Fans who were enjoying an inside glimpse at Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg"s marriage on their reality showDonnie Loves Jennywill have to deal without it for at least the time being.

In a new interview with the Chicago Tribune, McCarthy admitted that because of her teenage son, Evan, she and Wahlberg decided to temporarily suspend production on the show, which aired three seasons on A&E after their marriage in 2014.

"He doesn"t want film crews in his house and I can understand that, especially those teenage years,"she said of Evan, 14."We put a pin in (the show) and put it on hold."

Among the things the couple tackled on the show were their initial adjustments to married life together after their wedding in St. Charles, Illinois, dealing with mccarthy"s father mackey living with them, evan"s struggles as he grows up, Wahlberg"s being away on tour with New Kids on the Block, filming Blue Bloods, and helping expand his Wahlburgers business he shares with his brothers, and McCarthy"s career. They also tackled their move to St. Charles as well, where they live when their work commitments allow.

The pair"s show also came after the success of Wahlberg"s show with his brothers, Paul and Mark, and his mother, Alma, which chronicled their expansion plans for Wahlburgers, which has since expanded to 13 total in Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Canada.

It is unclear if and when the two may choose to resume filming the show, but fans of Mccarthy will see her again (likely with Wahlberg by her side), as she co-hosts New Year"s Rocking Eve in New York on New Year"s Eve night.

Barbara Tarbuck Dead: "General Hospital" Star Dies at 74

General Hospital star Barbara Tarbuck died at the age of 74 in L.A. on Monday, December 26, the Hollywood Reporter confirmed. Tarbuck"s daughter, producer Jennifer Lane Connolly, told the publication that the actress passed away of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disorder, a rare brain disease.

Tarbuck is best known for playing Lady Jane Jacks on the soap for more than a decade from 1996 to 2010. Other credits include NYPD Blue, Nip/Tuck, Glee, NCIS, The Golden Girls, Mad Men and Dexter. Her last acting role was in the 2015 comedy-drama Come Simi.

The Detroit native studied acting at Wayne State University in Michigan and later at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art on a Fulbright Scholarship.

Why a fight card on New Year"s Eve day in New York? WSOF execs explain

World Series of Fighting executives can recite by heart the multiple layers of questions which have filtered in ever since they decided to book a show on New Years Eve day in New York City.

Why go to New York City, just blocks away from times square, hours before new years Eve?

Why undertake the costs involved in renting out a venue like The Theater at Madison Square Garden?

Why hold a show just hours after the loaded up UFC 207 in Las Vegas, which features the return of Ronda Rousey?

Why blow through four championship fights all on the same show?

Even facing all these questions, though, company CEO Carlos Silva and president Ray Sefo are willing to double down on their gamble. If nothing else, even the fiercest critics have to give WSOF brass some credit for daring to put on their biggest and boldest promotion to date.

Thats how we wanted it, Silva told MMA Fighting. We wanted an event people will talk about, something which will resonate and give them all a reason to tune in.

WSOF 34 is no doubt the deepest event the company has ever endeavored. The NBC-telecast main card features three title fights: lightweight champion Justin Gaethje vs. Joao Zeferino; welterweight champ Jon Fitch vs. Jake Shields; and bantamweight champ Marlon Moraes vs. Josenaldo Silva. The NBCSN-broadcast undercard is headlined by middleweight champ and New York City native David Branch taking on Louis Taylor.

The way Silva sees it, the companys debut in midtown Manhattan needed to make a splash worthy of its location.

We wanted to put on an event so deep that fans go out of their way to watch it, Silva said. How many cards have four title fights? How many cards are loaded up with names you know deliver action every time out like Marlon Moraes and Justin Gaethje? People are already going to be talking about MMA anyway because of the UFC show, I think theyll be ready for more.

But why the Saturday afternoon time slot? Not only is WSOF the day after UFC 207, but it will also go head-to-head with the college football national semifinals.

The WSOF 34 NBC broadcast begins at 4 p.m. ET (1 p.m. PT). Silva wont put a number on what hed consider a successful rating, but he believes this is the right start time for a show on a day like Dec. 31.

