Hannah Jeter Didn"t Watch Baseball Before Derek | TMZ Sports
On Monday, Derek Jeter"s wife Hannah announced that she is expecting a daughter.
In other words: Yes, Jeter will be a father.
And as with Jeter"s engagement announcement, the news came in an otherwise inconspicuous article on The Players" Tribune. Written by Hannah and titled, "The Derek I Know," the post describes the early days of the couple"s relationship and how she eventually grew to realize she was dating Derek Jeter. And then, two-thirds of the way through, she drops a bombshell:
"Now, pregnant with our first child, Derek and I are looking to the future."
Talk about burying the lede.
Read more about the Jeters" news here, and stay tuned for a name reveal, which we assume will come in a post about jeter"s favorite taco truck in New York City. Although, according to Hannah, he already has one picked out:
"He already has a name in mind - he"s set on it. (We"ll see.)"

Water began spilling over the Oroville Dam emergency spillway Saturday morning as Lake Oroville reached full capacity and water outflows by way of the damaged spillway were decreased.
As of noon Saturday, the California Department of Water Resources believes water will continue to spill over the emergency spillway for the next 38 to 56 hours.
This is the first time the uncontrolled emergency spillway has been used in the dam"s 48-year history and can only happen once the lake reaches full capacity at 901 feet elevation. Flows over this secondary chute will likely range between 6,000 and 12,000 cfs, the California Department of Water Resources said.
DWR posted aerials images and video of the emergency spillway.
The flows were seeing are extremely low compared to the design of the structure, DWR Acting Director William Croyle said. Based on our current situation, there is no threat.
DWR is continuously monitoring the damaged spillway to ensure no more erosion occurs. They are letting out 55,000 cfs on the spillway to prevent further erosion to it.
Croyle"s objective is to have a new or repaired spillway in place before the next wet season, hopefully by October.
He added that crews will have to turn off the spillway during the next dry period to fix the eroded spillway. During this process, water may flow over the emergency spillway again, Croyle said. He added that this has to be done to ensure more water can be released from the damaged spillway in the future.
DWR focused their attention Saturday on ways to get the Hyatt Power Plant back in operation. The power generation was halted when the water levels in the channel, which lead from the power plant, became high enough to compromise operation, DWR said.
The department added that the water levels rose when debris from the eroded concrete spillway piled up in the channel below. The same erosion also threatened the towers that hold the power lines that take electricity from the power plant to the electrical grid, DWR said.
"DWR, Pacific Gas & Electric Company and other partners are working to safeguard the hydroelectric facility and power lines," the department said.

Inflow and outflow levels at Lake Oroville, as of 8 a.m. Saturday.
The total flows between the two spillways will not exceed 65,000 cfs over the next 24-48 hours, the County of Sutter Office of Emergency Managament said. The total flow is lower than the amount of water currently in the Feather River.
Although inflows decreased Friday and into Saturday morning to 83,600 cubic feet per second, of 10 a.m., water officials have also decreased outflows from the damaged spillway to 55,000 cfs, according to DWR.
There are no flood concerns or concerns for the structural integrity of the Oroville Dam. The outflows from the lake are expected to remain well within the downstream flood system capacity on the Feather River, according to DWR.
The total flow of water from the reservoir between both the spillways is expected to be much less -- 65,000 cfs -- than what the river can handle over the next 24 to 48 hours and is consistent with releases made at this time of year, the DWR said.
"While DWR does not expect flows to exceed downstream channel carrying capacity, the rate of flow into the ungated emergency spillway may change quickly," the department said in a released statement Saturday morning.
Water officials debated back and forth since discovering the spillway erosion hole Tuesday morning as to whether the lake would reach levels that would allow the emergency spillway to be used.
At noon Friday, DWR officials believed it was less likely that the emergency spillway would be used, based on the amount of water that was being let out in comparison to how much was coming in. But by Friday night, they anticipated it would again be used as officials cut back the outflows through the damaged spillway.
Crews began working Wednesday to clear out trees and vegetation below the uncontrolled spillway to reduce the amount of debris that flows into the Feather River.

