasting at 77

Brent Musburger After Nearly 50 Years Of Sportscasting

brent musburger, one of the most famous sports announcers of all time, announced Wednesday that he will retire from play-by-play work after he calls the Georgia-Kentucky college basketball game on ESPN on Jan. 31.

Musburger, 77, said hes leaving active sportscasting to help his family get a sports handicapping business started and to use some of the millions of airline miles hes earned for fun travel. He is retiring in the middle of the season in order to have his handicapping business running before the NCAA mens basketball tournament in March.

What a wonderful journey I have traveled with CBS and the Disney company, Musburger said in a statement. A love of sports allows me to live a life of endless pleasure. And make no mistake, I will miss the arenas and stadiums dearly. Most of all, I will miss the folks I have met along the trail.

But the next rodeo for me is in Las Vegas. Stop by and well share a cold one and some good stories. I may even buy!

Both Musburger and ESPN say hiscomments about Oklahoma football player Joe Mixonthat were criticized as insensitive during theSugar Bowlearlier this month had nothing to do with his exit. Musburger said he hoped Mixon, who had been suspended for a year after punching a woman and breaking her jaw, would make the most of his second chance and did not initially talk about his victim.

Brent made every event feel larger, Stephanie Druley, ESPN senior vice president for events and studio production, told the Associated Press. To me, there is probably not a greater storyteller as a play-by-play person. He can spin a yarn like nobody else, and it made games definitely more enjoyable to watch.

Since 1968, Musburger has called or been a part of almost every major sporting event at least once. His rsumincludes the Super Bowl, the NBA Finals, the Final Four, golfs Masters, the Rose Bowl, the World Cup, the Indy 500, the College Football Championship, the Little League World Series and tennis U.S. Open.

ESPN President John Skipper said in a statement Tuesday, Brents presence and delivery have come to symbolize big time sports for multiple generations of fans. When he opens with his signature You are looking live, you sit up straight in your chair because you know something important is about to happen We and the fans will miss him.

Musburger began his career in local television in 1968. In 1973, he joined CBS Sports as part of its NFL team and became the networks primary play-by-play caller in 1975 before moving to ABC and ESPN in 1990.

His career was not without controversy. While hosting NFL Today in 1980, Musburger got into a physical altercation at a bar with the shows betting advisor, Jimmy The Greek Snyder. The two quickly patched things up and appeared on the next edition of the show wearing boxing gloves.

During the 2013 college football championship game between Alabama and Notre Dame, Katherine Webb, the girlfriend of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron, was shown on camera. Musburger, calling the game for ESPN,said, Im telling you, you quarterbacks get all the good-looking women. What a beautiful woman. Wow!ESPN apologized for his comments, saying they went too far, though Webb came to his defense, saying she was not bothered by his words.

Not everyone approved of everything I said, Musburger said Tuesday. I understand that. I come from a sportswriting background, and Im not afraid to take a position on certain things from time to time. But for the most part, I thought people should be coming to a game to escape for three hours and forget about what their individual problems are.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Dow Jones Industrial Average Closes Above 20K for 1st Time

The Cow Guy on the Dow Jones hitting 20,000

The Dow Jones industrial average hit a major milestone today, closing above 20,000 points for the first time.

Investors pushed stocks higher after strong earnings reports and the market continued to be buoyed by President Donald Trump"s vow to cut regulations for businesses and slash corporate tax rates.

The Dow gained 155.8 points to close out the trading session at 20,068.51. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq composite joined the Dow in closing at all-time highs.

The benchmark index has staged a remarkable comeback since losing almost half its value after the financial crisis in 2008.

the dow has been flirting with the 20,000 mark for weeks and has continued to rally since Trump"s election in November.

After erupting in cheers at the crossing of the 20,000-point threshold during the market"s opening bell, some traders at the New York Stock Exchange also donned "Dow 20,000" hats to mark the occasion.

George Orwell"s "1984" hits bestseller list again

SWING《1984》[Lyrics MV]
Story highlights
  • Orwell"s famed book rose to No. 6 on Amazon"s bestseller list
  • The book imagines propaganda in an authoritarian state
The famed dystopian novel of life in a totalitarian state sat at No. 6 on Amazon"s bestseller list Tuesday morning. On Monday, too, the book hovered between No. 5 and No. 7 on that same bestseller list, as CNN"s Brian Stelter noted in his Reliable Sources newsletter.

First published in 1949 and imagining a future authoritarian society, "1984" is widely regarded as one of the most influential novels of the 20th century. Its state, Oceania, employs a language called Newspeak (and words like "doubleplusgood") to limit freedom of thought.

The book focuses in particular on the impact of omnipresent government surveillance and the state"s use of propaganda to enforce orthodoxy to an all-powerful leader, known as "Big Brother."

The novel"s newfound popularity comes several days after White House press secretary Sean Spicer argued defiantly that Trump"s swearing-in Friday drew the largest-ever audience for an inauguration "period," despite obvious photo and statistical evidence to the contrary.

Senior Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway later defended that argument by saying Spicer"s false claims were actually "alternative facts."

That phrasing was reminiscent of Orwell"s "Ministry of Truth," which, he wrote, concerns itself with "lies."

The book"s bestseller status isn"t necessarily just due to Team Trump, as "1984" remains required reading in most schools.

The Amazon bestseller list is updated hourly, so "1984"s" time near the top may not last long. It currently sits just after Connor Franta"s "Note to Self" and before Margot Lee Shetterly"s "Hidden Figures."

This isn"t the first time "1984" has seen a sales spike in recent years. The book also hit Amazon"s bestseller list in 2013 after Edward Snowden revealed the extent of the National Security Agency"s surveillance program.

Denver Secret Service agent Facebook post says she wouldn"t protect Trump

DENVER (CBS4) The special agent in charge of the Secret Services Denver district is taking heat over a social media post suggesting she wouldnt take a bullet for President Donald Trump and the Secret Service told CBS4 they are taking the appropriate action.

According to multiple reports, Secret Service special agent in charge Kerry OGrady made some posts on Facebook that were anti-Trump in nature.

Kerry OGrady (credit: LinkedIn)

The Washington Examiner reported one of OGradys Facebook posts last October stated Im with her, referring to Hillary Clinton, and said she would take jail time over a bullet or an endorsement for what I believe to be disaster to this country.

OGrady also mentioned the Hatch Act, which restricts employees with the Secret Service and other executive government branches from engaging in some types of political activities.

As a public servant for nearly 23 years, I struggle not to violate the Hatch Act. So I keep quiet and skirt the median, she wrote, according to the Washington Examiner.

On Monday OGrady told the Washington Examiner she took down the post after two to three days of greater reflection and wasnt trying to imply she wouldnt take a bullet for Trump.

OGrady oversees coordination for presidential trips to the Denver area.

Statement To CBS4 From The Secret Service

The U.S. Secret Service is aware of the postings and we are taking the appropriate action. This is a personnel matter and we will not be commenting further.

All Secret Service agents and employees are held to the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct. Any allegations of misconduct are taken seriously and swiftly investigated.