Theres a huge audience out there on New Years Eve, Silva said. Youve got hardcore fight fans who are going to find us anyway. Youve got sports fans who are going to be watching the football game who turn over to us and like what they see. And were on early enough that well catch the people who have the holiday weekend off before they go out for the night. Plenty of people will be in front of their televisions. This is a time slot thats proven to do ratings and well prove it again.

WSOF postponed events scheduled for Nov. 12 and Dec. 3 before finalizing the Dec. 31 lineup. In the fight game, canceled dates tend to portend bad news. But WSOF executives insist the cancellations came in order to make a big splash in the Big Apple.

We have our dates scheduled out far in advance, Sefo said. So when we booked the Nov. 12 card, that was long before we knew of how big and monumental a card UFC 205 would be. Once that started to shape up, we realized there was no point going up against it. Im still a fight fan and I wanted to see the first MMA show at Madison Square Garden. I get it.

Then, once we canceled that, it all became about how big of a splash we could make on New Years Eve. [WSOF heavyweight champ] Blagoy Ivanov was supposed to headline [Dec. 3], and he got hurt, and we really didnt have another fight lined up, so it made sense to just go all out on Dec. 31.

At the end of the day, the WSOF types understand why criticism has come in over WSOF 34. They also know that you dont get ahead if you dont take a chance. Maybe WSOF 34 wont meet their expectations. But maybe they come out of this with a new New Years Eve tradition in mixed martial arts.

When I fought in Japan on New Years Eve, it was like no other, said Sefo, a former kickboxing standout. It was an event people looked forward to all year long. If this works, we can establish WSOF as the combat sports event to see on New Years Eve over here.

Alabama football: QB Jalen Hurts deftly handling himself on, off field

ATLANTA (AP) Jalen Hurts" go-karting trip with Alabama teammates hit a wall because things "kinda got a little hectic."

The team became surrounded by fans wanting pictures and autographs during a trip to Andretti Karting. One little kid dressed up as him for Halloween with pipe cleaners mimicking his long dreadlocks.

"That was cute to me," Hurts said.

No. 1 Alabama"s freshman quarterback has learned to deal with the trappings of being the starting quarterback for Nick Saban"s "Bama dynasty while learning to read defenses and master plays on the field. He"s led the Crimson Tide (13-0) into a playoff semifinals matchup with No. 4 Washington (12-1) in Saturday"s Peach Bowl at the Georgia Dome.

The 18-year-old Hurts is trying to join Oklahoma"s Jamelle Holieway as the only freshman quarterback to lead his team to a national championship.

"I"m not the type of guy to just say no no pictures, no autographs because that"s disrespectful," Hurts said. "You have to treat the fans the best way you can. But we have a security guard and I walk around with him when I know stuff is going to go down. And he said, "Look, Jalen I don"t have a problem at all with saying no." So I"m like, "It"s better coming from you than me.""

Facing the Huskies defense is tough enough, but Hurts is also navigating life as a celebrity figure among Alabama fans. Not that he"s complaining.

By all accounts, the Southeastern Conference"s offensive player of the year has handled the off-the-field challenges as well as he has the ones on the field. He has started the last 12 games and so solidified the job that the team"s other three quarterbacks are transferring after or, in Blake Barnett"s case, during the season.

So having to wear a hoodie around Tuscaloosa is a small price to pay, even if sometimes people still come up and tell him: "You can"t hide."

"I mean, it"s my lifestyle now," Hurts said. "I"m kinda getting used to it. It is what it is. I always embrace it, and here I am trying to embrace it."

His teammates and coaches embraced him quickly.

Offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin watched him throw at Channelview High School and says he came back telling Saban: "Coach, I think this guy"s a first-round draft pick."

Tight end O.J. Howard recalls watching Hurts talking to a strength coach on the sidelines during fall camp after throwing an interception and then coming right back and firing a touchdown pass.

"That"s when we found out he was just so composed, he didn"t let it rattle him or anything," Howard said. "He said, "I"m going to bounce back. I"m good.""