Lions try to chew on an armour-plated Pangolin - India Authorities are investigating another display online of what is believed to be a dish cooked using endangered pangolins in southern China, according to local media. The State Forestry Administration, which regulates the protection of endangered animals, said they had been informed of the photos posted on Weibo and were investigating the matter in Guangdong, The Beijing News reported. Probe launched over claims endangered pangolin served at banquet to Chinese officials The incident comes after a probe was launched last week following allegations that local government officials had been served pangolin at a banquet also attended by a Hong Kong businessman. In the latest case, the Weibo user shared photos of three "pangolin dishes" in September 2011. His account shows he resides in Shenzhen, Guangdong province. The photos showed what the internet user claimed to be a soup made from eight kinds of animals, including "pangolin, snake and swan", as well as a dish he described as "pangolin-blood fried rice". Another picture, uncaptioned, showed a pot with many slices of cooked meat that resembled the scales on a pangolin. In another post on the same account in March 2012, the Weibo user wrote: "The hospitable chef Liao got people to prepare the mushroom and pangolin soup four hours in advance. [It was] very delicious!" Pangolins are being "eaten to extinction": conservationists He later deleted the photos after they drew hundreds of critical comments lambasting him for consuming the endangered animal.
How Verizon Wireless is Ripping You Off | November 2016
Data breaches are hitting every level of companies today, and retailers must be prepared to respond to an attack.
Those are among the conclusions of the just-released second edition of the Verizon Data Breach Digest, which reveals the impact of data breaches on compromised companies while also offering various scenarios to help retailers reduce risk and properly respond.
Authors of the report noted that data breaches are becoming more complex and are no longer confined to just the IT department but are now affecting every department within an organization. Each breach leaves a lingering, if not lasting imprint on an enterprise.
John Grim, senior manager of investigative response at verizon and one of the authors of the 100-page report, told WWD that his team of investigators analyzed global data attacks to come up with 16 various breach scenarios that include industry type, stakeholder involvement and incident patterns. Over 500 incidents were reviewed that occurred in 40 countries. Its based on our experiences with prior breaches, and we wanted to take what we learned from our investigations to inform the digest, he noted.
In the retail sector, about90 percent of security incidents involve denial of service, point of sale or an app attack. Sixty-four percent of incidents at retail are point of sales types.Attackers were often able to compromise systemsin hours or less, noted researchers in a prior Verizon report. But in 79 percent of cases, it took retail organizationsweeks or more to discover a breach had occurred.
Grim also noted the prevalence of people in regard to attacks. Humans continue to play a significant role in data breaches and cyber security incidents, fulfilling the roles of threat actors, targeted victims and incident response stakeholders, the report said, while Grim addedattacks at retail can involve the entire c-suite as well as the human resources department.
Bryan Sartin, executive director of Verizons Research, Investigations, Solutions and Knowledge Team, described data breaches as growing in complexity and sophistication.
In working with victim organizations, we find that breaches touch every part of an organization up to and including its board of directors, Sartin said. Companies need to be prepared to handle data breaches before they actually happen in order to recover as quickly as possible. Otherwise, breaches can lead to enterprise-wide damage that can have devastating and long-lasting consequences such as a loss of customer confidence or a drop in stock price.
Sartin said the digest can help businesses and government organizations understand how to identify signs of a data breach, important sources of evidence and ways to quickly investigate, contain and recover from a breach.
For each scenario, you go through a detailed analysis of how the attack occurred, level of sophistication, threat actors involved, tactics and techniques used and recommended countermeasures, the authors of the report noted. Some examples of the various scenarios and related attacks include the Absolute Zero attack spurred by a disgruntled employee and the Indignant Mole attack, which was a business partner misuse case.
Those two types of attacks were classified as human element ones. Other classifications include conduit devices, exploitation of software and malicious software. With the latter, attacks cited included the Fetid Cheez breach and the Polar Vortex attack.
Regarding response tactics after an attack, Verizons RISK team suggested that companies preserve evidence, [and] consider consequences of every action taken; be flexible, [and] adapt to evolving situations; establish consistent methods for communication; know your limitations, [and] collaborate with other key stakeholders; document actions and findings, [and] be prepared to explain them.

