Evensome celebrities have found spas to be incredibly awkward. Especially when fans are involved.
In an interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Wednesday,Orphan Black starTatiana Maslany recalled a particularly weirdmoment while among a group of n***d women at a spa.
"We"re all n***d," she said. "We"re all in a cold plunge, which is like freezing polar water that you have to sit in for a minute. You go into the sauna, then you go into the hot plunge, then you go into the cold plunge. I was like freezing and holding my body and [this woman] was like, "Uh, are you that Orphan girl?" I was like, "[shivering] Oh yes, yes I am," and she"s like, "I heard that show"s really weird.""
"I was like, "Yeah." She"s like, "I haven"t seen it." I was like, "Oh, that"s fine, no worries," like, covering my like, shriveling body parts," she said. "It was horrible."

First of all, there were really beautiful Indian women, so already I was like, "Maybe I"m regretting this." And then I"m watching Chan be mortifiedthis is the funniest partbecause I"m sitting there in the steam so I go first and I"m like, "Oh, he has no idea."

He said his wife coaxed him to go get a facial. When he arrived at the spa, a female worker told him to get undressed, put on a robe and get into a hot tub. He sat there in the immensely hot water, after whichthe womanturnedoff the bubbles and started scrubbing him with loofa gloves and soap. She then hosed him off with ice water and told him to meet her in a massage room.

She"s boiled me like a clam," Bateman said. "I go down and I take a knee, because I feel like the lights might go out and I want to get closer to the ground. I see a chair in the corner. I start to shimmy over there on my knees, and that"s the last I remember. Now I"m done. I"m out. I"m completely dehydrated and I"m unconscious."

"The Good Fight" Recap: On the Other Side
The Good Fight - The Schtup List (Preview)
Thats a question that also lingers in Dianes story. At the beginning of the episode, we see her decide to retire from the firm she created, buy a villa and start a new life. At her lavish retirement party, she even jokes, Its good to be wanted. Colleagues compliment her legacy by offering her positions at their firms, should she ever decide to return to work.
But after losing her money in the ponzi scheme, it becomes clear to her just how fickle her connections and friendships are in the face of tragedy. Shes broke, going through a difficult separation, and the firm that bears her name wont welcome her back. Baranski expertly explores the cracks in Dianes carefully curated facade without making her into a spectacle; the stakes at this point in her life may be even higher than those Maia faces. When Adrian Boseman (Delroy Lindo) offers her a place to land, its a chance for Diane to rescue the legacy shes spent decades building.
Its also a chance for her to rescue her protgs career, and despite the fallout from the Ponzi scheme, Diane sympathizes with Maias position and convinces Boseman to take her on, too. Maias start is hardly auspicious. But after being accosted at work by an angry man who says he lost his money because of her father, she finds an unlikely ally in Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo). Lucca was on the opposing team during the police brutality case and seems only mildly intrigued by Maias presence at best. But he was instrumental behind the scenes in getting Diane into the firm, and hence, in getting Maia in the door as well.
Lucca also gives a crying Maia some important advice that will ring true for many women. When they see you cry it makes them happy, she says, adding, Keep your head down and keep working.
Of The Good Fights three leads, Maia is set up to have the grandest arc. But its Lucca who proves the most fascinating. Shes steely and cunning with a presence that magnetizes, even if she is not the focal point of a scene. Cush Jumbo doesnt get the best material of the premiere but she leaves the biggest impression. Diane and Maia are both mired in the painful process of shifting their sense of self, given how much their identities are tied to the work they do. But its the identity politics Lucca must navigate as a black woman that will likely provide The Good Fight its richest material.
Other Gossip:
Like its predecessor, The Good Fight isnt a visual spectacle like prestige shows such as Legion or Atlanta. But director Brooke Kennedy is intelligent in how she frames her characters, creating a rich visual language that conveys the power of simplicity.
It is laughable how obviously The Good Fight was shot in New York, despite being set in Chicago.
Im intrigued with how the romantic and sexual dynamics of the show will play out, particularly between Maia and her girlfriend, Amy (Helne Yorke).
Im apprehensive about how the racial politics of The Good Fight will play out. Diane and Maia are effectively in the minority at Adrians firm, which is headed by exclusively black partners.
The racial dynamics of the police brutality case Dianes last assignment at the firm she created at times felt like the series was heading in troubling territory. There is a sharp visual divide between Bosemans all-black team, including Lucca on one side and the white lawyers on the other (including Diane, who is representing Cook Countys interests). But the fact that Lucca puts in a good word for Diane to one of the founding members of Bosemans firm, who is apprehensive about bringing on a white partner, suggests that the show will handle these complex issues better than its predecessor did.
The opening, with Diane watching in stunned silence as Donald Trump is sworn in as president, makes the shows politics and relevance undeniable.

Mining boom clean-up could cost taxpayers billions, says Australia ...
Billions | "The Krakow Play" Official Clip | Season 2 Episode 2
A scarcity of information about disused mine sites is leaving the public in the dark on the clean-up costs from New South Wales mining boom, a new report has found.
The report, released by the Australia Institute on Wednesday, attempted to analyse what was happening to operating, suspended, closed, rehabilitated, or abandoned mine sites across the state.
But it found that there were few reliable statistics available, despite the clean-up from NSWs mining boom potentially costing taxpayers billions.
the nsw auditor general examined the risk posed by disused mine sites in 2011.
The auditor-generals final report warned that the governments derelict mine program may represent the largest category of contamination liability for the New South Wales government.
Despite this, the Australia Institute said the NSWs division of resources and energy was only able to show one example of a mine site being successfully rehabilitated, and one site that was potentially in the final stages of closure.
The reports author, Roderick Campbell, said the paucity of information had shocked him.
He warned that, as the mining boom wound down, big players such as Rio Tinto, which tended to be relatively transparent and responsible, were leaving mine sites in the hands of less reputable, smaller operators, who may be unable to successfully rehabilitate the sites.
Thats the risk and, in the case of NSW, what the department says is that theyve assessed the rehabilitation costs and theyve got a bond for 100% of that amount, so theyre saying taxpayers are at zero per cent chance of paying, Campbell said.
But the problem is, what if theyre wrong, or what if community standards change? What if the Hunter decides actually we dont want 45 large, very saline holes in the ground now?
We really are on the hook for some pretty big liabilities.
The institutes report, titled Dark Side of the Boom, identified between 112 and 410 abandoned mine sites across the state, while between 85 and 109 mines remained active and 123 in suspended operations.
There was no example of an open-cut mine being successfully rehabilitated, the report said, despite the likelihood of at least 45 open-cut voids across NSW.
Campbell said the lack of any concrete example of open-cut rehabilitation cast doubt on the effectiveness of future clean-ups.
I mean it sends a terrible message, because what the industry says is, Well, none of our big open-cut mines are ready to close, so theres no example of it happening because weve just kept expanding and expanding them, he said.
But I dont think you can simultaneously claim that weve got this excellent record of rehabilitation, when theyve actually never done before what they say theyre going to do 45 times.
The report was largely compiled through correspondence with the NSW division of resources and energy over six months. It is one of a series of reports focussing on disused mine sites in various states and territories.
A national report, released to the ABC, suggested there were 60,000 abandoned mine sites across the country.
Campbell said the department had largely been well-meaning and that he did not suspect there was an active campaign not to release such data.
But he said he did not believe there was any incentive for government or industry to make such information public.