That, Howard said, is "when I thought I knew he was going to be the quarterback."

Hurts, who played for his father in high school, has already had the most prolific rushing season of any alabama qb, with 841 yards and 12 touchdowns. He"s also passed for 2,592 yards and 22 touchdowns against nine interceptions.

But he has failed to reach 175 passing yards in five of the Tide"s last seven games. Washington"s defense has picked apart more seasoned passers and leads the nation with 33 forced turnovers.

"If you get pressure on him he makes not the greatest decisions," Huskies cornerback Sidney Jones said. "But when he has time to set his feet he looks like a great quarterback."

Linebacker Keishawn Bierria calls Hurts a "super athletic" playmaker who benefits from a terrific supporting cast. The Huskies are hoping that they can benefit from his youth, even if Hurts does have 12 starts under his belt.

"You always want to try to get inside his head and rattle him," Bierria said. "But he has a great team surrounding him. It might be a little difficult but that"s our goal."

This time, there won"t be a security guard to fend them off.

Air Force RB Jacobi Owens Comments On Players Sitting Out Bowl Games

UNDATED (AP) Ranked teams are just 4-5 so far in the 2016-17 bowl schedule following a win by No. 16 Stanford and a loss by No. 24 Nebraska.

Solomon Thomas sacked Mitch Trubisky on a potential game-tying, two-point conversion try with 25 seconds left to secure Stanfords 25-23 triumph over North Carolina in the Sun Bowl at El Paso.

Bryce Love ran for 119 yards and grabbed a 49-yard touchdown pass while starting in place of Cardinal tailback Christian McCaffrey, who skipped the bowl game after entering the NFL draft.

Dallas Lloyd brought back his second interception of the game 19 yards for a touchdown that put Stanford ahead, 22-17.

Joshua Dobbs accounted for 409 total yards and four touchdowns to lead Tennessee to a 38-24 triumph over the Cornhuskers in the Music City Bowl. Dobbs threw for 291 yards and a TD and ran for 118 yards and three scores as the Volunteers beat a Big Ten team in a bowl for a third straight year.

Nebraska quarterback Ryker Fyfe threw two TD passes to Brandon Reilly and ran for a 9-yard TD with 10:02 left in the fourth to pull the Cornhuskers within 31-24.

In Fridays other bowl action:

Nick Chubb ran for 142 yards and a touchdown to power Georgia past tcu 31-23 in the liberty bowl and give the Bulldogs a bowl victory for the third straight year.

Georgia finished 8-5. The Dawgs restored some pride to the Southeastern Conference. The SEC had entered the day with a 1-4 bowl record, a major step back for a league that had gone 9-2 in bowl games last year to set a record for bowl victories.

The Bulldogs had won the Belk Bowl two seasons ago and the TaxSlayer Bowl last year. Georgias latest bowl victory sent TCU to only its third losing year in Gary Pattersons 16 full seasons as coach. TCU finished 6-7.

In other bowls:

Stanford held off North Carolina 25-23 to win the Sun Bowl. Bryce Love took over for the absent Christian McCaffrey in the Stanford backfield, running for 119 yards and catching a 49-yard touchdown pass for the Cardinal.

Stanford held on after North Carolina pulled within two with 25 seconds left on Mitch Trubiskys 2-yard pass to Bug Howard, sacking Trubisky on the 2-point conversion try.

McCaffrey skipped the bowl game to focus on his NFL career. Stanford finished 10-3. The Tar Heels wound up 8-5.

The best matchup takes place this evening in Miami Gardens, Florida, as The 10-2 Michigan Wolverines tangle with the 9-3 Florida State Seminoles.

This is Michigans first game since losing to Ohio State in double overtime. The Wolverines, who are ranked sixth by the AP, are looking to send their senior-dominated roster out with a victory in a major bowl game. The Seminoles, who are 10th in the AP poll, are looking to win their first bowl game since winning the national championship at the end of the 2013 season, as well as their fifth consecutive season of at least 10 wins.