Adele Gana Grande, Llora y Hace Llorar a Beyonce en Grammys 2017
The polar stars of the 2017 Grammys provided two of the telecasts most memorable performances, one acelestial dream of near perfection, the other endearingly human.
Anyone wondering whether Beyonc"s just-announced pregnancy would take away from her ability to perform as vividly as we"ve come to expect gottheir answer Sunday night when the singer delivered a stunning rendition of her songs "Love Drought" and "Sandcastles.
Dressed in a flowing gown and elaborate head piece, Beyoncmoved slowly but surely down a long runway surrounded by female dancers, then took a seat in a wooden chair that reclined nearly 90degrees over empty space all while she continued to sing powerfully and with palpable emotion in her voice.
The performance was a masterful showof strength and delicacy, intelligence and feeling one she pulled off not in spite of her changingbody, but because of it.
GRAMMYS FULL COVERAGE: Adele wins big but still bows toBeyonc
Adele, meanwhile, came out strong, opening the show with a confident performances of Hello, which went on to win song of the year. But during her tribute to the late singer George Michael, she flubbed and had to startagain.
Well into Michael"s 1996 song "Fastlove," the singer paused and, with a look of sorrow on her face, cussed and said, "I"m sorry for swearing and I"m sorry for starting again. Can we please start again?"
The restart was worth it Adele went on to nail the song but when the performance was over, the Grammy winnerput her hands over her face the moment the lights went down and shook her head.
Both the resplendent Queen Bey and the chagrined Adele were met by cheering crowds and the requisite Twitter storm of devotion.
Bruno brings it. Twice.
Pity poor Bruno Mars, tasked with following up what was perhaps the finest Grammy performance in a generation. But if anyone had a prayer of playing live after Beyonc without instantly vaporizing into total cosmic insignificance, it was probably Bruno Mars.
Theres nothing one can really do to follow up on a nine-minute medley of mind-erasing pregnancy holograms and chair-tilt stunts, so Mars instead did what he does best: corral his bros, throw on some gold chains and play his new pitch-perfect "80s funk pastiche with aplomb. Thats What I Like is a great, slow rolling slice of his recent affection for Zapp and Gap Band (so much so that the lattersued him).
When he played it for the still-stunned-by-Bey Grammy crowd, he pulled the not-insignificant feat of reminding viewers why hes one of the most endearing, charismatic performers in pop.
And then he did it again, returning to the stage an hour later in full Prince regalia to pay tribute to one of the industrys greatest losses of the year.
The thing about Mars is, hes got a similar mix of instrumental chops, stage presence and deftness with electro-funk that made Prince so exalted. Add a kickoff set from the Time, favored collaborators of the Purple One, for a medley of Jungle Love/The Bird into Lets Go Crazy, and it all adds up to an homage thats not just respectful, but flat-out fun and worthy of the benefactor.
A Tribe calls Resist
Among the many inspiring artists died in 2016, the loss of rapper Phife Dawg hit the hip-hop community hard. As co-founder of A Tribe Called Quest, he helped createclassics of the genre including "People"s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm," "Midnight Marauders" and "The Low End Theory."
When his co-founders Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Q-Tip landed onstage withBusta Rhymes andnew artist nominee Anderson .Paak to pay tribute, Q-Tip gestured toward an empty microphone and dedicated the performance to Phife.
And although the tribute featured Tribetracks like "Movin" Backwards" and "Award Tour," it focused on the new "We the People." A timely song, particularly in light of recent changes to U.S.immigration policies, its chorus jumped out of the speakers:
"All the black folks, you must go/All the Mexicans, you must go/All the poor folks, you must go/ Muslims and gays, we hate your ways/ See all you bad folks you must go."
But it was the roar of Busta Rhymes that made the biggestimpression. Decrying "President Agent Orange,"he and the others crashed through a makeshift wall.
At the end, with the people alongside him onstage, Q-Tip screamed, "Resist! Resist! Resist!"
Youre going to know my name
James Cordengently mocked Grammy winner Sturgill Simpson for being the name that would send the most viewers to search engines to find out who exactly he was. With a performance backed by the Dap-Kings horns, Simpson provided an answer.
Simpson leaned into "All Around You" from his nominated "A Sailor"s Guide to Earth," and his weathered voice soared atop the brassy backdrop provided by the longtime collaborators with the late Sharon Jones (who presenter Dwight Yoakam paid tribute to in his introduction).
While it may have been entirely on-brand for the grammysto have asked Simpson to perform something from Jones" catalog, the rising country star"s performance pointed toward what those who could already identify Simpson already knew -- that he has a perfectly defttouch with brassyR&Bin his own right.
And, one assumes, a very busy Wikipedia page.
Daft Punk and the art of the backup
The last time Daft Punk was on a Grammy stage, the act wasplaying alongside Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers and Stevie Wonder just before accepting the album of the year award in2014 for Random Access Memories.
This time, the French duo washappy to play backup to the Weeknd for an icy rendition of I Feel It Coming, one of the standout collaborations from the latters LP Starboy.
The trio played in front of a frigid interstellar setup that was part vintage KanyeWest mountain range and part Hoth from Star Wars.
It didnt have quite the vocal pyrotechnicsof Adeles opening numberor much more live instrumentation than a little robot keyboard poking.Daft Punk, much to the chagrin of fans, has pretty much stuck to awards shows for live appearances since Random Access Memories brought the duo back to prominence.
But itsstint with the Weeknd has been an interesting case of perhaps the most famous act in electronic music willfully hanging back and adding analog sparkle to his nihilism.

Stephen Fry
London: Comedian Stephen Fry, host of the 70th British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards, took a dig at US President Donald Trump at the gala here on Sunday, calling him a "blithering idiot".
After an on-stage performance by Cirque du Soleil to open the show at the Royal Albert Hall here, Fry made his opening remarks. While welcoming Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep to the ceremony, he said Streep was "one of the greatest actresses of all-time, reports variety.com.
"Only a blithering idiot would think otherwise," Fry added.
The comment was in reference to Trump"s comment that Streep is one of the most "overrated actresses" after her speech at the 74th Golden Globes ceremony last month.
